to near 70 for the rest of us under mostly clouds. leyla gulen? >> as we look at the 80 westbound through albany is clear through the place with dry conditions here as you get over to the bay bridge toll plaza, ten minutes from highway four to the maze. we have construction projects that will be in affect until 6:00 a.m. and if you are traveling westbound along 580 starting at richmond parkway to the toll, that is where we will see a couple of lanes blocked until 6:00 a.m. and, finally, in santa cruz mountains we have one-way traffic control if affect along highway 92 at skyline boulevard. >> we are following breaking news from san jose, where police are investigating an overnight homicide. after 1:00 o'clock a.m. police received a phone call of a man unconscious in a parking lot near blossom hill road in south

san jose. it appears the man was assaulted. his identity is not released. investigators are on the scene now. we will bring you any information as it comes in. >> breaking news from texas where the sun is up and they are looking for more victims of a deadly string of tornadoes. six were killed and dozens are injured. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has more on this. >> 20,000 people are without power this morning according to the abc7 news affiliate in houston in two hard-hit communities. more than half of the homes in two to three square mile are in the dark but schools will open. all of that as the crews are searching for missing people. look at damage done from the pictures above the homes, roofs are torn off, furnitureture and erlongings are strewn ev

and people are walking around taking pictures, presumably homeowners. three tornadoes hit north texas, and the sheriff says that six people are dead and officials are trying to account for 14 other people but at this point it is not clear if they are missing or, hopefully, away from the area. the video of the tornadoes, the storms last 250 people homeless and 50 people were hurt, nearly half of them were transferred to ft. worth for a higher level of care. >> the information is that people were found in homes and they were hard hit, the homes, were collapsed and destroyed. they were probably hit by flying debris. >> the storms brought heavy rain, roads are flooded, highways are closed, and look at this, some areas saw hail the size of grapefruit. this was a natural gas leak which has been shut off. no one was affected.

we expect another law enforcement update in an hour. >> this morning, firefighters are battling to contain a growing wildfire burning south of bakers field that spread to 3,000 acres since yesterday afternoon. gusts made it hard for firefighters to get a handle on it. it is only 10 percent contained. 400 firefighters on the ground with seven air tankers and four choppers hitting the fire from the sky. the fire was threatening several power transmission lines running through the area but no buildings are in danger. no one has been hurt. >> developing news from san jose this morning. a "person of interest" has been taken into custody in connection with the triple stabbing that killed a woman and small child and injured another child. officers picked up the man in san francisco last night in the attack at a home on viewmont avenue at 4:00 p.m. >> the 29-year-old ruben ramirez is a "person of interest" in the stabbing death of a one-year-old

boy and his 48-year-old grandmother. video shows the scene of a three-year-old girl also stabbed was taken to the hospital and he is to stable condition. ruben ramirez was taken into custody after 9:00 last night and authorities say he is related to the victims but they are not calling him a suspect. >> pleasanton police are looking for two men who robbed a woman and tried to kidnap her baby last night before 6:30. investigators say that the suspects followed her to the garden town homes and one of the men pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse while the other took her stroller with the child inside. the stroller tipped over and the suspects ran off. neither the woman or her infant son were hurt. it is unknown if the men knew the woman. >> america's cup teams are said to resume practicing for the first time since the death of a sailor during a training run last week. on tuesday, america's cup officials announced the race

will go on as scheduled. they expect all four interrupts to compete including artemis racing, one of their boats was damaged weapon it capsized killing andrew simpson of great britain. a review committee will look at the incident and make recommendations to ensure the races are safe. the next america's cup race is scheduled july 4. >> soon it may cost more to visit the san francisco zoo and today the recreation and park commission is set to decide whether to raise ticket prices by $2. staff recommended the increase in a report to the commission citing rising operating expenses. admission fees are $12 for adult san francisco residents and $15 for nonresidents. the increases go into affect for discounted senior and child tickets while admission remains free for school district groups. >> oracle arena will be the place to be in the bay area tonight when the warriors fight

