truck and the bay bridge metering lights are on and the traffic is looking very busy there in the westbound direction and eastbound we have construction until 6:30. kristen and katie? >> continuing to follow breaking news from san jose where crews are investigating a one-alarm house fire that break out this morning, it happened at a home after 1:00 o'clock a.m. with the fire appears to be have started in the garage and damaged one vehicle. no one was injured. we have a reporter on seen with an update at 6:30. >> fire officials hope two brushfires are not rekindled in san jose after break out last night. it burned one acre but no structure was threatened. no word on the cause. >> we were other head as crews worked to contain a fire that broke out before noon burning seven acres and sent smoke to the sky visible for miles.

close quickly? >> it is, that is a good point. we watched it on their radar coming out of there bringing heavy rain and the ponding on the roads. earlier it had half-dollar sized-hail and thankfully the strongest of the hail has moved on but they still getting wet weather and you can see it arcing right around there, and here is newcastle, and the norman area is here where the national severe storms laboratory and the prediction center is. over the last three hours, watch that black is where we are getting hail and it came across and new castle and this is sliding to the southeast and moving away from this so the worst of it is over, any severe weather today will be a little bit further to the west, along the red river along wichita falls and back into southwest texas so the worst of it is over but that is just adding insult to injury and that is very unfortunate for those folks.

cell phones behind the wheel. the new survey from the california office of traffic safety shows the percentage of drives using a cell phone behind the wheel has dropped from 10.8 percent in 2012 to 7.4 percent this year. this includes hand held and hands free usage. it is encourage by the drop but the department adds that any cell phone use is still too high even hands-free. >> google glass is not even in stores yet but there is a distinction of being the first person to "lose" the device. the "los angeles times" report that developer who pre-order the desaid it likely slipped through the bag at airport security. the developer contacted google which told him he is the first person to misplace the precious google glass which has not been recovered. google glass is not chop, it -- cheap but it costs $1,500 and access is limited.

>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> good morning, at 6:29. we have breaking news from san mateo, a sky 7 picture showing a bus that hit a low hanging wire and you can see the wires right there, the fire department is on the scene and you can see the pg&e truck with crews working on that while they get everyone off the bus and all passengers are fine. you can see firefighters there. this is an area with a lot of homes in san mateo but the bus will disrupt traffic. we the talk to leyla gulen about that in a second. breaking news in san mateo. >> everyone got east bus safely. thank you for joining us this morning i am katie marzullo here for eric. the winds are an issue, mike? >> yes, especially headed to the afternoon. they are fast along the coast and shooting through the gap

toward sfo and we are getting gusts up around 25 or 30 miles per hour and everyone else is around 10 or 15 and some areas are calm. we are waking up to mostly sun and it is dry on live doppler 7 hd so we will talk about the day planner. the next telepne starting off in the 40's and the mid-60's by noon and the breezes are noticeable and upper 60's by 4:00. the day planner inland the next 12 hours starting off at 46 and 20 degrees warmer at noon and the next 12 hours are stuck in the 50's with the fast of the wind in the 40's so you will warm up ten degrees. we talk about our local commute. leyla gulen? >> in san mateo we go, and this is where we have the incident involving the bus with power lines toppled on this bus north delaware street and we are understanding the preliminary information that is bus number 292 so expect delays in this

area and we will bring you more details as they become available. as we head in the altamont pass in the east bay this is the drive from the westbound direction and you are looking at 17 miles per hour, slow from tracy, and it is 50 minute dry to get toward dublin and as we zoom in, this is where we had an early accident blocking one lane, westbound 580 because of an overturned box truck so one lane remains blocked and speeds up to 57 miles per hour. right now, this is the drive through walnut creek slower at this hour as you come down to the junction with the 24 and looking at 10 minutes drive to come down from highway 4. kristen and katy -- katie? >> in the last hour firefighters cleared the scene following an early morning house fire and abc7 news reporter joins us to tell us about that. matt? >> you can see the content damage by the fire in the home,

the contents are in the front yard. the home owner is cleaning the car. this started at 1:00 o'clock and the family actually thought it was a burglary. >> we heard crackling and breaking sounds and originally thought maybe someone was breaking in so the owner found the garage on fire and they called 9-1-1. >> firefighters say when they arrived the fire had spread to the attic and they pulled out three motorcycle but a classic chevrolet was damned. the husband, wife, two sons and a dog all got out safe. they told the firefighters they would not need the help of red cross. the firefighters would not put a dollar amount on the damage but it is extensive because of the water used and the need to bring down the ceiling. no word on the cause of the fire. firefighters are investigating. >> matt, thank you, we want to

take our viewers to san mateo and this is the view from sky 7, pg&e cruise are on the scene checking the power lines. a bus hit a low-hanging wire while this were passengers on the bus and weed in from the fire department that everyone was able to get off the bus safely but there is the bus just beyond that large tree. it is still in the middle of the road with pg&e working the scene. the roads are closed now and there could be further road closures, north delaware street. certainly looks like a few blocks of delaware are closed and we heard there were was some sparking of the wires so if you live in that area you will want to not approach the wires because they could be live wires. it is a danger in terms of the wires and also potentially traffic in that area.

1,400 scout members meeting in texas to decide if openly bay boys can become scouts. the ban open gay adult members will remain if place. a local boy was denied the rank of eagle scout and got nation-wide attention. the president of the boy scouts called on voters to lift the ban. >> san francisco police are certaining for a driver who crashed in a home and took off. the impact left a big hole in the house in the out are mission district. it happened at 7:40 last night. witnesses say the driver fled the scene right away and police later found the vehicle abandoned in daly city with no sign of driver and no one in the home was shut. >> c.h.p. is asking for anyone who witnessed a fatal accident on 580 between livermore and tracy to come forward after it claimed the life of a young father. the 33-year-old michael cox was impaled by a pole that smashed
