livermore. back out to greenbrae we have this accident northbound 101, a car went off the freeway, through a chain link fence and hit a parked car. that is not causing slowing on the friend because it is not on the freeway. the southbound drive is looking clear coming away from 580 and at the san mateo bridge, this is where we have a high wind advisory so anyone who is driving anything high profile, be careful. >> 6:02. after four days of picketing, bart employees are back at work. abc7 news amy hollyfield tells us, bart and union have to hammer out a deal. amy? >> look what i have to show you: nothing. nothing never looked so good. the strike is over for now. that is a win for the commuters. the trains will start running again at 3:00 this afternoon. this is not over.

this is just an extension. they have extended their contract for 30 days and will negotiate during the next month. the old contract will be in affect, talks resume onmotional. the union representatives say they are determined to keep fighting for the bart workers. >> we have a lot of work left to do. we stand together tonight. we expect to be standing together with a fair contract by the end of august 4. we hope you will insist all the parties do the right thing. >> to top state mediators and representatives from both sides left caltran building in downtown oakland with suitcases at 11:00 saying it was a long week. both sides, including bart's general manager, say the two sides are far apart on salary, pensions, and health care but the mediators have recommended had extension and both sides

agreed to it and they will have until august 4 when the extension will expire. >> we continue our coverage with abc7 news reporter cornell in walnut creek where the bus shuttles are running. cornell? >> good morning, lots of opinions out here but mostly commuters have been happy to hear the bart trains are rolling this afternoon. until then, folks are grabbing the shuttle buses into san francisco like they have been doing all week. many tell me they hope a contract extension agreement doesn't mean the bart workers will be on strike again in 30 days. commuters say it has been stressful getting up early and just trying to get to work. >> hectic. i am here at 5:00 in the morning barely get up 6:00 on a normal

the flames broke out at 9:00 p.m. and firefighters had the fire knocked down in 15 minutes and no word on whether fireworks are involved in this fire. >> new video from southern california showing the aftermath of a fireworks accident that injured more than two dozen people with the large medical response. this happened last night in simi valley as the terrifying accident was caught on camera. >> the mood turned from joy to chaos in a split second for the fourth of july celebration. whoa! whoa! whoa! my god! >> a number of fire wores are shelled exploded feet from the ground. the blast sent the terrified people running for safety as many doubled the flying debris.

>> a block came shooting down and hit the side of my leg the. >> we had fireworks coming at us, a round block hit the person sitting next to me. >> crews rushed to the scene and treated 30, with some suffering moderate to minor injuries. 10,000 people were at the show and the malfunction happened two minutes into the show. investigators are on the scene working to fine the cause. >> fireworks are to blame for a huge fire near seattle in lake union washington with flames over stacks of the racks of poets stacked four stories high, estimated to be at more than $1 million. a firefighter was hurt but he is expected to be okay. >> fire work is so dangerous when it is dry. but the temperatures are cooling off. >> that is the big story. check out the winds that are

the clouds are coming in on the marine layer and back to the graphic, oakland is six decks cooler and eight in san francisco and 12- to 15-in concord. no 100's or 90's, but 50's and 60's around the bay and 70's around the bay and 80's inland. >> the way through the weekend. leyla gulen has the commute. >> we are looking at clear conditions and if this is any indication the metering lights are still off on the bay bridge so we do not have too many commuters on the way to work today. we have a brushfire reported eastbound 580 at grant line road and the traffic from early in the westbound direction is cleared up so we are actually looking at things spinning out. the drive time traffic from tracy to castro valley at 34 minutes and along four headed between antioch and concord that is 19 minutes and 101 northbound from san mateo to san francisco is 20 minutes and at look at

the question is, will the stand off turn to civil war? the military is armed with tanks and machine guns and security agencies are rounding00 dreads of feds to former president morsi for arrest and the new leader a top constitutional judge promises national reconciliation and tolerance. >> we will gather the republican system and to respect the law and constitution and look after the interests of people. >> peace and stability does not come easy with clashes leashing 50 people dead since sunday alone. president obama and the national security team have been monitoring the crisis from the situation room and yesterday top officials called the egyptian counterparts urging them to avoid violence.

along the coast that have been filling in all morning as the sea breeze continues. it will be quick over the bay today, san francisco, san pablo and the bell that community with the boat parade for the america's cup and it will be choppy and windy from now until 8:00 this evening. at the coast the winds are from the northwest at 15 to 25 and it will last through 2:00 tomorrow morning. the clouds are spilling across the bay and the clouds that are causing an hour and 43 flight arrival delays at sfo, and it is over. it is over. the highs drop today. big time. breezy and cloudy at the weekend. you miss the sunshine and warmer weather much it is over. temperatures hold back but are close to average.

before. >> we have! >> live doppler 7 hd shows it is quiet this morning with the transition to cooler weather on the way but it is not a noisy one but a quiet one as far as wet weather going on. clouds arrive late to the bay. the next 12 hours in the mid-to-upper 50's and sunny by noon and mild temperatures at 4:00, at 74, and maybe you need a jacket in the evening as we fall in the mid-to-upper 60's with clouds coming back in the evening hours. it will be cooler this morning when you step outside. it will be 60 inland, and remain what, normally 78 is warm but compared to the mid-90's at noon, it will feel nice. now excessive heat and 84 degrees at 4:00. a comfortable 76 in the evening. at the coast, it will be mostly cloudy with temperatures around 60 and a brisk breeze for today.

