officials are holding a news conference this morning. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is at the walnut creek station. amy? >> we hope to learn more at the news conference why the unions decided to issue this warning 72 hours is the notice given to strike on monday morning. bart workers have been visible talking to passengers trying to let them know this could happen. this announcement makes it seem more likely. this was a day of negotiations where union members called unproductive. bart has made a new offer, a 1 percent raise each year for the next four years but the unions want a 5 percent raise each year. >> obviously it is a big difference and not received very well. >> it is time the serious stop playing games.

abc7news.com on "see it on t." >> in oakland there will be more officers in police after another spike in violent crime. the police chief held an urgent meeting last night to discuss strategy with his command team that follows another murder in the city early yesterday morning that happened on a street near international boulevard. police say the victim was a man riding his bicycle. we were over the scene as police looked for evidence but made no arrests. >> federal judge is accusing oakland officials of not cooperating with a point man appointed by the court to clean up the troubled police department. the oakland tribune reports that judge henderson accused the leaders of the city of excluding former boston police commissioner from meetings and delaying his hiring of a personnel expert. the judge wanted if the city again obstructs his work he will appoint a lawyer to represent frazier and charge the fees to

the city. >> surprising find in san jose as a caregiver is clearing out the home of a man who died. the bomb squad was called in to blow up three world war ii manner grenades. they were found in a box in the garage at a home in santa clara. crews sandbagged the grenades and detonated them safely. berkeley police want your help to find a prowler accused of sexual assault in berkeley, a 33-year-old john anthony martin broke into a woman's bedroom while sleeping and fondled her. police say he got in the build ing on sunday morning and wandered through several rooms before reaching the victim. she yell asked he ran away. he is 6' 6" and 280 pounds with brown hair.
