helm. >> now to oakland police headquarters. nick? >> i am still getting information from my sources here with the oakland police department. we understand there is another major shakeup. in fact, the press conference is scheduled for 11:30 this morning at city hall led by the mayor and city administrator and are expected to announce the new changes within the department. two days ago, deputy chief anthony toribio was appointed interim chief in the wake of howard jordan's sudden departure. he was replaced on friday. today he will build replaced. that is what the press conference will be about. i spoke with assistant chief toribio to days ago and asked if this is a position he wanted. this is what he said. >> chief toribio, your last two spread setters -- last two predecessors have left quickly. is this a position you want?

catamaran, an accident which took the life of a star sailor. 36-year-old andrew simpson is a true superstar in the sailing world, from great britain, a two-time olympic medalist. he and his crew of ten were doing practice runs on the swedish rating catamaran artemis and something went wrong. it capsized and simpson was trapped under the water for 10 minutes. efforts to revise him were unsuccessful. the crew was pulled to safety. team is devastated. in a statement the group says "our thoughts are with andrew's family who suffered a tragic loss." artemis will conduct a thorough review of the accident. this is a picture of the room where we will hear from america's cup c.e.o. and captain from the united states coast guard investigating the

doing it in super lightweight catamarans that have a shape like a wing. sailors and myself, we all want to point out we don't know what happened yesterday. it could be something as bake as hitting a log but sailors say this will continue the discussion that was already going on over how safe people are while racing these cat st. catharines -- catamarans. sailors sail year round and the bay fundamentally a great place to play, a great recreational spot but the thing is, it is like indy car racing, you can drive your t van around the speedway safely but if you head and get out there in an indy car it is very dangerous. here is video of the crash that happened in october, belonging

san jose overnight injuring the driver and the hospital employee. it happened before 4:00 this morning, santa clara county sheriff says a deputy was finishing up paperwork at the hospital and he heard a loud crash and he was at the scene in seconds and found the driver and janitor hurt. the hospital remained open using other entrances for paint, -- patients and staff and visitors. >> delays are still possible through burlingame on caltrain, a caltrain headed southbound hit and killed a young woman at oakland grove. she was dragged half a mile. her body was recovered on the track near burlingame high school and the cause is under investigation. >> and the waterfront at san francisco is closed after a restaurant was nearly destroyed at forbes restaurant located off

day. as i said, they were training and at 1:00 o'clock they completed one of the normal maneuvers which is to bear away which would happen at one of the marks and is one of the more difficult maneuvers in any fast boat whatever time, a catamaran or whatever, that you change the direction and the wind flow across the boat. the (k) yesterday were normal, standard, san francisco, with flat water around 3 naughts at 1:00 o'clock and the wind was 18 do 0 knots with gusts possibly higher and the artemis and crews were doing what they do,

standard practice, maneuvers, trials against each other. [ inaudible ] >> if san francisco bay and other parts of the world, capsizing is part of the boats on many occasions, with the smaller boats righted and we have seen or a -- oracle capsize here last november so we are constantly moving to improve the way we manage the boats and manage them on-and-off the water but, also, what may happen in the circumstances. all we know from the maneuver is that the boat ended up upside down capsized, broken into many

pieces and all of the crew except for bart, were located immediately. it appears that bar was trapped under some of the solid sections of the yacht out of view and out of the sight to the myriad of people on board who tried to locate him including proper divers with apparatus and all of the crews on the boats had been trying to get under water and all carried oxygen and were meant to be prepared for the worst. andrew was located eventually and administered with both care and support on the boat, on the chase boats and later at the
