>> abc7 news starts now with breaking news. >> good morning, at 5:00 a.m., we do have breaking news in san francisco, where several people have been shot in the mission district. >> abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is on the scene and joins from near 16th. amy? >> good morning, eric. we are in front of the bart station at 16th and mission. we got a briefing from the sergeant. he says three people were shot. you can see they still here working the scene. you can see the bullet markers. they believe there were ten rounds fired at the corner

hitting three people. two men were shot in their leg. the third person, the two people shot in their election are expected to survive. they are not sure how the third victim is doing this happened right before 4:00 this morning. police say they are not sure what the motive was. whether it was a drive-by shooting. it is under investigation the meanwhile, they are currently working another scene in san francisco in the bayview district separate from this district where we are in the mission, they do believe this is related to the shooting and they do have some people they have detained they are talking to. the sergeant at hour scene hasn't been fully briefed on what is happening in the bayview. he does believe they are related. it is currently a very fluid situation. investigators are working right now to try and get it pieced to speaking figure out what they have. at this scene we are waiting for the crime scene investigators.

it looks dry out there and clear as you make the drive in the westbound direction. kristen and eric? >> we have new details this morning in the deadly car crash that claimed the lives of three people, one driver is in jail this morning facing charges of vehicular man lawsuit. matt is near the scene. >> you can see a temporary memorial is set up on hillside boulevard. there are candles, and flowers and tools to remember the three people killed in a crash almost 24 hours ago. four friends were in a green mustang at 7:30 yesterday morning and it rear ended a honda and hit a retaining wall. three passengers were ejected. a witness saw the driver of the mustang identified by the police as 25-year-old paul diaz talk to one of the passengers. he was, baby, baby, baby, trying to get the girl's attention to see if she was alive. the girl did not respond.

so he went under the broken thing and he went under and walked down and did not come back. >> the three passengers died at the seen, a 23-year-old woman, and 21 and 22-year-old men all from daly city. diaz was booked in jail for vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run accident. the mustang was speeding and there is evidence of alcohol inside the vehicle. police searched the dallas city home of one of the victims' relatives it could take weeks to complete the investigation including the toxicology results. the driver of the honey -- honda was not seriously injured. >> police are searching for a man in concord would sideswiped a police car after an officer tried to stop him for public urination. our media partner, the "contra costa times" reports that the man was stopped by police last

night at 8:30. police say that the suspect drove off and he clipped a patrol while and caused minor damage. investigators believe the man is driving a white or silver four-door sedan possibly a honda accord. >> and now the caribbean cruise ship that caught fire. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo is in the newsroom with the latest. >> starting right now, grand door of the seas passenger are leaving every two hours headed if baltimore on chartered flights. we have new images from the ship, caution tape, fire hoses on the ground, smoke damage you can see there and a passenger who appears sick. there is the home video taken after the fire break identity early on monday at back of the shape and the crew actually ordered passengers not to take any pictures or video of the

disabled by an engine room fire. thousands of passengers endorsed unsanitary conditions and power outages for days while the ship was towed to mobile, alabama. >> a horse doing okay this morning after being rescued from a well in marin county. the intricate rescue was caught on video. a nine-year-old horse fell into a 25' well yesterday afternoon. authorities say the horse was walking over the covered well and the cover broke plunging him into the 20' deep water. a private crane company was called in to lift buddy from the well. he was finally freed after two hours. his owners plan to build a fence around the well saying they have only had the horse about a month. you can only imagine how scared the poor thing was. >> you are right. >> mike has the forecast. how wide-spread is the drizzle?

>> covering san rafael, south bay, pleasanton and all the bay area this is abc7 news. >> mike is paying careful attention to this story. if you have never seen the inside of a tornado before, look, a couple of brave storm chasers recorded this video in kansas yesterday afternoon. the pair were in the tank like vehicle called a tornado intercept vehicle with winds up to 175 miles per hour but the vehicle stayed on the ground the national weather service received reports of 16 possible tornadoes throughout the united states but no one was hurt here. >> video of a dramatic rescue showing crews working to free a newborn trapped inside a sewer pipe. the baby is alive but this video is hard to watch spending several hours in a sewage pipe leading from a public toilet in

eastern china. firefighters responded to a call on saturday from someone living in the building would reported hearing a baby crying in the toilet on the 4th floor. the baby was still attached to the placenta and is in serious condition this morning. investigators are trying to figure out how the child got there. >> the government of chile is preparing to evacuate thousands of people would live near an increasingly active volcano. the interior ministry has issued a red alert for people living in the footprint of the volcano at 10,000s foot mountain on the border of chile and argentina. 600 people have been evacuated and another 2,000 are packed and ready to go. this value contain's last major erupt was in 1992. >> air fares could go up again but you cannot blame the

