to crawl into the glass divider but got stuck call together driver for help. >> let me gelt out from that car. just open, open the door. that is all he did. i said help me. help me. so i just squeezed over there. he looked back. and then... i heard somebody yelling. it was stuck. so i tried to pull her out from there. >> she would take maik two step trips to the burning car before a good samaritan stopped her i said ed i.need to go back. but the man said you can't go back anymore nick, thank you.

now this is a list of the women that survived the fire. minor cuts from the window but she's okay. and mary grace from alameda is at stanford medical center. the bride is a nurse celebrating her recent marriage one of the five women not able to make it out of the limo. and tonight we're also hearing from the driver of a limb scene describing the chaotic scene.

orville brown was able to rescue some passengers. you can see them in the distance there on the bridge shoulder of this video. they continues our coverage live. laura? >> he'd been looking for the company a couple months but not aware that the company booked too many passengers. he also told thaws the women he picked up were having a great time in the back of the car. they just popped champagne moments before one alerted him to the smoke. >> just butte oofl this limo driver told us it started with promise. a group going out for a night on the town. >> just beautiful ladies.

and so happy. i asked what is the occasion. she the said bachelorett party. >> driving west towards foster city he heard pounding on the partition. >> lady knocks and says smoke. >> he says he realized she was signaling smoke in the back of the car. >> i'm thinking she's daying -- saying you know, she'd like to smoke. >> by the time he stopped he said two passengers climbed through a small opening. he helped two more make it through. he got out, someone managed to open the door. >> when the door opened it was just horrific. flames were high. seemed like they were just, i don't know. i don't know how to explain it. but they -- the car was

engulfed. >> once stopped brown says it seemed like a long time before it stopped. >> it seemed like a long time for the fire department to get there. >> now asked if that limo had a fire extinguisher. he said he did not know if it did, he it wasn't within his reach. tonight at 6:00 we'll hear brown's theory as to why he thinks this fire started. >> firefighters faced a long drive to reach the burning limbo crews from hayward raced to the scene from their own ends of the bridge. they use aid turn around to reach the car.

the distance about 1.7 miles. we're live with a look at the response time. vic? >> well, i spoke to the fire chief from foster city. his crews were the first to respond to that fire. he says now, for people affected by emergencies like this, minutes seem like hours. here is what the computer dispatch system sthoes about the response. it's a different story for driver -- than the drivers. first call came in at 10:126789 a limo scene on fire rmt both fire departments responded. >> we're on the bridge five minutes after the call came in. >> his firefighters reached the bridge at 10:18. since the fire was on westbound lanes they had to

turn around. >> they were able to go to an emergency turn around located at the base of the high rise. about two miles from the entrance of the bridge in our direction heading eastbound. turn around and they made it back to the emergency scene then in about 11 minute autos throughout that time they had to navigate through heavy traffic with cars going at highway speeds and two lanes. >> so what was response time from the snaigs to the scene? >> 11 minutes, 50 seconds. >> horrible scene shocked a 21 year veteran coroner. >> all deaths are horrific. this is just -- very impactful. probably the worst i've seen. >> chp disclosed the driver was licensed to drive but the limo only supposed to carry eight passengers. the company may have violated regulations set by the state public utilities commission.

>> we'll work to determine what regulations are required in this situation. there were nine people in this vehicle. >> now state p.u.c. regulates party buses and limb scenes and told us these vehicles must go through inspecks but since this vehicle carried fewer than that, it did not have to go through those infections. the coroner told us he has to use dental records to identify them. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. you'll need a mechanic. >> stay with us for updates on the fire just so horrific. we're going to take a look to see why it was so difficult for victims to get out of the

a wiltd police pursuit in sonoma county this morning. police say it started about 8:00 p.m. a 45-year-old stole a truck

and trail grer a walmart parking lot. then began smashing into vehicles and plowed down the fence of one home. also trying to run over a motorcycle officer police say. police final lay rested him but after he crashed into a budget inn, despite this, no one was hurt. >> pg&e tried to determine what caused a flash explosion on sunday. >> home video captured that explosion yesterday afternoon. two workers were hurt, one serious burns but that flash. they were part of a crew during repairs there.
