celebrate. >> one of the decisions by the supreme court upholds the rueing by former federal district judge which struck down prop 8 as unconstitutional. we were the first to speak with judge walker after the high court addition. judge walker told abc7 news reporter it is good do have the supreme court affirm his 2010 ruling. in the course of the trial the judge's personal life was scrutinized when it was revealed high has been involved in a long-term same sex relationship. >> in all the personal things that is come up about you, what do you think of that? >> i didn't bring up the personal matters and it is not unusual for judges to be in a situation where some aspect of their personal life is thought to play a rule in the judicial decisions.

the aclu is making the announcement in a full page ad in the "wall street journal" reading "america out for freedom." it calls on republicans, telling them they are the key to securing the freedom to marry for gays and less bones. the aclu will spend $10 million next three years to challenge laws banning same-sex marriage in illinois, oregon, hawaii, new mexico and other states. >> the man would leds the effort to, expand same-sex marriage nation-wide is no stranger to california. he ran governor arnold schwarzenegger's 2006 campaign and served as an advisor to president bush during his 2004. campaign and a senior advisor to john mccain during his 2008 presidential run. he has issued a statement saying in part and i quote, "the republican party stands for limited government intrusion in our personal lives and for freedom. the issue of marriage equality

again, a lot of sunshine out there and temperatures today compared to average from two degrees warmer in redwood city and three in san jose and napa six, livermore and oakland and san francisco 92 and 81, eight degrees warmer-than-average on this above average day. temperatures are mostly in the mid-80's in the south bay but 82 in milpitas and low-to-mid 90's at los gatos and morgan hill. the warmth will nuclear up the peninsula with millbrae at 76 and 70 at half moon bay and mid-to-upper 60's for the rest of the peninsula coast and in the mid-70's around downtown and south san francisco and sausalito and mid-to-upper 80's through the north bay valley and sunshine at the beaches and mid-to-upper 60's but a light breeze. 78 in berkeley and low-to-mid 80's elsewhere and inland, the humidity was stuffy and now we have slight humidity in the east bay valley and you may need the air conditioning to get the humidity out of the air. tonight, the clouds are along the coast and patchy fog in the

the support is great. >> the president visited mandela yesterday and then canceled a visit to mozambique but says the former president was "much better year," than when he visited him on the previous night. the president's office says it is disturbed by what it called rumors about mandela's health. >> happening today, governor brown is set to sign the new california budget at a ceremony at the state capital this morning, the legislature approved the new $96.3 billion spending plan on time two weeks ago. education will get a big boost from the budget and this is enough money to put $1 billion away in a rainy day fund. several things made this possible including a growing state economy and the proposition 30 tax increase that was initiated by the governor.
