fog. it is busy moving into san francisco. >> it is 6:02. the parents of the two chinese girl whose died in the asiana crash landed where their daughters died, at the same airport. >>the families arrived last night at crown plaza hotel in burlingame. they were taken from the tarmac and brought here. the hotel shielded them from the media and the parents did not speak with reporters. they are expected to meet with the c.e.o. and president of asian who met with chinese relative in seoul on the stop to san francisco. a news agency reported that a father told him he was dissatisfied with the handling of the disaster.

the five minute meeting was arranged to apologize to the families of the victims. he is scheduled to visit the injured at hospitals here in the bay area and he is going to meet with asiana officials and the crown plaza hotel is considered a federal zone because the victim families are staying here. >> the hometown of the teen girls, classmates mourn the loss of their friends at a memorial, yesterday, lighting candles with the date of the crash 7/7 and lanterns with edge months written to their friends and sent them into the sky. >> last hour the ntsb chairwoman was interviewed here discussing the next steps of the express into the crash of asiana flight 214. amy, trillion us about the interview. >> they have more interviews

today. they talked to two of the tour pilots. they want to finish those and interview the cabin crew and airport personnel. we will see investigators, again, out there on the runway today. they hope to finish cataloging the debris on the runway and along the seawall. then they will move on to the plane. i asked the chairwoman how much longer until they can clear the wreckage and re-open the runway. >> we are certainly talking days. hopefully we are not talks weeks, but we need to allow our folks to do their work. the salvage operation is significant. it is a huge structure. we need to remove it this pieces. then we have to secure it in a storm location so we can take another look at it. >> we have all heard them say they thought the plane was coming in too low and too slow and the pilots wanted on abort that landing but that it was too

late. i asked the chairman if they will narrow the focus on the possibility of pilot error and she said "no." this is a picture of what they have to go through. she thinks there could be answers in the wreckage. it does taught have to be what happened in the cockpit but it could be anything out there they want did put together. she says often in disasters it is several tacters that come together to cause a catastrophe so it will still take time to put the puzzle together. they continue and plan to brief us and update us with another briefing later this afternoon. >> a lawyer who specializes in air crashes says each person on the plane is likely to see at least $1 million settlement even the uninjured passenger will see seven-figure checks because of post-traumatic stress disorder.

arrived last night. they are inside the crown plaza hotel in burlingame. because of that, security is tight. this area has been declared a federal zone. hotel employees brought out huge umbrellas to shield the families from the media when they arrived last night. parents did not speak with reporters and were taken by bus from the tarmac at sfo. we hear new accounts about what it was like inside the airline flight when it crashed. 15-year-old described how she got out of the plane. >> everything stopped. i realized i was alib. i, looked over and i saw my brother and sister. they were fine. my mom and my dad were both on the floor because their seats fell down. i called their names out and they both moaned. >> her family was injured but not seriously and they were taken to san francisco john --

general hospital. the two fatal victims were 16-year-old ye mengyuan and wang linjia and the family members will heat with the asiana c.e.o. and president would met with the chinese relatives at seoul airport on the stopover here to san francisco. a south korean news agency reported that one of the victim's families said he was dissatisfied with the handling of the disaster. the families are also expected to visit the coroner's office during the stay here in the bay area. >> thank you, matt. our team coverage with abc7 news amy hollyfield who spoke to ntsb chairwoman this morning with the latest on the investigation. amy? >> she said they will go through the wreckage again this morning. we asked how long the wreckage will stay on the runway and she said it will be days until it is hauled away and they re-open the

runway. hopefully, not more than a week, they says. it is quite a huge salvage process to move the huge pieces and secure them in a storage facility is they can take a second look at them. they are days away from that step. here is what she says they plan to do today. >> our team is on the ground working to clear the runway as fast as possible. we are finishing up with the documentation from the seawall along the runway. total station gives us g.p.s. locations of all of the debris. we hope to finish that today. then it is move on to the aircraft. >> today they also plan to interview the other two of the four crew members they have not talked to yet. they also want to interview the cabin crew and the airport personnel. quite a long list of things to do today. i asked her if they do find that pilot error is to blame, what kind of action would the agency

take? she said nothing. the agency can only make recommendations. she says they are move often than not, taken into consideration and implemented. >> the san francisco fire department has confirmed to abc7 news that all five fire truck drivers who responded to the crash passed blood and alcohol screening after there wassed of fire apparatus that may have struck a victim during the response. southwest girths are looking through airport surveillance video but so far they are only coming up with inconclusive findings. the chief says they are helping anyway they k. >> we are work chosely with the ntsb as they conduct their investigation on all aspects. >> the two girls sitting in the back of the plane, one found near the broken tail and the other was down the runway next to the many section of body.

bumper and behind it we have a stalled car blocking the lane westbound 80 causing some delays. you will see slow and go conditions from highway four at on minutes headed from highway four to the maze and possibly a bit more now. this is the golden gate bridge and it is very foggy and mike has been telling us that all morning but five minutes to get you into san francisco. kristen and eric? >> tomorrow the metropolitan transportation commission will hold a meeting at 10:00 a.m. where they will discuss the delayed opening of the new eastern span of the bay bridge which will not open on labor day weekend as originally planned. contractors say they will need until december to fix the system designed to protect againster quakes. engineers need four days to make the transition from the old bridge to the new bridge with complete coverage of the meeting right here on abc7 news.
