chipped away at the asphalt which had not dried completely. >> our other top story, a new witness comes forward about what happened right after the limousine fire on the san mateo-hayward bridge on saturday night. >> abc7 news has confirmed the identities of all five victims, the bride, neriza fojas, michelle estrera, nurses in fresno, and jennifer balon, and another is from alameda and we will get a picture of her very soon. one survivors is out of the hospital this morning. nelia rafael arellano is now home after suffering minor cuts the she amalia and jasmine desguia are at santa clara valley medical center in serious condition. when the initial emergency calls went out on saturday night crews had no idea of the tragedy that would unfold. abc7 news obtained a first

dispatch call, seconds after the fire broke out. >> a report of a vehicle fire limo with possible entrapment. >> engine two, we are coming. the limo is on the west side of the highway is well involved and people are trapped is the report. >> the foster city fire department was the first crew to arrive 11 minutes after the fire was first reported. the call between san mateo county, the c.h.p., and several other agencies went on for hours until the coroner came out and the bridge was eventually cleared. >> the parents of the bride, bride bride, are speaking from the philippines learning about her death by watching the news. her mother said they could not eat, sleep, and it is hard to accept what happened. her father last spoke with his

daughter on friday by skype. the parents say her ashes will be brought to the philippines when the tests are completed by forensics. we hear from the husband of one of the other victims, jennifer balon, and his wife was in the very become of the limousine when it was engulfed. he got the initial phone call that something happened, he never imagined she was dead. >> i didn't know what happened. i had a clue something bad happened because my wife did not call. i checked my phone. there is in text message. there was no missed call. >> the family had just celebrated their daughter's 10th birthday on saturday. >> abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield spoke to a witness on the bridge that night. you have the latest on that, amy hollyfield? >> he is haunted by what he did and did not see.

one of the survivors but five friends did not. she believes the limousine driver could have done more to help. [ inaudible ] "stop the car, stop the car." >> a witness has come forward to corroborate her account. >> victor was a passenger in the car going the other way on the bridge and he saw the fire, stopped, and watched in horror. he wonders then and has since, why he didn't see the driver. when he saw the version on the news he wasn't surprised by nelia rafael arellano. >> i can fault understand, where was this limousine driver? >> the driver told abc7 news that he did everything he could.

>> the car was engulfed. completely engulfed. i felt that nobody could have survived that. >> the women were all trying to get out through a window between the front and back seat. >> we said "help, help." trying to get my head out of the compartment and i squeezed myself over. "open the door, open the door," and he didn't do anything. >> the driver says that he did do all that he could. i asked about the possibility that the driver was in the car at the time or maybe on the other side, and he just didn't see him. he said it was a possibility but he had a good vantage point. he watched but did not see the driver. he has questions and he cannot stop thinking about the victims and their families.

i'm here. i'm free. >> she vanished in 2003 on the eve of her 17th birthday makes a frantic 9-1-1 careful after she kicked a door and screamed to get the attention of the neighborhood. >> we could not get in, because there was so much in a body could not fit in. so we kicked the bottom, and she comes out with the little girl and she says, call 9-1-1. i am amanda berry. >> police believe the girl is her daughter. >> in minutes of the 9-1-1 call officers arrived on the scene and identified two other women in the house, michelle knight who disappeared in 2002 when she was 20, and gina dejesus who vanished in 2004 at age 14. >> for amanda, for gina's family, for michelle's family, prayers have been answered. the nightmare is over. >> police have arrested three brothers, ariel castro, who was

investigated in 2004 for leaving a child unattend on the bus but was not charged. no one called police about trouble at the house. in the end, help came from inside, amanda berry is call add hero. >> i don't want to think what she has been through. we want to hug her and squeeze her. >> that was her choice own. her mother died in 2006. despite the police saying there were no calls a neighbor is telling the associated press her daughter saw a naked woman crawling through the backyard years ago and called police but they did not take i seriously. >> thank you very much. that incredible story developing in cleveland reminds us of the duggard abduction who was held for 18 years. a couple are serving prison services. she issued a statement about the cleveland case saying and i quote, "these individuals need

