>> sunny pockets. what a name! >> clear conditions, but more congested building on the road. we have construction projects wrapping up in san jose along the nimitz. morning and southbound between brokaw and the south bay freeway and the cones are being picked up in green conditions which means you are at top speed. eastbound 580 the lanes were blocked earlier and the westbound direction we are down to 36 miles per hour. right now, you can see what is happening on the golden gate bridge, a nice drive from sausalito and into san francisco. in oakland a man is dead a woman is in the hospital after someone fired into the minivan. the van crashed into a power pole a few minutes later sparking a transformer fire.

[ inaudible ] could not see anything. >> this is not the first time it happened. in march, large rocks crashed down, again, on the southbound side of 101 in sausalito the three cars were damaged and the driver of the more said s.u.v. had to go to the hospital and was treated for minor injuries. officials have said the hillside has been stable for years but has a history of rock slides. the good news is the timing, the one to march happened at 4:45 and this one at 2:15 so not a heavy traffic impact time and three of the four lanes were closed while they cleaned it up. >> thank you, to the peninsula,

now, authorities are warning women who use a popular trail after a weekend attack. abc7 news reporter matt keller has the story. >> behind me is the popular trail in palo alto people who use it regularly say it always felt safe but feel differently after a woman was attacked on sunday. police say it happened half hala mile from where we are standing. a woman notice add man falling her from east palo alto. he fold her for three miles before attack her from behind next to the golf course. police say she was able to for it him off and two bicyclists stopped to help. the suspect ran off. this concerned people who use the trail. >> we watch out for each other. we will do our 5-k away from that area. >> another woman was follow by

then another mini heat wave. good morning, here is live doppler 7 hd showing no wet weather other than possible drizzle along the coast and higher elevations. it is very unlikely that will be wide-spread. the day planner around the bay the next 12 hours is overcast and 53 degrees and sunny by noon and mid-60's and upper 60's this afternoon. the temperature will be dropped to 60 by 7:00. the next 12 hours, inland valleys we have more cloud cover in the east bay valley than this time yesterday at 54, and sunny at noon and near 70 and mid-to-upper 70's and close to average in the afternoon and a night comfortable freeze -- breeze in the evening. clouds open at noon and more sunshine headed through 4:00 and as we hang out in the mid-to-upper 50's for the day. hope you have a good day. leyla gulen has the traffic. >> we do have one accident in orinda and this is where we taking you along highway 24

area's 15 largest cities reported higher levels of violent crime last year compared to 2011. oakland saw an increase in both violent and property crime and the city has the highest per capita crime rate in the state. other cities with uptick in violent crime include san francisco, richmond, berkeley and antioch. >> a big day for the city of alameda as it gets control of the formal made naval air station. the 1,300 acre base was closed in 1997 to get rid of unneeded military bases. originally, the navy asked alameda to put up $100 million to pay for transferring the land to the city but in 2011 though agreed to transfer it back to 9 city at no cost. alameda officials hope re-developing the site will create thousands of jobs and generate lots of tax revenue. >> a wildfire burning out of control in southern california is now 60 percent contained. firefighters hoped cooler

>> police are releasing a sketch of man who attacked a woman while jogging here on the bay land preserve trail. police say it happened on sunday morning less than half a mile away from the bay land center, the woman in her 30's said she first noticed the man following her crossing the bridge from east palo alto and he followed her for they miles before attacking her from behind next to the palo alto golf course and started to grope her. >> he was able to fight him off, two bicyclists came by and the culmination of all that scared the people away. >> palo alto police say this was the second of two incidents at the bay land nature preserve sunday and they believe the same man followed another woman 45 minutes earlier but stopped short of physically attacking her and the man is around 20 years old, 5' 8" weighing 1 pound pounds with black buzz hair and wearing a clear coloredded studded earrings in both ears. police are increasing patrols in