northwest and the widing clouds are to the east where the deeper moisture is so our stream is drying. we will check out the winds they are manageable and most of us less than ten miles per hour until fairfield at 15 miles per hour and blowing inland which will keep the temperatures below average again today. you can see a few breaks in the cloud cover from sutro tower and a dry and warmer pattern developing tomorrow and more so on thursday. that sets the stage for a. wary than average weekend, opposite of the weekend we just lived through. here is a look at our system, you can see it pushing through as we speak. because of that, we are going to continue to see the cloud cover through the morning hours. here it is, with our future forecast, showing the clouds breaking up by 12:00 and more by 5:00, so we will be cloudy in

most areas wiping down the afternoon and headed in the evening. clouds gather and here is the next storm moving to the north, with sprinkles possible on the coast and the north bay tomorrow morning on the commute but that has more dry air behind it and we get in the sunshine tomorrowed helping the warming trend. today we disaster in the south bay with a low 70's in most areas and los gatos and morgan hill in the mid 70's and mid-to-upper 60's on the peninsula at redwood city at 69, and 61 at half moon bay a warm spot, and daly city at 59. low-to-mid 60's in sausalito with low-to-mid 70's through the north bay valley and san rafael at 71 and on the coast you are in the upper 50's and the not bay and low-to-mid 70's as you head through the east bay valley. a last look, tonight, the temperatures are cooler than this morning, with a few upper 40's but mostly mid-50's.

the storm passing to the north the temperatures will be in check and high pressure come ms. -- comes in and we jump 15 to 20 degrees between wednesday and friday. leyla gulen has the traffic. >> we have an update from the san francisco mission street which has re-opened where we had breaking news, a triple shooting. that is good news and muni could follow normal, resume normal service again. headed over to the east bay along highway 4 if you are traveling along in the westbound direction we are at 53 miles per hour, and jumping down to 49 miles per hour continuing in that western direction as we look at san jose, everything is green out here so we are looking at top speeds and here is a quick look at the drive time traffic at 26 minutes to get from antioch to concord and 87 from highway 85 to the san jose airport and 101 from petaluma to 580 is 20-minute commute.

>> abc7 news starts now with breaking news. >> good morning, at 5:29. >> we start with breaking news. san francisco police are investigating a triple shooting at a bart station and an officer injured in the bayview stopping a suspect vehicle. is there a connection? >>guest: abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is in the mission. what are police saying, amy? >> they do believe there is a connection. let me show you the latest at this scene at mission and 16th, they have shrunk the crime scene and opened most of mission street back up. this is a section of one lane that is blocked at bus stop. the victims remain shot here near this bus stop and another

was shot here near the bart station in the bart plaza. there were three suspects on victims total who were shot and they were taken to the hospital, survived the attack, two shot in the leg. it is unclear how the third victim is doing. i want to show you another seen, though, in the bayview and what police are working, they do believe they have involved the gun, a black semi-automatic pistol lying in the street with cartridges tossed. at cameron, a car crashed into two cars. the people in the car were taken into custody. an officer suffered some injuries, back pain and was able to walk himself into the ambulance is it looks like he will be okay but he is getting checked out. but it appears that the suspects crashed in the bayview and were brought in. now they trying to confirm they are the people responsible for

by other passengers and is expected in court today. it happened on alaskan airlines flight yesterday. witnesses say the 23-year-old made bizarre statements before trying to on the plane's emergency door. they jumped in to action tying him down with seatbelts and shoe places until the plane landed. his father said his son has a history of mental illness. he is charged with interfering with a night crew. >> firefighters struggling to get the upper hand this morning on a fast-moving wildfire that chased away thousands in southern california. the so-called white fire is burning outside santa barbara. authorities say it break out before 3:00 yesterday afternoon. 6,000 people evacuated including many from a popular cap ground packed with vacationers. the fire burned a forest service garage and two vehicles and is new threatening homes.

crews are counting on cooler weather and higher humidity to get the fire under control. >> hercules officials could vote to sell the troubled electric utility to pg&e for $9.5 million. the municipal utility was created in 2002 as a profit making venture for the city but the company has continuously lost money, laid off workers and had their credit rating downgraded to junk status. customers complain they pay up to 40 percent more than pg&e. the voters approved the sale when they passed the proposition last june. >> and the sharks fight their way to game seven tonight against the kings in los angeles. the home team won every game in the playoff series so far, and the sharks beat the kings at the tank on sunday to even the series at three games each and the winner advances to the western conference finals and will have to be up for the challenge because the kings have
