the strike continues. they plan to go back to the table. this is just a recess. that is scheduled for 1:00 o'clock this afternoon. we have a little light of good news. there is a tentative deal with bart in a smaller union involving 200 workers, office workers and middle managers who have not released details. >> maybe it is a sign of things to come. we will keep our fingers crossed. >> commuters are looking for the hope and better traffic. leyla gulen? >> we hope breaking bread made some progress. we have clear conditions. the bay area right now shows lots of green. it is early. we are not seeing any congestion. we have one construction project, one hold out, that will last until 5:00 a.m., northbound 101 with road construction. that is the only real construction we have at this

hour because caltran is trying to make it easy on the commuters. the richmond-san rafael bridge is at top speeds. the bay bridge is locking clear. the toll plaza shows traffic is moving smootly. we had early work wrapped up at 4:00 a.m. that was moments ago. >> expanded a.c. transit service is another service today. get there early and be prepared to wait. matt? >> we learned that lesson, if you want to be first in line to get to san francisco have a seat on the bench. today should be interesting. on monday from 7:00 to 9:00 people waited 45 minutes to get on a bus to san francisco.

yesterday, though, the lines were longer taking an hour and a half to to hours to get moving from oakland to san francisco. with the fourth of july tomorrow, getting here early is the fattest way to get to san francisco in the morning from the east bay. we will monitor the situation all morning. the first bus to arrive in oakland to san francisco is scheduled for 5:33. >> bart will provide three limited bus shuttles to and from san francisco again today as the strike continues. you can catch the commute hours from five east bay stations. look the at were ma. west oakland, el cerrito, walnut creek, dublin/pleasanton and treatment. service begins at 5:00 and on a first-come-first-serve basis. riders are encouraged to arrive

twitter@abcnewsbayarea. the details are being sorted out over the deadly shootings of two restaurant employees at the wingstop before midnight on monday. law enfollow sources say two men wearing orange construction vests ordered food but ran to a freezer in the back of the restaurant because they felt threatened by a third party. two employees went to the freezer to see why they went back there and were shot by at least one of those men. police have one suspect in custody. they are working to get the other man to turn himself in. officers had increased patrols after a spike in crime in the area. police are meeting with merchants and neighbors to talk about the shooting and recent crimes. the meeting is held at lake shore avenue baptist church near the corner of lake shore avenue and mandela avenue at 8:30. >> last summer's fire at the

chevron refinery is costing the city and the west contra costa school district millions in property tax revenue. the "contra costa times" reported the fire trigger add drop if property values in the city and school district. projected tax revenues for the new fiscal year will be down more than 14.5 percent which is $6 million in lost revenue to the city of richmond and was driven by a change in the refinery value which is about $2.75 billion, $1 billion less than the previous year. >> this morning, pg&e crews are working to restore power to 100 customers in the south bay. 9,500 customers last power dug the hottest part of the day yesterday. crews have been working nonstop to fix the problem which they blamed on too many people cranking up their air conditioning at the same time. no estimate on when the remaining customers will is their power back.

mike nicco? >> leyla gulen, thank you. good morning, everyone. live doppler 7 hd shows the last three hours, you will notice the air is rather quiet with no light sprinkles to talk about. the big story is the refreshing coolness of the air. the clouds are blanketing the bay and the marine layer has doubled its depth so the temperatures are the same atto seven degrees cooler in livermore and five degrees cooler in san jose at 62. livermore is 65. antioch is 64. 70 in san francisco is not correct, it is right now 58 degrees. the day lander the next 12 hours, 50's and 60's with more cloud cover and back to the coast by noon and by 4:00 we are at 98 inland and east bay is where we will see the 100's and 70's and 80's for most

headed toward the bay bridge toll plaza, westbound 24 to 580 and 85 and through oakland area. that will be difficult today. you can see dick is driving around at moment and still light. >> it shows the value of an early start. the toll plaza on the left is a key indication of how the commute will go. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard is at the toll plaza. it was bad on monday and worse yesterday? >> you have that right. we are waiting to see if day throw is as challenging traffic-wise as the last two. it has been a real mess. if you were caught in the backup, you know what i'm talking about, up to two-hour delays from eastern contra costa county. right now the good news is things are looking good at toll plaza, cars are sailing through right now, 12 lanes are open, no waiting. we are seeing more cars than

