this morning, the miami heat are nba champions again. >> the 2013 nba championship resides once again in miami. >> lebron james, was king of the court last night, leading his team to a second-straight title. and celebrating into the wee hours. market jitters. investors wonder what's ahead following the worst day of the year for stocks. all that selling an overreaction? or are they a sign of things to come? new developments in the case of new england patriots tight end aaron hernandez. a murder investigation that will send the police back to his house today. now that summer has officially started, we're jumping right into it. a cool river with the help of a little trampoline.

good friday morning. i'm john muller. >> and i'm tai hernandez in for diana perez. it was a nail-biter to the end. but this morning, america has a new nba champion. >> the heat beating the san antonio spurs last night. 95-88, in the game seven of the nba finals. lebron james, 37 points, 12 rebounds, helping the heat win their second-straight nba championship. and lebron earned his second-straight mvp trophy. >> for me, i can't worry about what everybody say about me. i'm lebron james from akron, ohio. from the inner city. i'm not supposed to be here. that's enough. every night i walk into the locker room, i see a number 6 with james on the back, i'm blessed. what everybody say about me off the court, it don't matter. i have no worries. >> they're celebrating in miami this morning.

we'll have more on the big win later this half hour, from espn. now, to the sliding stock prices. for millions of americans with money tied in stocks, it hasn't been pretty since fed chairman ben bernanke spoke out this last wednesday. and it looks like the selling might not be over yet. devin dwyer has been monitoring the markets. >> reporter: it's hard not to look at your investment portfolio and cringe. but experts say get used to the ups and downs. it's going to be a volatile summer on wall street. it's been a turbulent week for american 401(k)s. and it's not over yet. overnight, markets in europe and asia were down, one day after wall street saw its worst day all year. >> it's like a perfect storm out there this week. >> reporter: investors say the storm is in part because of some good news about the economy. last month, employers added 175,000 new jobs, with unemployment expected to fall below 7% next year.

existing home sales are also picking up, posting their best month in 3 1/2 years. but recovery from recession, means the federal reserve could pull back on its stimulus program, which has pumped billions into the system to help drive growth. >> our economy is getting better. and now, it's time to see how we can do it on our own. >> reporter: the potential shift by the fed has shaken some investors, who fear the economy is not as strong as it seems. some worry that record-low interest rates could disappear. already mortgage rates have climbed above 4% for the first time in a year. market watchers say the volatile week is a sign of coming to terms with the new reality. >> once we get through that period, i think we're going to realize that we're going to be okay and things are going to get back to normal. >> reporter: financial advisers say the best advice for average investors is not to panic, to stick it out. they know overall the dow is still up more than 10% this year. >> abc's devin dwyer in washington. thank you. president obama plans to

announce his pick for outgoing fbi corrector robert mueller. he's recommending james comey. he is best known for refusing to give in when the bush administration wanted him to reauthorize the controversial wiretapping program. another twist this morning. the massive intelligence leak at the nsa, the background check on edward snowden is under investigation. the inspector general's been looking into the company usis, what's being called systemic failures to adequately conduct investigations. new immigration reform deal is expected to be announced today on capitol hill. it will call for doubling the size of the u.s. border patrol to 38,000 officers and completing the 700-mile fence along the border with mexico. abc's tahman bradley has the details. tahman? >> reporter: john and tai, good morning. republicans and democrats say this is hard work. but there's a lot of optimism on capitol hill they'll be able to

get it done. a lot of debate about the security amendment. the amendment would add an additional $3.2 billion for border security. it was introduced by republican senators colvin of north dakota and corker of tennessee. >> if this amendment passes, which i hope it will, i don't know how anybody could argue that the reason they're not supporting this legislation is because we haven't addressed securing the board. >> reporter: the added money would be spent on a surge in border patrol staffing. 20,000 new officers. supporters say there would be an agent every 1,000 feet along the border. it also calls for 700 miles of new fencing. and installing more radar and mobile surveillance, more drones and helicopters. senator john mccain in a fiery speech on the senate floor, urged his colleagues to support the measure. >> 11 million people live in the shadows. and they live back here and date back to amnesty. and they are being exploited every, single day. >> reporter: the new proposal

could be part of a compromise bill, that puts immigrants living in the u.s. illegally on a path to citizenship. but green cards would not be handed out until the work the is complete. >> we're on the serge of a huge breakthrough on border security. >> reporter: harry reid hopes to finish immigration reform before the fourth of july. the senators that introduced the amendment, did so to garner more overall support for the immigration bill. but yesterday, several gop lawmakers said they're still skeptical. >> thank you for that. the taliban is offering to free army sergeant bowe bergdahl in exchange for five taliban operatives held at guantanamo bay. bergdahl has been missing for four years. officials won't say if they will go along with the swap. torrential rain around calgary, canada. washing out roads and bridges and carrying away cars and furniture. many had to be rescued from the

