>> both sides of the parkway are closed while fremont police investigate what caused this red honda to crash into the curb and hit a tree before 1:00 this afternoon. witnesses tell abc 7 news that the car was moving in a fast speed up to 100 miles per hour when it appeared to lose control. the car hit a tree and was split in half. the front bumper landed in the street. no other swrerkz involved and no one was walking in the path of the car at the crash. three people were inside of the vehicle. a male driver, female passenger and a child in a car seat. a nearby resident was with the first to respond, only identifying herself by a first name, caylee. >> i ran into them and asked how many people were in the car. he said his wife, and his son. i looked around the other part of the car. you didn't know where waits at. it was in a driveway at someone else's house in front of a tree. i looked to see if she was

okay. she was not responsive, kind of breathing. then i ran to look for the son. his son was dead in the car seat. >> sky 7 was overhead this, gives you a sense of the speed to break up the four door sedan both driver and the passengers have been take dwron a trauma passenger for injuries. ples confirmed the 2-year-old boy has died. the woman passenger had to be extracted by a rescue unit. fremont police say the northbound lanes were closed while conducting their duct the investigation. and names of the victims have not been released. david louie abc 7 news. >> thank you. >> the arte mismt s racing team returned to san francisco bay for the first time since a teammate was killed.

sky 7 was overhead. the team practiced this afternoon. the swedish sailing team is considering whether to compete following the death of one of the sailors. andrew bart simpson died when the boat cap sized. artemis racing says it will only compete if the team feels safe. >> abc 7 news learned 6 another case of hepatitis a linked to a frozen berry mix sold by costco. a 22-year-old woman became ill last month. there are three local cases includingal media county. all in the hospital and have been released. townsend farms is recalling the item. two target stores issued alerts to pharmacy customers we'll have the story coming up on abc 7 news at 5:00. >> palo alto police just released this sketch of a man who sexual assaulted a woman jogging on sunday.

the victim did manage to get away. her attacker described as 20 years old weighing about 16 pounds. he has black hair, clean shaven with clear studded earrings in both ears. police say she was jogging along a trail around 11:00 sunday morning. the man takd her from behind and groped her. >> a homeowner is looking for a place to stay after an suv plowed into his house. it happened before 5:30 this this morning. officials say the driver had trouble with a steep road. the homeowner wants to stay someplace else until repairs are finished. >> san jose acting police chief appears to be saying no thanks by efforts to nora campos to bring in the patrol to help reduce violence in the city. last week san jose had five

20-year-old suspects are accused of raping her, prosecutors say both suspects at dna and condoms found you near the assault. a service that lets travelers rent out their vehicles is running into trouble. the city is suing the operator of flight car this start up allows travelers to rent out cars while away. flight cars founder says the service operates off skpit shouldn't have to pay fees. the city says if a company serves travelers it must pay airport fee autos historic drake's bay os sister farm is getting more support to stay open at the point reyes national sea shore. calling for an investigation into the decision to close down the company. in november ken salazar aloud a 40 year lease to expire. city load leaders believe he

chrysler refusing a request to recall nearly three million vehicles to fix fuel tanks that may leak. the national transportation safety board wants chrysler to recall jeep grand cherokees from 1993 to 2004 as well as jeep liberties from twut to 2007. the agency has been investigating this fuel tank issue since 2010. chrysler says they're safe and says and any request is based on incomplete data. this is the first time a challenge on a federal recall

health and human services secretary taking heat in the case of a pennsylvania girl in dire need of a lung transplant. republican lawmaker chastised the refusal to change transplant policy in order for the 10-year-old to receive the lungs she needs to survive. guidelines disqualify sarah from receiving an adult lung until she's 12. he was trying to explain why she's refused to intervene but price cut her off. >> the history of rules around lung transplants are. >> secretary, it is simply. >> dr. price. >> i've got to reclaim my time. it simply takes your signature. a study i know you've ordered. a study will take over a year this, young lady will be dead. >> saying experts should make policy change decisions not her. the girl is at the top of the list but no donor lungs have
