>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> oakland police need your help to catch the shooter who killed a young man after an argument avow a traffic accident. he would have turned 23 today. he just graduated from college. good morning, i am kristen sze. application are offering a $10,000 reward to put him away. he was shot to death on market street in west oakland. we are joined from the scene. >> from what i gather, there was a personal connection to this

murder, a car accident that was settled with a gun. police say it started down here at corner of stanford and market street the victim just got done playing basketball with his friend on the campus of cal and driving home to emeryville and rear ended near the corner. it was caught on the surveillance cameras. it was caught on surveillance cameras on homes and businesses. the victim turned on market street and pulled up to the bus stop right over here and got out and two men, two suspects, in a newer model silver sedan, stepped out and shot him. police say the shot spotter recorded one shot at 11:00 p.m. and they are looking for the suspects who killed a 23-year-old man who recently graduated from oregon state university. >> this is unfortunate. our victim is a male asian, turning 23 today. today was his birthday. he is not able to share in his

23rd birthday. >> a family came to the seen this morning and the victim's car which was a newer model jeep that did not appear to be badly damaged so we believe he was shot outside of the car. the police just released the victim's name. we should be learning more about him later today. reporting from oakland for abc7 news. >> new this morning, san jose police are investigating the city's 23th homicide. police got the call after 12:30 this morning and a man had stab wounds in front of a home. he was taken to the hospital and died an hour later. police not releasing his identity until the coroner notifies his family. officers believe he was 56. >> san francisco police are investigating a double homicide before 1:00 o'clock a.m. in the visitation valley nerd. police found two shooting

victims near the park. three suspects drove away in a white truck. >> right now, san francisco police are guarding a former community farm. police moved to remove the reports who were occupying the land. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo joins us with this story. this was very confrontational, katie? >> it was for some depending who you ask. right now, you can see police are on the corner behind us. also, some police line blocking off the sidewalks, and police go all the way around the perimeter of the former hayes valley community farm. the sergeant on the scene described it as "very peaceful." the protesters see it differently. police gave several warnings before moving in and dozens of proffers left on their own, but these refused to come down from the trees and one found the

ground the hard way. protesters say the man was pushed. officers say, no way. >> everyone was done as safe as possible. if a person might have fallen from a tree it was totally an accident. >> this man was the last to leave and you can see the police hoisting him in a cherrypicker and this man returned to the scene out of jail and sporting a black eye. he showed us this citation, one count of trespassing and one count of resisting arrest. >> i stepped in, i stepped this to make this easy they got me in this position they punch me in the head. >> this is after a week of occupation the protesters do not want to see this former community farm become a condo. >> the system is wrong to support profit over human beings, the people of san francisco know that. >> occupiers say they will be back but the trees could be gone as construction crews are moving

performing acrobatic moves and grabbing passengers inside the 16th street mission station. >> along highway 24 it is slow after a car carrier caught on fire just at the commute was getting underway. the carrier was hauling nine chryslers on westbound 24 and a fire broke out before 5:00 a.m. and seven of the nine cars were totally destroyed. at first three of the four lanes were closed, and traffic was backed up for miles and it took several hours for the highway patrol to re-open and get everyone rolling again. >> the wildfire bumping near colorado springs is now destroyed 360 homes making it the most destructive in colorado history. authorities fear the total will go higher. the sheriff deputies have not been able to verify the condition of 79 homes and the fires burning near where the waldo canyon fire burned 347 homes last year which was

>> caltran and alameda county have broken ground on a new lane to be built to help the congestion. still extend westbound 580 from greenville road in livermore to the san ramon foohill road in dublin. a san francisco district attorney is attending a smartphone summit in new york city to discuss the rise in cell phone theft and how to prevent it. he is joining new york state attorney general and representatives from the cell phone industry including apple, google, and samsung. he has been pushing cell phone makers to create new technology so stolen phone can be quickly disabled by a so-called "kill" switch and be made less valuable. >> former c.i.a. contract who

jump from may of last year, up 38 percent. san jose was second at 30 percent and san francisco third at 18 percent. seller confidence is on the rise across the nation with homes on the market for a shorter period of time compared to last year. >> eye opening statistics show the rate alcoholism is on rise in san francisco. the number of emergency room trips for abuse has been climbing recently. the majority of patients are men between the age of 45 and 64. the findings were released at a meeting of city leaders looking to improve health throughout the city. they plan to roll out outreach campaigns to reduce the rate of alcoholism in the hardest hit areas. >> common chemical found in food packaging could increase the risk of obesity in young girls. b.p.a. is found in food containers. a kaiser permanente study find

75 on the coast is the high and 81 in morgan hill and fremont, and 76. up the peninsula, 73 degrees is the high. 69 in san francisco, and in the north bay, 84 degrees in santa rosa and in napa, and vallejo, we are look at upper 80's and if you are in the east bay valley, you are going to be kissing about 86 degrees. game day forecast, the a's are hosting yankees and you have 70 degree stat. by the end of the game we will be at 74 degrees so pack a sweater to get started and you can get it of it. clear skies overnight but the temperatures are chilly along the coast and 51 degrees in santa cruz. half moon bay is 49. as you move inland well lack at 60 degrees in antioch. our seven-day outlook shows thursday inland we are at 86 degrees. friday we are at 90 degrees.