to stay alive in the western conference semi files again the spurs. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is inside oracle arena where fans will be in for an exciting night. >> they will be dressed for the occasion, kristen, with gold t-shirts waiting to wear. look at this place: a sea of gold. they put out 20,000 t-shirts and the staff was here until 10:00 last night getting these ready. check out this video of the difference it makes. look at the sea of gold you see at the home games. it is impressive powerful sight. she have done it for every playoff at home. in san antonio, it looks blah compared to when they are here at home. it pays off. the warriors have won seven of the last eight playoffs at home. the term "home advantage" is true for the warriors and the team is honing it will get them

through tonight. >> we will play with that type of effort, especially in front our home fans. i am looking forward to game six and trying to make it through. >> the team practiced here at home yesterday. they got back to the bay area late tuesday. maybe it was early wednesday when they finally landed and they left san antonio after the game on tuesday. they will practice here today at 10:00 so it is quiet here now but it will be full of players at 10:00 this morning for a practice and of course the big game tonight. the winner, when they win tonight, they will go back to san antonio for the big decisive game seven on sunday. that is when the warriors will win this series and move on to the championship.

and out highway 4 and out 580 headed to the central valley. along 580 you can see dublin boulevard and danly boulevard and stone ridge drive headed to the mall are we are seeing the better radar runs and as you head up 680, this area is showing a few sprinkles. in union city we are looking at niles road a better radar return and 84 from the hills and descending to fremont toward 880, and a few scattered radar runs showing up on the peninsula around daly city and down to san bruno and south san francisco. scattered sprinkles and maybe light rain for the morning commute, and our best chance of rain, now, through about nunn with -- about noon and clouds. temperatures do not warm up, low-to-mid 50's this morning to

mid-50's a upper 60's headed inland. the next three days, it is breezy, and that is kicking up the showers and it will bring in sun tomorrow and much warmer weather, five- to ten-degrees warmer by sunday. leyla gulen? >> good morning, there is an indication we have wet roadways if livermore. we have a solo vehicle spinout eastbound 580 at the off-ramp, sitting there in the lane so c.h.p. is making there way over there. there is more volume in the westbound direction with drive time traffic in a moment. 580, headed between tracy and dublin, 28 minutes, 101 from san francisco to sfo looking at 12 minutes. from 101 through san jose to cupertino, that is 17-minute commute. right now, a look at your san jose drive along 280, if you are headed away from 17 it is mice and quiet and dry.

will have to defend himself on charges he fired a police prosecutor who once investigated him for misconduct and sought his dismissal. he was laid off from her job as police attorney in 2011 and that was a month after sir was sworn in. he investigated the case in which police brass were accuses hiding police misconduct. in 2009 she also investigated for not immediately filing a domestic violence case against a friend. she said she was targeted. the department says o'hare was let go after the position was eliminated in a departmental i organization. >> the california highway patrol is wanting of the dangers of driving while using google new high-tech eyewear, the google glass, which displays information for the user to see. the c.h.p. says that google glass should be considered a distraction to drivers, much like using a smartphone but the department says new laws are not needed to limit the use of flag

as winds gust up to 20 or 30 knots and in the east bay, headed tout where this is a lot of cherry trees out there that are getting were needed rain this morning, and one of the roads, there, getting wet along with deer valley road and we will head over to dublin, you can see right here that the iran -- iron horse trail could be wet this morning, also. i will zoom out and you can see there is still a little more moisture showing up offshore so let me put this into motion and it is rotating to the peninsula so light rain in the east bay for the next hour or so, and scattered light shower and sprinkles at times, at times, for the rest of us. we will talk about the east bay the temperatures in the low-to-mid 60's at pittsburg and antioch and brentwood and everyone else in the mid-to-upper 50's from 56 in livermore and pleasanton to dublin/pleasanton at 55 and

lafayette at 55. there is the embarcardero this morning, not so breezy but the wins kick up with the frontal path bringing us cooler temperatures today and a shower most likely before noon. it will be brighter tomorrow but, still, cool and a warming trend for this dry weekend. temperatures today will run in the mid-to-upper 50's along the coast to 61 in san francisco and upper 60's if most of the bay shore and a few 70's inland valley. tonight, well hang out in the 50's again, but the north bay valley and fremont and palo alto and toward the coast, upper 40's, this cold front you can see rolling in right now, most of the moisture is headed to our north with the cold front so our best chance of wet weather is this morning through noon or 12:00 and we will have a stray shower in the afternoon.

