where we have the biggest drop at 78 at 4:00. and a comfortable 68 by 7:00. now the morning commute. leyla gulen? >> except for congestion, the rest of it is comfortable and we had a solo cash that just cleared in the east bay along westbound 580 at keller avenue. if san jose, this is where we have a construction project that will last until 7:00 a.m., southbound 880 between highway 237 and south bay freeway to great mall parkway we have a couple of lanes blocked with cones picked up at 7:00. right now, in san jose, again, 897 beyond the julian off-ramp is six minutes to make the drive from the northbound direction to h.p. pavilion. >> breaking news now in san francisco public works crews are expected to arrive to start chopping up a tree that is blocking one of the business of the streets in the city right

now. matt keller joins us with what is happening on lombard street. is it affecting the golden gate bridge? >> it is clear in the westbound direction is not so thick so it is good if you can take the detours around the tree that fell across the three westbound lanes on lombard. they still have traffic blocked off with the tree right there in the middle of the road. here is a look of the tree and the damage at a parked lexus. the tree acrosses three westbound lanes. the eastbound lanes are open. police are detouring the drivers to chestnut. >> i am glad no one was hurt. the whole tree is out, coming up from the roots. that is crazy. >> few trees like this have fallen across the city most likely because of the wind. it wasn't windy overnight but it

could have loosened it up and causing it to fall over because it appears older. crews have a special truck for trees and we are waiting for them to arrive scheduled to start work at 7:00. we are told they are coming in early to take care of this but no estimated time of arrival of. >> we will continue to follow that. if you are driving through the east bay give yourself extra time if you cross the richmond san rafael bridge. we have video caltran says drivers should expect delays. now work has been started to replace the bridge decks. westbound traffic is being shifted to the eastbound lanes on the approach to the toll plaza. drivers headed west will move across the median for a warmer mile before -- a quarter mile before shifting back. you can see the lane realignment

and construction zone on this map. the western drive eastbound 580 is closed, as well, so big rigs have to make a nine mile detour lasting three months. >> bart is back to normal and the first morning commute sin the transbay tube crash led to long delays. breaking news unfolded on abc7 news on friday, two maintenance vehicles collided damaging the tracks. that led to system tracking of bart trains for the long delays on bart and the bay bridge as people jumped into their cars. bart says the cause is still under investigation. >> in the north bay a san francisco woman is recovering from major injuries after crashing her bicycle in fairfax. the woman crashed her bicycle yesterday on sir francis drake boulevard. the highway patrol says the 39-year-old went out of control as she descended the hill and is

at the marin general hospital. >> police in santa rosa are trying to identify the woman found in a creek by two 12-year-old girls, finding the body yesterday afternoon in a shallow portion of the creek near hidden valley park. the woman did not have any identification. investigators say there were no signs of trauma but they do not suspect foul play. detectives are looking at missing persons. >> the powerhouse fire in southern california is threatening more homes and moving to the populated antelope valley. 3,000 people if lake hughes and lake elizabeth have been evacuated 50 miles north of los angeles. new video shows the flames and size of the fire and six homes have been destroyed and 15 are damaged. since it began on thursday the fire burned 35 square miles of brush and some have not burned

since 1929. there is high wind and thick smoke and only 20 percent contained. >> the search for a missing teen who was kept over a fall in yosemite will resume this morning. the 19-year-old went swimming in the river on saturday afternoon during a hike with his church group. he was caught in the current and went over the fall which is 600' high. teams spent all of yesterday looking for the boy and dogs have been brought in to try to track his scent but there is no sign. >> volunteers widen the search for a missing san francisco teen who is recovering from a traumatic brain injury. police say the 19-year-old sean sidi hasn't been seen since may 21, two welcome when three told his data he was going to the park. searchers met at the county fair building yesterday to plan where they would look for sean sidi. a cell phone suggests he may have been in that area, and his

bridge where traffic will flow more slowly because of a construction project with lanes diverted, two lanes going westbound that used to go eastbound and you get the full run down from leyla gulen and amy hollyfield and the cooler forecast from meteorologist mike nicco. >> happening today president obama will host a conference at the white house aimed at launching a national conversation on mental health. the white house says the conference will bring together several people including mental health advocates, education indicators and patients suffering from mental health. a goal is to reduce the stigma associated with mental health disorders. >> the food and drug administration is considering lifting restrictions on the diabetes pill lynched -- links to heart attacks and ask a panel of experts whether it should reconsider restrictions on

avandia. the f.d.a. banned the use of the prescription drug after studies showed it raised the risk of heart attack by 40 percent. a top official is defending this saying there are too many unanswered questions about the safety of avandia. >> apple appears to be closer to launching the internet radio service with "new york times" reporting that apple finalized negotiations with warner music group over the weekend to stream the collection. last month apple reached a share beach with universal music and talks are underway with sony. it would be similar to pandora which will debut june 10th. start today, yahoo is discontinuing their old version of e-mail service and users are forced to upgrade to the new version. getting the new version means is to accept the new privacy policy

fairfield at 21 and ten at half moon bay where you have a sea breeze developing and everyone else is below ten miles per hour but the clouds are coming in above the reporting stations. you can see the clouds over the bay but notice as we look at walnut creek it is sunny. with the sea breeze coming in, it will be cooler the next two days, and then cloudsnd temperatures will drop into the 50's and cool in some spots and am wary weekend is ahead. if you liked last weekend and were sorry to see it end you will like this weekend. late arriving marine layer that will pull back quickly with breaks developing at noon. partly sunny in the 50's and 60's for the heart of the bay and 70's inland with a few 80's in the east bay valley. possibly gilroy, too, but most of the santa clara valley is in the mid-70's today. 64 at millbrae, 66 at san mateo,

