conditions around the bay by noon. sunny inland by noon and sunny at the coast. the coast is mid-to-upper 50's and the bay is 62 in san francisco to 75 in san jose. inland we go from 73 to 83. this is just the beginning of a pretty extended warming friend. we will look at the seven-day forecast but first well get traffic. leyla gulen? >> we have a sig-alert in san francisco, an injury crash between southbound 101 to eastbound 80. we have all the lanes blocked on the ramp, the transition road. sig-alert because of an injury. we have construction in san jose, northbound 880 between 101 and the expressway one lane is blocked until 6:00 a.m. and the san mateo bridge, trafficking moving well from hayward to foster city and the high-rise. >> the head of america's cup

will give us the latest on the death of an olympian sailor when the high-tech yacht capsized yesterday in the bay. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard has new information on the accident. cornell? >> the swedish boat artemis was towed to clipper coffee on treasure island. this as close as we can get to the vessel. security surrounds the boat. the team from sweden was practicing yesterday on the bay for america's cup when tragedy struck. the 36-year-old crew member andrew simpson was killed when the boat capsized at 1:00 o'clock p.m. yesterday. sky 7 was overhead. ten crew members were rescued by simpson was not. he was underwater for at least ten minutes. paramedic spent 20 minutes trying to revise him but it was too late.

>> the boat capsized. he was trapped. attempts to recess state him failed. >> we always watch this boat and the others and it was a surprise, we commended on watching them practice. it is sad to hear that someone died. >> the tragedy is less than two months before the start of the america's cup event. the bay area is looking forward to this event. investigators will be combing over the boat. they do not know what caused the boat to capsize but it is possible mr. simpson became tangled in the rigging underwater. the investigation continues. >> cornell, thank you. the crew and the racing community are taking the accident hard. six of the crew members arrived at team headquarters in alameda at tragedy carrying the sail from the cat main.

>> in south bay, a 3.4 earthquake rattled residents as many were going to sleep last night at 10:00 centered about five miles east of san jose's allen rock neighborhood on the calaveras fault. the u.s. government said felt felt it from gilroy to redwood city. >> developing news this morning in the cleveland kidnapping case, the suspect is on suicide watch. also, there are new revelations about his behavior from a note ariel castro wrote a decade ago. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has the story. >> according to abc in cleveland, ariel castro is monitored an the clock and is in a cell separate from the prison population because the case is so high brother final. a medical team did not find him to be suicidal. his writings would indicate otherwise, law enforcement officials say a note found in his home is suicidal in nature.

says she is enjoying freedom and being outside. michelle knight is still in the hospital telling police she got pregnant five times by castro and he beat and starved her until she miscarried each time. castro is only charged with rape and kidnapping but the prosecution says they could add hundreds more charges including aggravated murder for the pregnancies he allegedly terminated by force. >> a daycare center in milpitas is shut down this morning after investigators found an infant strapped in a car seat in a dark closet. investigators actioned on a tip and discovered a baby boy in a closet at the day care. the center is run by a woman who has has her license suspended. the owner can appeal, and milpitas police have determined this was child abuse with charges to be filed.

>> peta is targeting a san francisco restaurant for selling a highly rated type of duck liver is being sold although it is illegal. they say they get it from a new york farm but peta says the farm is force-feeding the ducks or the geese to engorge their liver. in a letter to the police, peta will pursue legal action if they continue to violate the ban on the duck liver. >> thief stole an expensive bicycle in front of an abc7 news camera. we were there when the thief made the escape. you will only see this video here. the owner stopped on market to celebrate "bike do work day" and the thief hopped on the bicycle and pedals away. the owner says the bicycle is worth $1,200. >> the santa clara city count approved a deal to give levi

strauss company exclusive naming rights to the new 49ers stadium signing off on the agreement last night. levi strauss will pay $220 million over 20 years for the naming rights to call the facility "levi stadium." with the partnership unveiled on wednesday and the public attention is good for business. hevi stadium will open next year. >> war yards play at home tonight against the spurs. the warriors evened it up at a game each with a victory in shown on wednesday. they lost a heartbreaker in double overtime in game one after having a 16-point lead evaporate. tonight's game three is 7:30 on espn and you can watch game 4 of the warriors and spurs playoff on sunday at night right here on abc7 news. >> that is what mom wants to see
