ken i know you've had an adventure out there today. >> i am at battery and washington street here in san francisco. earlier things were moving much, much slower than here which isn't saying much. it took me two hours to get to the bay bridge. about one car per light getting out of san francisco. >> several instances of this happening this morning at the bay bridge. drivers backing up realizing they were driving solo in a carpool lane. it's a $381 violation if you're caught. and chp is watching. we could not recommend this.

and we are are now to update you. >> that is a music to the ears of commuters trying to make their drive into marin county thinking of taking the bridge to the east bay. let's take a look at maps right now, bumper to bumper traffic nine miles per hour is a top speed. once heading over to the bridge at 33 miles per hour is a one and a half hour drive to make it out of san francisco and into richmond. now by contrast bay bridge we're a 29 miles per hour up to 51 miles per hour to get closer to the east bay about a 30, 35 minute commute coming out of san francisco and into the east bay. now, don't forget we do have a game tonight and looking at delays out here. it's about a 30 minute commute
