>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> evidence markers drop the ground where bullet casings came to arrest. san francisco police are investigating a triple shooting outside the 16th street bart station. good morning, i am eric thomas. >> i am kristen sze. three people are in custody arrested in a different part of the city after a chase. >> abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield has more from the police station. >> this is where it all ended. we are just getting new details from the police.

they are saying there were two groups of men at 16th and mission. the two groups got into an altercation and this was an attempted robbery and then the triple shooting. >> three men in their 40's were gunned down at 16th and mission before 4:00 this morning. the 40 and 47-year-old men were shot in the legs but the 46-year-old victim is suffering from life-threatening injuries. the victim shot in the torso was struck and that is all we have. >> the witnesses and victims got a look at the car which helped police. >> officers in the bay you have district located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop that vehicle. it appears the suspect vehicle backed into our paw -- patrol vehicle. >> police arrested the three men in the car and one officer was injured. they found a semi-automatic

handgun they believed they tossed out of the car. this started as a robbery and now trying to learn more about the men they have arrested. >> police are now trying to get interviews with the suspects and the victims to try and figure out why this happened. >> right now investigators are ready to start locking into a strip mall fire in antioch that gutted five businesses. investigators say the fire broke out inside one of the businesses before 8:30 west of delta fair boulevard. it quickly spread to adjoining businesses and firefighters had to back out, fearing the building could collapse and took up positions outside to keep the flames from spreading. >> new details in a car that are that killed three. a daly city man is in jail after the mustang ran into another

vehicle and split in two. matt has the latest. >> paul diaz is still in jail on $750,000 bail. i spoke with the d.a. and they say that the arraignment on charges related to the triple fatal crash has been postponed until tomorrow. this comes as the police department revealed new details to me about where diaz went after the crash. >> the scene was hard to look at memorial day morning, a green mustang split in two after rear ending a honda. three were ejected and died. more than 24 hours later, a different scene, a memorial with candles and new worries and the names of the victims, a 23 -year-old woman, 21 and 22-year-old man all from daly city. friends and family left tools at the memorial. three was mechanic.

always willing to help. >> she was always there, willing to participate in something or help someone. really nice guy. >> paul diaz was speeding in the mustang and believe alcohol was factor. he was the only survivor from the >> he was "baby, baby, baby," trying to get the girl's attention to see if she was alive. the girl didn't respond back so he went under the broken thing and he went under and walked down and did not come back up. >> police revealed new details of the investigation saying that he fled the scene to this daly city home believed to be related to his girlfriend and victim, rosa. police collected evidence from the crash scene but they don't know where he went before turning himself into police six hours after the crash. >> police say they expect the toxicology reports to take several weeks.

>> matt, thank you. we have new details on d.u.i. arrests during the holiday weekend, and it has been busy for the california highway troll and 15 traffic deaths on the roads over the memorial day weekend is four more than last year, and six of those killed were not wearing seatbelts. more than 1,100 were arrested for driving under the influence, slightly down great last year. in the bay area, there have been 165 d.w.i.'s arrests and two fatal crashes. >> federal law enforcement officials are investigating threatening and lewd messages against peninsula congresswoman. a former marine and several current marines are being investigated for allegedly posting messages on social media that threaten her and president obama. one accused spear of trampling first amendment rights. the democratic congresswoman called attention to sexual abuse in the military and urged the shutdown of vulgar facebook pages linked to military personnel. >> happening now the coast guard

and ntsb will investigate the five that cut short a week her long caribbean cruise. the 2,200 passengers on board the shipboarded charter flights today for the first leg of their trip hope. katie marzullo is in the tweet from royal caribbean says flights from the bahamas to baltimore will continue throughout today and the company tweets they providing ferry and bus or train service for 25 people who do not want to fly, whichever mode of transportation they pick, the vacation is over. >> this is what cruise passengers leave: the grandeur of the seas looking less grand than when it left baltimore sitting empty in bahamas a day earlier after being in emergency mode. in this video can you hear a crew member shouting instructions to passengers, passengers who had just rolled out of bed and into life jackets. >> they started lowering down the lifeboats and we were in a

panic. >> fire erupted in a bar and dining area. these are images from onboard, caution tape, fire hoses and smoke damage. the company president flew to the bahamas to see the blackened aftermath for himself. some passengers say the company is down playing the situation. they say they heard explosions and saw fireballs shooting from the ship. >> big explosion. then the fire came out. we had to go somewhere else. >> the ship was not evacuated. royal caribbean say they never lost power and they say no one was seriously injured but 20 people became sick. everyone is getting a refund. and 50 percent off their next cruise. >> as for what is next for the grandeur of the seas, royal caribbean will have information on future sailing by the end of the week. >> a new report out this morning shows the biggest jump in home prices in almost seven years.

