>> nothing wrong with that. develop news in san francisco, activists will be back in the former hayes valley farm a day after a police raid chased the protesters off the site. amy hollyfield is near the site. amy? >> look at this police presence. they have a huge van blocking laguna street and they have police officers surrounding the perimeter. they are making sure that no protesters return. they are watching for them. they are trying to prevent trespassers taking over the land. police kicked them off the land yesterday in the of night hours can they made seven arrests in the process including three people in trees and refused to come down. protesters are upset because the land is set to be developed into apartments. they want it to stay friend.

they want it to stay as open space. there was word they were going to come back and take it over. right now, they are not here. it is quiet. if they did show up they would have quite a force of police officers to deal with. >> thousands of oakland city workers have authorize add strike in no progress is made in contract talks. the employ ears asking for raises that the city says they cannot afford. city leaders are underestimating tax revenue according to the union members and have been protesting. the workers have not set a dated for possible strike. it would be the first employee walkout since 1946. san jose is looking if a new fire chief. the current chief says he is leaving for a job in las vegas. the 55-year-old has been chief in san jose for three years and is the second high level official to step down this year.

will approve a new budget for california ahead of the constitutional deadline. they will vote on the $96.3 billion spending plan for the next fiscal year including a republiccal to reduce tuition by up to 40 percent for 100,000 students in the u.c. systems for families earning $30,000 to $150,000 a year qualify for the tuition cuts on a sliding scale going down to 10 percent of the low end. the program would start in the fall of 2014. authorities warning members of the indian american community about thieving claiming to be i.r.s. agents calling an east bay couple that did not want to be identified. they were told necessity did not pay the taxes and when the husband said he didn't understand a man who spoke his language got on the phone and demanded he rush out to buy reloadable debit cards. the victim bought 30 and gave the man on the phone access to
