the negotiating table for hours. >> we will be on strike effective tomorrow evening. >> the line in the sand has been drawn. >> we will not wait until the fifth hour when the district has made no movement. >> they came to mediation with suitcases in hand. they were ready to spend all weekend here if necessary to hash out differences with bart management over wage increases, health and safety regulations and pension contributions but by 4:00 accused bart of delaying tactics and refusing to come to the table. after members walked away bart came up with it's a proposal. >> we have increased our offer from 4% to 8% pay increase, 2% per year over the four-year contract. >> they wanted a 35% wage increase for three years, bart started negotiations by offering 1% per year.

in tonight's headlines, firefighters in vallejo are at the scene of a house fire. flames broke out shortly after 10:30. they brought it under control about 20 minutes ago. a mediator has ordered management and labor back to the bargaining table in hopes of averting strikes by bart employees. without an agreement they will go on strike tomorrow night. >> they have filed an emergency motion asking the supreme court to overturn the decision to start same-sex marriages again in california. same-sex weddings will continue tomorrow in san francisco. >> and if you thought it was hot today, wait until tomorrow and monday. scorching heat will only go higher. forecast will be coming up in about ten minutes. >> as this heat wave takes across the west, outdoor workers are faced with high temperatures. but as nannette miranda
