i saw flames everywhere. half of the hillside is burnt up right now. >> fire tears through an east bay hillside putting neighbors on edge as it closes in on homes. this fire was no accident. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm ama dates. the fire began near alhambra avenue and lindh see drive in

martinez. sergio is live in martinez tonight. sergio? >> ama this neighborhood was clouded in smoke for hours as crews were battling a 15-acre fire in the hills just behind these homes. investigators tell us the fire was intentionally set and they have already made an arrest. wind-swept flames were pushed to within feet of some homes. airport crews kept it from destroying any property within minutes of emergency teams arriving a woman was taken in custody in connection with the fire. according to martinez police, officers arrived on scene because of a report of a woman starting the fire with a lighter. as the fire was raging they arrested 48-year-old julie ten -- tenpenny and she is facing arson charges. >> it was a wind driven fire. >> they quickly called for more resources and as the firecrews made their attack, some residents sprayed down

their yards because the flames moved fast. >> from the top of the hill it only took five minutes to burn down. >> plumes of smoke reached into the sky. there was a earn c for -- there was a concern for one resident who drove home only to find her neighborhood on fire. >> how far away is the fire from your house? >> not far. it is almost across the court. it is very close by. >> shocking when you got home to see that? >> very shocking and very scary. >> within a few hours the fire was contained and the only person injured was a police officer who was hurt when they arrested the arson suspect. in mart -- in martinez, abr7 news. >> and firefighters are bats lig flames along highway 4 in concord. the fire started just before 7:00 this evening. it burned between 8 and 10 acres and the fire never threatened any buildings. >> it was, about you changes are ahead.

recent studies show if given half a chance people will try to find out what is on your smart phone. that got michael finney thinking how you can protect yourself. he is here with a 7 on your side security report. >> just what do you have on your smart phone? would you freak out if somebody was snooping, a spouse, your friends, co, woulders? there is a way to beat the snoops at their own game. what happens when you leave a cell phone unsecured? the maker of norton security wanted to find out. the company put 50 phones around san francisco and four other cities. here is what they found. while only 50% of the people who found the phones tried to

return them 97% rifled through them. >> the people on those phones snooped. they went around and looked at the work information the personal information and they tried to log into a bank account of a person and went into their facebook. they tried to go into files marched hr salaries. they tried to log into e-mail. curiosity is a powerful thing. >> it is not just lost or misplaced phones. she is with lookout security and a recent survey found those around us are big snoops too. >> one in three have peeked into someone else's phone and surprisingly in the survey we found one in ten have add -- admitted to looking at a co-worker's phone. >> there are features allowing smart phone owners to keep track of their phone and who is using them. >>- q. i if somebody tries to

your high. once the cool air comes in, boom, by tuesday you are down to 73. after tomorrow the temperatures will trend below normal for this time of year. 86 santa clara and 87 for san jose. even the coast will see sunshine. and palo alto to 84. san francisco is 74 and even the sunset district will be mild at 68 degrees with some sunshine there. and in the north bay, the temperatures are in the 80s, 87 for cloverdale and santa rosa and napa tomorrow 87. east bay shoreline, berkeley 79. 80 for oakland. newark 82 degrees. up and over the east bay hills we go and temperatures there will warm into the 90s. 90 for concord and pittsburgh and 92 brentwood and 91 for livermore. here is a look at the seven-day forecast. warmest day of the week is monday. and then a sharp drop in temperature on tuesday.

good evening. i'm ama dates. in tonight's headlines a 48-year-old concord woman is under arrest under suspicion of arson. she started a four-acre brushfire in martinez with a cigarette lighter. it took an hour and a half to knockdown the flames because of wends and steep terrain -- winds and steep terrain. >> more problems on the bay bridge. thousands of ducts have suffered corrosion from water and salty fix. there could be a big move to social media. the company is expected to announce tomorrow the acquisition of the on-line content sharing site tumbler. the cost is $1.1 billion.

killer tornadoes are leaving a path of destruction in the midwest. this story is developing news. the storms have left at least one man dead and more than 20 people injured and caused millions of dollars in proper damage in kansas. it interrupted this mobile home park destroyed by this tornado. >> it is on the ground. >> powerful tornadoes swept across the midwest from kansas to oklahoma. this funnel cloud tore across the plain states sending debris in every direction and knocking out power. >> it was very scary. >> rescue workers spread out to work for injured residents in shawnee, oklahoma transporting them to local hospitals. the powerful winds even overturned tractor-trailers. the forecasters warned the midwest residents to expect tornadoes to come their way and they did. darkening the horizon and sewing destruction everywhere including the oklahoma city