>> in the south bay a woman accused of robbing a 7/11 before crashing a stolen bmw into a tree is under arrest. the 22-year-old gonzalez led officers on a high-speed chase that ended at 3:30 this morning. two passengers including a pregnant woman were also taken into custody. police say gonzalez was wanted for two other 7/11 robberies and musted after trying to ditch the get away car in the same spot she used before. >> continuing our coverage of the deadly limo fire on the san mateo-hayward bridge, abc7 news reporter cornell bernard wanted to find out about the safety practices of the limo industry

and joins us from a company in santa clara. >> the owners of this company say they horrified about the accident on saturday. this company rents and builds limousines and did not build the car involved on saturday's accident but people should not be afraid to ride if them. >> they have been build willing custom limousines and vans like these in the santa clara valley for 28 years and the owner says his company did not build the limo that caught fire on saturday but he was very stubbed by -- disturbed. >> that is the worst nightmare to have a car catch fire and in 28 years i have never seen something so catastrophic. >> he believes he knows what may have caused the fire. >> i would assume that the gas tank caught fire. >> the company also offers limos for hire, and each vehicle is checked each day and thoroughly inspected inside and out at least once a month for safety.

>> every stretch limousine carry as fire extinguisher upfront with the driver, and this stretch limousine is licensed to carry ten passengers. we are told clients ask to fit one more person but the answer is always "no." >> we do not put more than capacity in the vehicles. not only for safety reasons but because the cars were not built to carry that extra weight. >> people should not be afraid to ride in a limo and should always look out for red flags when renting one for a special occasion. >> when you call an operator, if the price seems below market than what everyone else is charging, that should be a red flag. >> the owners are making safety changes to fire extinguishers that i mentioned are now carried upfront, not in the trunk, and door locking knobs will be extended here in the next few days to make it easier to get in

it comes in three to five year cycles and the last outbreak was in 2010 and now it is 2013, so, three years. >> meteorologist mike nicco is watching the ever changing forecast. >> commute to talk about, outdoor activity in the evening and everyone wants to be dry and not get wet. we could use more rain but it will not be so widespread. at 11:20 here is live doppler 7 hd, you can see the lack of radar runs, and you can see in the sierra, a lot of snow and rain continuing, and it is rotating back to us and it looks like the closer you are to the central valley the better chance you see of a shower or two of this system rotating back to us. as far as wall happen, partly sunny, barely able to check out from the tower the golden gate bridge, and low clouds are starting to roll in and make a sprinkle from this.

isolated showers is the best we can do because things are so murky. warmer-than-average temperatures headed into the weekend. downtown oakland, a little bit of sunshine trying to breakthrough, and the temperature is going to be 69, two degrees cooler than yesterday and same with santa rosa and san francisco three degrees cooler and san jose, fremont, and concord, more rain and sunshine than yesterday's rain and temperatures are one to two degrees warmer. the temperatures show san jose at 71. and cupertino, low 70's. the green dots are the computer models saying it is possible where we will see an isolated shower. mid-60's to near 70 on the peninsula today, not much of a chance here or loan the coast with throw mid-60's and more like a drizzle or sprinkle here and same in downtown and south san francisco, through the north bay, in the higher terrain, the storm coming back is and you could have scattered showers and

temperatures in the upper 60's to 70's, and low 60's at the beaches and the east bay shore, we are looking at upper 60's and near 70 and in the east bay valley, an area that got the bulk of the rain yesterday, at reporting stations, .1" in livermore and dublin and danville in the low-to-mid 70's today. headed to the game, a lot like last night temperature-wise, about 61 degrees at 7:15 first pitch and dropping to 57 by the end of the game. we will see lets cloud cover tonight and where the pockets hop up along the coast, upper 40's and everyone else in the low-to-mid 50's. here is what is happening, a couple of areas of low pressure off to the east, that is the one that has the broader circulation right now and down to the south we have another low that will keep moving down to our south and the best area if rain is going to be the closer you are to the south and to the central valley you can see the diabolo range and the north bay mountains through the afternoon hours and as the sun sets we loss the energy of the day and

we lose, also, most of the ability to produce those showers. you can see a little wave coming in here and it will keep us cloudy tomorrow morning, and as we head into the afternoon, you can see the sunshine break out and because the next wave of air is coming in from the north, temperatures will not modify with the sunshine or on thursday but, then, we will see it pick up with 9 temperature on friday and the low-to-mid 80's over the weekend and mid-70's around the bay and low 60's at the coast. >> you mentioned traffic problems. >> hopefully by the time the giants game comes along it will be fixed but we are on southbound 101, president reagan bridge right new, this is definitely a delay going on. >> we had a maybing problem that did not set up properly and the asphalt turned into pebbles and breaking up and they had to shut down two happies, the center lanes are shut down right now. >> hopefully bit evening commute they will have three northbound lanes possible even four re-opened so stick around to abc7news.com for the latest.
