straight to 7 news who is at the cal-trans building with more. sergio? >> in the last 5 minutes or so both sides in this continuing negotiations came out of the cal-trans building here in oakland and they made the big announcement that bart workers will return to work tomorrow and the hope is the trains will actually start working by tomorrow a tomorrow afternoon. the california secretary of labor, the general manager of bart, and spokes people for the 2 labor negotiations came to the mike and tried to explain basically how this was going to work. >> i'm delighted to report the parties agreed to accept the recommendation of the mediator and myself to return to work and continue collective pwring ang process under the guidance of mead 88 tor for the next 30 days in order to reach an agreement. i'm advised the trains will begin running as

soon as feasible and consist ep with the safety of the workers and riding public. >> now our understanding of the way this is going to work is that the workers are going to continue. they are going to good back to work tomorrow. will get the trains running but the negotiations are going to continue while they are at wor work. this is basically a contract negotiations. 30 day extension of the current contract. now one of the reasons why this is going to continue like this is because both side realize they have some complicated issues to work through and under the insistence of the governor they decided to go ahead and extendts this contract to continue the negotiations. of course this just happened and so we are still trying to translate whole lot of what's going to be happening but in short as the secretary of labor mentioned in that sound bite, trains hopefully will start running by tomorrow afternoon, live in oakland, abc 7 news. sergio thank you so much.

over the 4 days this is happening people haven't been able to take bart and traffic has been pretty much crazy throughout the bay year. and tonight thousands of people were on san francisco embarcadero making their way home from san francisco fireworks that happened short time ago. we look at the embarcadero writ nowill traffic as you can see on the right hand people going back trying to get out of the city. we have team coverage and allen is live at aquatic park with the situation there. allen? >> the strike definitely thinned out the number of east bay people who ventured out here tonight but those who did take a chance to get here say they flew across the bay bridge in record time. there have were two things that were noticeably missing from tonight's fourth of july fireworks. the fog and the crowd from the east basement only met a fight i live in hayward. and we came over