temperatures are warmer as we head from saturday, sunday, and into on. leyla gulen? >> as we go to the maps we have the first indication of the wet roadways affecting our traffic, and c.h.p. has arrived on the scene and the crash is on westbound 580 on the spring town road on-ramp and this is a solo vehicle spinout so we have slick conditions in livermore and slow drive coming from tracy and toward dublin. as we take it identify to the tunnel we have a crash involving a motorcycle and this is along westbound 24 and that is causing a little bit of a delay and we see one lane blocked and possible injuries involved. finally, a look at walnut creek drive if you are coming from concord to the junction with 24 we are looking at 10-to-15 minute commute. >> ahead, five things to know as you start the day. also, mission malfunction, natural's planet hunting days [ virginia ] i do have a healthy diet...

right now the weather forecast. >> grace under pressure. mike if. >> hopefully not so much pressure as the people dealing with the rain to get to work especially as you wind from discovery bay toward livermore through the windmills, that is where our best radar return is showing up, as we slide down to the southwest, you can see through the sunol grade we have radar returns indicative of some sprinkles possibly light rain at the higher elevations. this is moving to the south and southeast with the cold front rolling law and anywhere north of 80 to the high country is where we have radar runs right now. as we head into the afternoon hours our best chance of scattered showers is in the high country, with 68 in yosemite and to the south, 65 in san diego and 71 in los angeles. >> good morning, as we head to the east bay this is the drive from orinda, you could be expected here and we are looking at delays, westbound 24 beyond

the tunnel we have an accident involving a motorcycle. again, it is blocking a lane so that is causing some slowing coming from orinda and to piedmont, and taking a look at the mass transit, bart and muni and caltrain and everything is running on time at this hour and if you want to avoid the wet roads we are seeing a few especially in livermore and toward antioch, and this could be a good option. >> problem for nasa, the space agency's hubble telescope is broken and they are troubling to gain control of the telescope. it cannot aim accurately. one of the three reaction wheels required to orient the spacecraft is jammed. if engineers can not find a fix they cannot look for planets outside the solar system anymore. since 2009 it has found more than 2 mix on possible planets including 280 with the same size >> the abc7 morning news

i turned off the layers to focus on the possibility of rain falling and it is right here between discovery bay and to livermore and coming through the altamont pass you climb up a little bit and you could be climbing into the clouds and it could be wet more than descending into livermore in the valley. you can see i put the lighter green on, and this is where we could have sprinkles, anywhere with the cold front moving through especially from, say, highway 37, maybe 12 in the north bay, and south. still looking for ground drizzle, and feel free to send me a picture or on facebook. here is a look down at the cloud cover moving through, and it is not a solid line so if we are getting wet weather, it is scattered. isolated through noon. >> we are seeing citizens because of the wet weather in livermore and the accident is still in place blocking a lane

westbound 580 at spring town road on the on-ramp with the red behind and it heavy delays. hopefully folks are driving slower this morning because you run the risk of the solo vehicle spinouts and to the west, if you are headed out of orinda long westbound 24, beyond the tunnel, it is an accident involving a motorcycle and it is blocking a lane and we are following slowing out of there. we have construction along westbound 580 between richmond parkway and the toll, we have a couple of lanes blocked until 6:00 a.m. >> 5:31. developing news from the south bay, police are holding a "person of interest" this morning in the fatal stabbing of a one-year-old boy in east san jose. our reporter is at the scene and the "person of interest" is related to the victims; that right? >> that is what we understand. this home is still a crime scene and it is still surrounded by a lot of police tape and sheriff ten difficulties where the

brutal stabbing of three family members happened, only one person, a three-year-old girlfriend, survived. we have learned that 29-year-old ruben ramirez is now a person person and they are not calling him a suspect. he was picked up in san francisco at 9:15 by the u.s. marshals and the target of an intense five-hour manhunt on wednesday. we captured most of it. the 48-year-old broom and her one-year-old greats -- grandson were stabbed and the three-year-old granddaughter survived. it is believed ruben ramirez was related to the victim. he is a man with a hit of -- a history of mental illness. the three-year-old girl is hospitalized in san jose and is in stable condition. we will learn more of the investigation later this morning. >> two pre-teen children from vallejo are recovering after police say they wer at by