in the few minutes we will see how long the cooler weather will hang around but, first, traffic with leyla gulen. a steady stream of incidents across the bay area but all in all we have light conditions santa rosa northbound 101 at highway 12 we have a the recover an accident and possibly blocking a lane and could be pushed into the center divide with debris in the lanes along northbound 101 before you get to the 280 extension. that is blocking one to two lanes and could slow the commute down with volume northbound 101 beyond 280. along highway 4 westbound road we have a report of a crash that has been pushed over to the center divider and outside we go in san jose that is 87 right beyond the julian off-ramp you can see clear conditions out there and nice and quiet on this holiday friday. the bart strike is over,

employees put down the picket lines and training are rolling at 3:00 this afternoon. now our news reporter with amy from oakland with uncertainty over the transit agency. >> the strike is over. for now. not for good. there is nothing to see at the bart station and nothing to see is good news. the picketers are gone. the strike is over. trains will start running today. at 3:00 this afternoon, bart trains will start to run again with both sides agreeing do a contract extension. the old contract is in effect and talks resume on monday. they continue to negotiate and they need a new contract. we believe we can get a contract in 30 days and we are putting bart on notice they have 30 days

to right the ship and ensure our members get the service they need and the bart public gets the bart service they deserve. >> teams left at 11:00 last night and it has been a long week. the mediators recommended this extension. both sides are very far apart on issues such as salary and pension, they have until august 4 to get this worked out and does not say what will happen if they cannot agree. would there be another strike? they did not say were only focused on their resolve to get the contract figured out. >> union negotiators complain of a perceived lack of involvement from bart general manager who was at the bargaining session last night and spoke after and thanked state mediators for hammering out the resolution. early in the day the union leaders held a rally to demand she participate in the

negotiations with the signs in the background reading "where's grace." commuter would need to travel into san francisco have to use alternate options until 3:00 blm and our reporter continues our coverage from walnut creek with the bus shuttle bart is offering. cornell? >> that is right, we are talking to commuters who are happy to hear that bart trains will roll out of this walnut creek station and all stations, next, later today. until that, phones are grabbing shuttle buses into san francisco this morning like they have been doing all week, same drill. many say the strike has left them stressed out, worried about getting to work, and many hope the contract extension agreement does not mean bart workers are on strike again in 30 days. hopefully they will have a permanent resolution for the contracts because in 30 days, if

whoa! >> this happened last night outside los angeles. a number of fireworks shells exploded near or on the ground and sent shrapnel flying and people scattering in all directions at a park. 20 people went to the hospital with minor-to-moderate injuries. another eight were treated at the scene with emergency crews set up a triage area. >> you could be surprised when you hear what type of cars are good for teenagers to drive. >> investors react to the june jobs report just released. now we go to the new york stock exchange. >> good morning, i am actually at bloomberg headquarters this morning. we had a big jobs report coming out today and the economy creating 195,000 jobs during the month of junes more than

expected. the unemployment rate held near four year low at 7.6 percent according to the labor department. we also had the unemployment picture improve more than what we thought back in april and may. a last people are coming out of the wood work looking for jobs. stocks are positive. the dow and s&p and nasdaq trading up at 8230 points higher. the silicon valley index is, also, up. tesla could get more mileage than it thought from a petition to allow it to sell electric cars directly to consumers in all 50 states. a white house petition started by a consumer in massachusetts has crossed 100,000 signature mark that is required to get white house attention. we will see if the white house puts out a response to this. forget the sexy sports car teens could be better off driving the same boring buick that grandmother drivers. if any are ready for the open

road the best car is big, slow and ugly. a representative from the insurance institute for highway safety says that big cars offer more protection. ugly cars are less tempting to speed. grandmother's car may not have the important modern safety features. get a car made in the past five years and make sure it has all the protection but convince your teen to drive it. >> why didn't you tell me this five years ago? i am making notes my son turns six on friday. i have ten more years. >> mike can take notes, as well. >> absolutely, we will see what they drive, minivan or not. he has been riding in it for years. look at radar and satellite

>> firefighters put out a large grass fire in oakland hills. this is video of the fireworks working to extinguish the blaze that break out on castle drive last night. crews had a hard time accessing the fire and they get there they found a herd of goats. file works are a possible but it is too early to tell what started the fire. it bumped 2.5 to three acres. crews are checking for hotspots. >> we will re-cap the top story at the end of

the bad news is they did not agree on a contract. though are still going to be talking at the table for the next 30 days and decided to extend their old contract. the bart trains will run at 3:00 this afternoon and you can ride bart again. they are still far apart but while they negotiate the trains will be running. this extension will last through august 4 and they are committed to reach an agreement by then. our abc7 news reporter cornell bernard is covering the commuters and getting their reaction and joins us from walnut creek. cornell? >> we are talking to commuters here at walnut creek bart. though are happy to hear that bart trains will be rolling again but they hope a contract extension does not mean that bart workers will be on strike again in 30 days. bart has provided shuttle buses from east bay stations citizen in the morning and when they are