clear conditions out there. >> thank you, just shy of 6:32. drives who travel between the east and north bay need to get out of the house earlecause of a major construction project. it is expected to cause some delays on the richmond and san rafael bridge even if we do not see them yet. now to the bridge. >> drivers are taking it in stride. this monday morning, they are, well, i can handle this. you can see the richmond side, the westbound approach and the backup doesn't look too bad but we are slowing down and crammed in in but they now have fewer lanes for the same a traffic to get through here each day and it will be this way for a while. here is video of the drive we took early this morning, and you now have an s-curve approaching the toll plaza on the richmond side. it is not like the one on the bay bridge, not is strong of an

s but it is something new. you do have fewer lanes which could mean a backup. >> two lanes are traffic going westbound, two lanes traffic going eastbound, and this area we have shifted traffic on. we go down quarter-mile and westbound traffic runs to the toll plaza. >> here are the grands showing the plan, one part of this that could be an issue it is so tight they do not is a shoulder so there if -- if there is a fender bender, there could be a problem. the western on-ramp is closed with a detour and they will replace the bridge decks. you will make this part of your routine for a while because they think it will take about three months. >> drivers should not expect a

swift commute through this area with work going to replace a water pipe that has been there since, get this, 1883. it will be at redhill avenue and sir francis drake boulevard. plan for delays around the site. >> there are problems with the light show on the western span of the bay bridge. the nightly light show on the bay bridge debuted this march when 25,000 l.e.d. lights were officially switched on. the "san francisco chronicle" reports that hundreds of the bulbs are stuck in "on" or in "off off," so the dancing effects are not happening. >> new this morning police in oakland are investigating an overnight shooting that left three people injured happening in downtown oakland near 13th and webster just before 1:00

o'clock, three people were found with gun shot wounds and they are expected to survive. no arrests have been made. >> oakland police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old who was just released from juvenile hall. the latest of six shootings that left ten others injured over the weekend. witnesses say the teen was gunned down at the intersection by someone wearing a ski mask. >> police in vallejo are searching for a gunman and a motive in the murders of two fathers at a birthday party. the 52-year-old sanchez was celebrating his birthday and a man walked up and opened fire into the garage. sanchez was skilled with his friend, 41-year-old gonzales seen in a picture taken years ago. both leave behind four children eve and two others were wounded. they do not believe the murders are gang related.

>> trial begins for to men accused in gang rape and beating of a richmond girl charged in the october 2009 attack of a 16-year-old outside richmond high school after a homecoming dance. a rare duel jury trial is scheduled for the 20 and 22-year-old men. two juries will hear the witness testimony together and then will deliberate separately. eight people were charged and some have been sentenced and others have trials coming up. >> the supreme court today could hand down their decision on the california ban on same-sex marriage as soon as this morning but a decision could come any time this month. the high court heard arguments in washington back to march and abc7 news will bring you the ruling and a reaction to it the moment it comes down. >> we have developing news in southern california right now where the powerhouse fire remains a major threat. this is a look as it burned in the angeles national forest 50

oakland, right under 880, this street is where we have a car fire so smoke is pouring out of the car and offer the freeway. that should cause visibility problems in the area. the waze app shows another accident looking like a major accident northbound 880 at 92, with heavy conditions according to our wazers heavy traffic is reported in the area and you can always traffic your own traffic with the exclusive abc7 news waze app. and berkeley the drive is slow coming from highway four to the maze it is 19 minutes. >> right now, two members of san francisco's police department's mounted patrol unit are quite literally headed to greener pastures. police horses like officers cannot stay on the job forever so the department will hold a retirement ceremony for two

>> it is. we have new news in the last minute or so, we saw a work crew arrive and we have a chain saw on the scene, about to get working on this tree here and if we look from sky 7 you can see where the tree sits on lombard falling across all three lanes and on the lexus trunk. all eastbound lanes are open and no one was hurt. police do not think it impacts traffic to the golden gate bridge. drivers are routed to chestnut or greenwich. >> i work in the area and i saw the tree down. it is crazy. just crazy. >> a few trees have fallen recently most likely because of the wind. workers say it could have

loosened this up leading it to fall because it appears to be an old are tree. we were told a special truck was going to arrive and this is the truck they were using, one man with the chain saw here and right now we have no word on how long it will take him to cut up this tree and clean it up and for lombard to open back up. >> thank you, new this morning, rescuers hope to fine workers still unaccounted for after deadly fire in china. the death toll has raise be to 113 people at a poultry slaughterhouse in northeast china. more than 300 were in the plant when the blaze broke out. only 100 managed to escape. survivors say that one of the doors was locked and the narrow hall way and exits made rescue work difficult. >> 6:47. 7/11 has major expansion plans. a big day for apple, too.

and possibly warmer than last weekend next week. until then, it is monday so we will watch the cloud cover and see how quickly it dissipates by noon and at the coast we will see a few pockets of sunshine and stuck in the brick 50's and 60's at the bay shore and the south bay and north bay and east game valley, 70's and possibly an 88 down the in gilroy but this is the exception. everyone else is in the throw mid 50's 70's and low 60's or mid-60's at millbrae, and mid-50's along the coast and low did mid-50's in sausalito. low-to-mid 70's through the north bay valley. up to extent in castro valley. headed in the east bay valley the breeze coming up crow canyon keeps san ramon 76 and everyone else in the upper 70's to low 80's. as we head through this week in san jose, hopefully you will get
