>> a lot more on the bart situation but san francisco firefighters are on the scene of a fire at a popular restaurant that broke out and spread to an apartment building. amy hollyfield is at 14th and full some. >> restaurant chose -- chez is on fire. the damage is significant inside. the damage was burning for a while before someone called it in. the fire was a big one. firefighters got the call at 1:30. no one was inside the restaurant but they say the fire spread to the two buildings next door. one was a resident. >> we got a car for a fire at a restaurant from the neighborhoods.

we had a one story restaurant fully involved extending to the exposure with people involved, living in the exposure and we got them out. >> no one was hurt in the fire. firefighters think they got the fire knocked out in 30 minutes. because there were three buildings involved they estimate the damage is more than $1.5 million. this is a restaurant that opened in 2002. and name after their son, spencer. they do not know what caused the fire at this point. >> thank you. we have breaking news from the washington, dc, area workers two are rushed to a hospital after a small plane slammed into an apartment building. katie marzullo is in the newsroom with amazing pictures. >> you have to see them. we actually have live pictures to show you, from a distance, an apartment building, three story

apartment building in the center of the screen and a huge gaping whole in the of radio. the plane, already loaded on to the back of a flatbed truck with crews pulling it from the apartment building moments ago. we will show you the video as a huge crane pulls the cessna out of the roof of the building. fire official says the plane ran out of fuel and it crashed but it was good news after at crash because there was no haz-mat or fire situation. the fire official said that building is structurally intact. also, only minor injuries, two people hurt, one who was on the plane and the other person was in the parent building. they both went to the hospital. injuries are not serious. nine adults, seven children, and three pets had to be evacuated from the building of at crash. the plane was coming from philadelphia headed for a regional airport in virginia and the pilot tried to land in

check point. officials reviewed security footage showing she and her husband boarding the bus with only blankets, bottles water and her hurricane. she spoke to the media and thanked mexican authorities for treatment and the well wishers from supporters. >> the san jose police department will deploy extra officers for the weekend following several days of shocking violence. seven students, four murders, since sunday. 41 additional officers are on patrol, 37 out tomorrow, and 34 officers on duty on sunday. additionally, officials say gang suppression officers the be deployed in known gang hotspots. yesterday morning, a 19-year-old was shot and killed in front of an elementary school in east san jose after just moving to the neighborhood a month ago and gang members began approaching him. >> never in trouble, nothing, never hung out with bad people.

sorry to say but san jose is in much better shape. how is the weather? mike nicco? >> good morning. we will start with live doppler 7 hd showing how dry it is outside this morning. no worries as getting around weather-wise. we have winds but, notice, they are not over the bay area in the delta like the last couple of days and that is good if you are headed out there to get relief. if you are headed to the ocean the areas highlighted, northern winds are fatter at 20 to 35 knots with gusts up to 40 knots so it will be choppy with rip current. the temperatures are the big story, low-to-mid 80's for most of the south bay and in santa clara, 87 in los gatos and gilroy. toasty on the peninsula with temperatures in the low 80's, around redwood city and pale appeal and toward los altos and check out half moon bay today, 66 degrees, 65 in daly city.