the standard & poor's index shows united states home prices jumped 10.9 percent in march compared to a year ago, the biggest jump since april of 2006. experts say more buyers are bidding on short supplies driving prices higher. in the bay area home prices in san francisco rose by 22.2 percent in the past 12 months. phoenix prizes rose slightly higher percentage and las vegas prices saw the third largest growth with 21 percent jump. the big jump in home prices spark add rally on wall street this morning, and you can see from this big board at the new york stock exchange, the dow is up over 97 points, 100 points up and investors are reacting that consumer confidence hit a 5-year high this month. experts say that could lead to better conditions for businesses and more hiring ahead. >> among the big winners on wall street today, palo alto-based tesla, the electric carmaker

>> in santa barbara, new members on the massive wildfire burning in the national forest. the last hour the forest service says it has grown do 1,hull -- 1,800 acres and only 40 percent contained. firefighters will not have it fully contained, it is thought, until maybe june 3rd and burning since year. >> high school student in oregon is hailed as a hero for telling his mom his friend wasmenting to blow up the school with explosive hidden in the floorboard of his room an hour from portland. he will be charged as an adult

including attempted aggravated murder. the friend's mother called 9-e and counselors are meeting with students returning from the holiday week. >> a newborn baby boy is alive after being freed from a sewer pipe. this video could be hard to watch. a person in an apartment building in china her the baby's cries coming from a public toilet on saturday. rescuers sawed out a section of the pipe and the newborn was cut flow at the hospital. records are the child moves mother may have turned him in the toilet and police trying to track her down. the baby is in stable condition in a hospital. people worldwide are offering to help, some say they want to adopt the little boy. >> a horse is safe on stable ground involving from nerves this morning, after almost drawning in a well in marin county. this rescue was caught on camera. it took a crane company and several people to lift the nine-year-old horse out of the 25' well.

9:00 this evening and west win at 15- to 25-knots. sustained wins around ten miles per hour, and some of you were faster at 12 miles per hour but nothing too aggressive. we will look, then, at port of oakland as we look from emeryville and you can see the bank of clouds further to the south on the peninsula and the reason why we have the flight arrival delays into sfo. it will be sunny and dry this afternoon and dry and warmer pattern develops after one more storm tonight and that is a dry and warm pattern that pushes us above average, 80's and 90's away from the coast and the coast will get warmth, also, and we can see the golden gate bridge until another patch of clouds came in but it is not so thick. this is an area we are dealing with the low clouds this morning. oakland and san francisco are three degrees warmer than yesterday. and up to possibly 15 degrees warmer. and concord will have bigger ups. low-to-mid 70's for the santa

clara valley and as we head up to the peninsula, we will start around 70 and drop down to 64 when you head to south san francisco. temperatures are 61 at half moon bay and 60 in the sunset, and low do mid-60's around downtown, and south san francisco, and, also, sausalito. and low-to-mid 70's through the north bay valley and upper 50's at the beaches and over to the east bay shore we have 66 in berkeley and reaching 70 in fremont and hercules. now, the game, specifically, starting partly cloudy and get mostly cloudy by the end of game from 62 at first pitch at 7:05 and close at 10 at 54. the giants will feel at home and they would probably like more of a breeze than what they will get there. temperatures tonight are running in the low-to-mid 50's but up across the north bay, tonight, we have one more system on this jet stream pushing the moisture into our neighborhoods and just a little bit of moisture so drizzle is possible tonight,

especially near the coast, and our higher elevation and a shower is possible as this storm system sideswipes us right across the north bay so here we are this afternoon, can you see the sun breaking through the clouds but there will still be plenty of clouds. you can see the increase in clouds by 2:00 in the morning, and, from that time all the way through 7:00, there will be a stray shower that is possible and we will get some cooler and dry air on the back side of this system. you can see how much more sunshine we will get tomorrow. temperatures tomorrow are going to be a lot like today. so well start to see the warming trend thursday, and look at friday, saturday, and sunday, and we will push 70 at the coast and we will get in the upper 80's around the bay and low-to-mid 90's inland so summer is coming, just a weekend late. you can find us, also, on twitter@abcnews for the latest bay area weather conditions, rain or shine, and video forecast and "spare the air" alerts and power outages and weather tweets.

>> thank you. listen to this, a study suggests a mother's weight while pregnant can actually influence chemical triggers in a child still in the womb. canadian researchers tested children born to women before and after they had obesity surgery and they found kids born after mom lost lots of weights were slimmer than those born before the surgery with fewer risk factors for developing diabetes or heart disease later if life. the findings are in from the natural academy of science. if you look for the happiest country on earth, australia is the wolf's happiest according to a new index from the organization for economic cooperation and development. number two is sweden. canada is at third. norway is fourth, and swiss lend is 5th, and the usa is number six. this is based on economic conditions including household wealth, and work/life balance.