7,400 taking it yesterday, down 400 people. tomorrow is a holiday so here is what to expect. >> thursday, fourth of july, we will run a special holiday schedule between vallejo and san francisco and alameda, oakland and san francisco. on the weekend, we will have our weekend service. >> if you are catching a ferry this morning at the main street terminal in alameda, remember service to south san francisco is regular. service to san francisco's ferry building is direct and boats will not stop in oakland. there is extra parking so that is good news and the parking lot is wide open. ferries are leaving every 45 minutes. >> this morning, the city of vallejo is working to refund 200 ferry riders who accidentally paid for free parking. our media partner, vallejo times

herald reports there was a lost confusion on monday. newly installed payment kiosks are not supposed to be used until august 1. the city will issue refunds to 200 who paid $5 each for parking. >> if the strike continues tonight, a's fans are encouraged to carpool to the game against the cubs. they beat the cubs last night by 8-7 to move back in first place in front of 17,000 fans, a much bigger crowd is expected tonight which include as fireworks show after the game. officials estimate that between 15 percent and 18 percent of fans take bart. they are opening all parking lots and the off site lots. >> the giants can not wait to get home after failing to get a hit in cincinnati. reds pitcher homer grounded out the third to end the game and bailey was perfect but for a

in walnut creek. everything is moving along at top speed. no crashes to report, a very quiet day on the roads. mike nicco, how is the weather? it will be another hot one? >> in the east bay it will be hot and other areas not so hot as we taper this air mass a little bit. here is radar and the satellite. you can see the clouds along the coast filling in the bay and i don't thing they will quite make it to the east bay valley so you, again, will be in the hundreds and no one else has to worry. 1.5 miles is what we have for visibility at half moon bay and everything else is okay because of the main layer clouds we do not see much clouds form. it is at the top of the bay bridge and moving all the way up to 1,700' a sign of cooling on the way. the heat will hold in the east and the rest of us have afternoon sunshine and temperatures are cooler, and the

it will still be hot in the east, with a 40 degree spread between there and the coast. back to formal this weekend. in the south bay, it is still warm, near 100 in morgan hill and los gatos, and a lot of low to my 90's from sunnyvale and santa clara at none to san jose at 92. up the peninsula, mid-to-upper 80's from san mateo to mountain view and millbrae at 80. at the coast we will not see so much sunshine and mid-to-upper 60's for you, and we will have mid-70's around downtown, south san francisco, headed over to sausalito, 78, and in the north bay, petaluma is the cool spot at 86, and low-to-mid 90's in novato, santa rosa, sonoma and napa but only mid-to-upper 60's at your beach. at the east bay shore, more comfortable today with mid-to-upper 70's around richmond and berkeley and oakland and low-to-mid 80's for everyone else. in the east bay valley you can see concord and walnut creek at 99 and 98 and everyone else will

be around 100 or 1303 and -- 103 and brentwood. the game is a fireworks game with a drop to 66 with the fireworks after the game. in the 50's in santa rosa and san francisco and half moon bay and san mateo and everyone else in the 60's tonight. barely holding on to 100 in the east bay interior neighborhoods on thursday. but 64 at the coast and temperatures in the 80's for a high on saturday and sunday and 70's around the bay and only 60 at the coast. have a great day. >> a group of illegal fire works is off the streets after a san francisco police officer, a story you will see only on abc7 news. here are the fireworks, an officer spotted the so-called runner in chinatown, runners are young people who illegally sell fireworks. when the officer approached the

going on. dick, are you on the bridge yet? you are headed for the bridge? >> good morning, i am on the bridge i am westbound on the bridge on the causeway going up to this section. if you are a commuter that has been able to hit the road early you have a good drive i came in on highway 24 from the tunnel and i checked out all the feeder ramps going to the bay bridge toll plaza and everything is looking good so far. i am sure it will change quickly as the morning unfolds. >> the drive is looking good, the only issue is you encountered fog? >> that is correct. there has been some fog, not quite down on the deck but from the tunnel there are good pockets of fog in the hills. something else i notice if you have to pay cash going through the toll lanes try to have exact

>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> good morning, on wednesday at 4:30 on day three of the bart strike. >> bart labor negotiations will resume after eight hours of talks last night. riders may have reason for optimism after two trust traiting days of trying to get around the bay area. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield has our coverage from oakland. >> they talked for hours which has to be a good sign. better than not talking at all but no end to the contract dispute. plan today as if the strike will continue throughout the day. as far as we know right now trains will not be running. the strike continues. the two sides did work all night long.