two old are kids. officers say the shooters aproduct four younger kids in an alley off of arkansas street at 7:00 last night. the suspects are two boys between 14 and 16. the victims are between 11 and 13. one of teens pulled a .38 caliber resolver and fired at the kids from 20' away missing two of them. the wounds to the boys remain hit are not considered life threatening. >> when you have 15 or 16-year-olds shooting kids that are 11 to 13, that is ridiculous >> it says that the city is off the hook and something needs to be done to control this stuff. >> witnesses helped police track the suspect down in the neighborhood and investigators say the suspect and victims likely know each other. >> we continue to follow breaking news from texas with a seven underway for victims of the deadly storms. the storms spawned tornadoes that killed at least six people.

abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has been following the updates. >> law enforcement is looking for the missing and homeowners are surveying the damage that has been done and the damage is extensive. we have these pictures above texas one of the worst hit areas, the worst hit communities and neighbors have just been decimated as you can see and 250 people have been forced from the area. that is not the worst of it. the tornadoes were deadly and the hood county sheriff said six were killed. 14 more are needing to be accounted for. three tornadoes have been confirmed. dozens of people were hurt in the storm and reports vary from 50 to 100 people being hurt. those who made it through describe it. >> it is real calm and suddenly

a vacuum and you wonder, whoa, what is going on? >> we made it but people are missing. >> there are 20,000 people without power and that includes two to three square miles in the dark in this small town with schools still open we understand in the town. we are 30 minutes away from an update in north texas with the new information when i have it. >> today the lake county coroner is expected to performance autopsy on a missing san francisco girl whose body was found in a creek. the searchers found the nine-year-old mikaela lynch near her family vacation home in clear lake. she was last seen in surveillance video leashing the home on sunday. that prompted a search that involved hundreds. mikaela lynch suffered from severe autism. the autopsy is expected to confirm there was no foul play

in her death. >> happening now, a search is underway for a missing pet human man -- petaluma man at risk after a brain injury from a motorcycle accident and is confused. he cannot perform functions without help. he was last seen yesterday after leashing the house on a red bicycle he has a cell phone but he doesn't know how to use it. police tracked the phone to vallejo and they do not know how he got there or if he is still there. >> woman found dead at a holiday inn express was involved in an intense struggle before she died. a cleaning crew found her body in a room at the hotel on monterey highway yesterday afternoon and police say they did not find a weapon and are not sure if she died at the hotel. an autopsy will help determine what really happened to her. >> this afternoon, officials will hold a news conference at san francisco city hall to talk about security, safety, and road closures for the 102 end bay to

on live doppler 7 hd in livermore at 84 and 580 coming together and headed up through the higher terrain ofh diabolo range and through the san ramon valley from danville headed to castro valley we are getting a few springs. around stone ridge road and headed to blackhawk, that is better radar runs and 880 in fremont, knee cedar boulevard we have the better radar return with light drizzle on the coast. best chance for wet weather is through noon and we will see a few breaks in the clouds but mostly clouder and cooler-than-average for the better part of the afternoon and mid-50's at the coast and mid-to-upper 60's around the bay and inland at 4:00 and everyone in the 50's to low 60's by 7:00. moving forward tomorrow is dry but temperatures are the same and the big warming trend for saturday and sunday.

nightmare caught on video. she was in a stroller when it fell on to the train tracks. you can see in the surveillance video a woman standing on a platform in philadelphia with her daughter in the stroller and the stroller rolls right down on the tracks. the out are rail was not charged and transit police were able to stop the incoming train. the mother jumped down on to the tracks and lifted her baby to safety with the help of other passengers. >> close call. a small sport utility vehicles are the preferred forum of transport for drivers with families. are they safer than the family car? this is video from the insurance institute for highway safety putting 13 small s.u.v.'s through the overlap crash test, subaru and outlander were given the "plus" air ward and hyundai