welcome back. a bit more on the stock slide we mentioned earlier. one ray of hope amid the carnage overnight, was tokyo's nikkei average which has taken a beating. but on friday, it added nearly 2%. the u.s. stock market, all things considered, it could be a lot worse. remember the s&p 500 is up 35% since hitting a session low in march 2009. an illegal immigration scandal forcing 7-eleven team to check out stores nationwide. they've indicted owners of ten 7-eleven scores in virginia. they will be forced to work up to 100 hours a week for a fraction of their wages.

a boeing 787 was diverted because of low engine oil indicator lights. denver to tokyo flight had to land in seattle because of a similar oil light tuesday. earlier this morning, australia announced six lucky winners of its best job in the world competition. among them, an american will get to serve as chief funster. some of the other dream jobs, are wildlife caretaker, taste moster. they pay $1,000 for six months. >> that's my job. finally, a solution to those who don't do too well in parking lots. >> it comes from volvo. a car that parks itself. the vehicle uses sensors and transmitters to locate a vacant spot. and it will park itself, all while avoiding pedestrians and other vehicles. it could be in production sooner than you think. >> that's scary, isn't it? kind of cool. unless it decides not to work.

showers on i-10, along the gulf coast. >> if you're flying, airport delays possible in minneapolis. new developments this morning in the case surrounding new england patriots tight end aaron hernandez. police plan to go back to his boston area home today, with another warrant. they have evidence that he destroyed his home security system. and according to an investigator close to the case. >> sources also say when hernandez turned off his cell phone, it was in pieces, as if trying to damage the components inside. police want to know why a house cleaner was hired on monday to scrub hernandez's mansion. we'll have full report on new details on "good morning america." a shocking story out of washington state involving a hazing incident. and we warn you, the pictures are traffic. james, along with six other juniors, was hazed trying to get into a group called the naked vikings. his father says james was blindfolded, burned with cigarettes and cigars, beaten with a golf club and a pipe and

more. the naked vikings have been banned from the school. the jury in the george zimmerman jury trial has been seated. but the jury is all female. >> and five of the six women are white. how might this help either side? here's abc's matt gutman from miami. >> stand up and raise your right hands to be sworn. >> reporter: sworn in to decide george zimmerman's fate. experts say a jury box filled with only women is highly unusual. >> women can generally be more emotional, more sympathetic. and that generally, in this case, would favor the prosecution. >> reporter: but who is the victim in this case? zimmerman says he shot trayvon martin in self-defense. experts tell us that women are more detail-oriented and tend to ask more questions. why? where? who did it? of the six women in the jury, five are white. but there is diversity in their opinion. >> my husband has a 9 millimeter. >> a glock or something like that? you tell me what you have.

>> a .38. >> okay. >> and a couple of rifles. i don't know what they are. >> reporter: there are three women who have guns or have family members who do. one is a victim of domestic violence. and the one minority in the case seems to support the right to self-defense. >> i think everybody is entitled to do that in order to protect your life. >> reporter: 16 months after trayvon martin was shot, that trial is slated to begin on monday morning. the six juror, all women, they are told they could be sequestered up to four weeks. matt gutman, abc news, miami. an autopsy being conducted in rome to determine the exact cause of death wednesday night of james gandolfini. we're learning that doctors worked for 40 minutes to save the actor's life. he had spent the day sightseeing with his sister and 13-year-old son when he was struck by an apparent heart attack in his hotel room. james gandolfini was 51 years old. a visit from soccer superstar david beckham caused such a fan frenzy, it triggered

brought here to san francisco general, eric, with back pain. those who witnessed the crash couldn't believe he was the only person who was hurt. a muni spokesman says the driver of a car made an illegal u-turn right in front of the 43 masonic bus. witnesses say the bus kept going and that's kind of the mystery in all of this. police say a passenger on the bus actually to run to the front, help the driver stop the bus. it's just not clear why the passenger had to help. >> halfway through the grarks i was thinking, oh, my god, it's not going to stop. we quickly ran away. it was a narrow miss at that point. >> i felt bad for some of the billion cyclist also their bikes pinned between the cars and the bus on there they got them back and didn't seem that much worse for wear. room were the only injury was a bus driver, the driver of the car refused medical treatment this happened before 6:30 on masonic
