>> it's been a long seven years of porn. prostitution, stripping, drugs, alcohol and several failed suicide attempts, but i made it. >> come on, come on. >> reporter: xxx church is an online church is the soul mission to help people break free from pornography. >> i never met a girl or a guy in the industry that told me this is what i wanted to do when i was a kid. >> reporter: its pastor craig gross believes that porn notxd only hurts its stars but also marriages and families. >> first words out of their mouth are this is why i'm not longer married. >> reporter: craig knew he wanted to be a pastor since he was 17 years old. and founded the xxx church when he saw what a huge problem pornography was for his youth group. >> i just met a girl that got out of the industry recently. 390 films in the last seven years. average pay for a girl in porn is less than $1,000. she made $45,000 a year for the last seven years.

it's not even really great money. >> reporter: given craig's convictions -- >> every year? >> yeah, i've been every year. >> reporter: it's surprising that one of his closest friends is this man. ron jeremy, the most famous porn star in the world. >> so what can i do for you? >> reporter: ron got started in the porn business in 1978 twhen he and his then girlfriend sent pictures into playgirl magazine. >> i can do anything i want. >> reporter: he even has turned his porn star into nonporn roles and videos in movies including kid rock "cowboy." though he's had sex with countless women on screen and off, craig has only had sex with one -- his wife of 15 years, jeanette. >> i've been with a couple thousand women. craig has been with his life a couple of thousand times. same thing. >> yet the two have become fast

got to duck. and ron's ducking because he said they can't see we're friends because it will ruin the show. >> reporter: then ron was rushed to the hospital for heart surgery. >> he said craig, i'm scared, i don't want to die. he said will you pray for me? >> the exact conversation. craig, are you afraid for a coup of hours? yeah. are you still close to god? he said last time i checked. i said i would like you and him to come down to my hospital. >> reporter: after a lengthy hospital stay, ron pulled through. >> reporter: do you think craig's prayers worked and do you think there's a reason you survived? >> everybody's prayers worked. craig's worked. >> reporter: he saws he's a changed man. >> i love that christian music. >> reporter: in part because of what he has learned from craig. >> i had experiences that definitely made me believe in god. i mean, they had no other

explanation. >> reporter: ron estimates he has made millions throughout his career, but instead of recovering from his surgery in a lavish mansion -- >> here we have it. >> reporter: welcome home. he lives here in a motel apartment in hollywood. not bad. >> reporter: a stark contrast to craig's happy family home. >> look at that face. >> reporter: ron owned several homes, but they were unsuitable for his recovery. craig says the reason you're here is because you're horder. >> not a horde e, a pack rat. >> reporter: lying around, you'll find his best seller. the hardest working man in showbiz. his archaic address book. but despite his lifestyle, ron has been embraced by the xxx church. >> you know what we're against,

how do you do it? i was sore the next day watching. >> it's what i do really. you have a room full of people go crazy and drink all your wine. >> reporter: we were talking about it. if people are willing to pay $500, $600 for a seat, just think what they would pay for a mick jagger elixir. your fitness regiment. >> i don't have much of a fitness regiment to be honest. it's pretty low key. i do have one. . >> reporter: keith richards is also 69. and admittedly less mobile on stage. but as he proved during the concert for hurricane sandy relief last december, that guitar gives him noless power to anyone with an eardrum. what's it like to be keith richards and hit an opening riff and see it just rip like electricity through a room like that. >> it is indescribable. i wish you could all be there. you know? but it's something i can't share

with anybody. maybe charlie watts and the guys in the band. there's just a magic to it. i'm in love with it, really. after all, when it comes down to it, what do we do and what are regood at? we touch people's hearts. >> and to think the stones nearly split for good several times over recent decades. as keith revealed in his recent autobiography life, his resentment for jagger began building in the '80s when the singer's ego seemed to grow too big for the band. i used to hang for mick, he wrote, but i haven't gone to h iz dressing room for 20 years. sometimes i miss my friend. where the hell did he go? >> charlie's insults to jagger

were so sering it took an apology from richards before this reunion could happen. how would you characterize your relationship with keith these days? >> at the moment, it's a pretty good working relationship. we see each other on stage and play together and rehearse. it's pretty good. those songs, did you write them together or separately? >> separately. i live in europe. >> reporter: one of the great clips i came across is you guys nodling together. how much of that is the secret sauce for the stones where you need to be together to do that. or have you involved past that? >> we need stood this. it's when we're not working it's a problem or could be.

otherwise, we've been working together. how you can all get along, once you're in the groove and stuff. it's very interesting. >> there was a time i thought i don't think it will happen again. i didn't mind, to be honest. >> there was a time it was in the balance when people would say oh, it looked like it. but i never believed it. some in the band have also tackled addiction. most notably keith's hard won battle with heroin. >> i have done it all. once you've done it all what are you going to do? you give it up and especially joy giving it up. the only thing i haven't done before was give things up.

>> he still enjoys a drink or three. but charlie watts, the elder stone has been a well behaved party man. and no partying for ronnie wood. he's been sober for a while. >> for a year. >> reporter: this is the first tour, though, right? test the will power? how's it going? >> going great. i handle things much easier. great support. it's a big deal when you do it first straight. ♪ i want to be your man >> reporter: thanks to eight weeks of all-day rehearsals to prepare for five shows. even though the tour was called "50 and counting" you can't help but wonder when this incredible run will end. charlie my darling goes back to
