at 888 brannan street. we'll have live team coverage for you tonight. mark matthews has been on the story all afternoon. mark, walk us through what happened. >> well, when the shots were fired and the call went out to the police, three officers responded here and they say they encountered a man covered in blood. he ducks insifd a mexican restaurant firing more mots shoths at the police and apparently runs out of bullets and surrenders. a gold store called victoga we found two deceased females. suffering from wounds that will be determined by the medical examiner. possible etch weapon possible

gunshot wounds. and another male was also suffering from gunshot wounds transported to general hospital. right now he's in stable condition. >> a massive police presence here on brannan street as well as on brand street one block north. police initially believed there was a second suspect and this was a robbery. they now say just one person involved they know that because of surveillance video taken from a nearby store. they do not know if robbery was a motive they're working on the relationship between shooter and two deceased women and oneman who was also shot inside of the store who is taken to san francisco general along with the suspect. >> thank you, mark here is a look at layout for the lower level of the san francisco gift center. victoga highlighted on the map across the hall from a shopping center biggest stores

then, they heard a lot of commotion after that. someone ran by, and then, they heard five more gunshots then the suspect ran out and then, into the streets. of course as mark math use described, the police engaged him there and he was later taken into custody. i did talk with a few merchants inside when this was happening. they described to me the scene inside. >> this is a very secure city. i'm here 27 years, nothing like this happened. they check the badge. people walk in have to have appointments by the store owners nobody can just walk n they do pretty good for a check. they call the store. is this your guest? >> there was chaos everyone was shutting doors and locking doors making sure everyone was staying inside. we didn't know if the person was still around or going to run into our room. so we just kind of tried to

>> the young girl passed away this morning here. from critical injuries suffered in the crash landing of asiana flight 214. very little information is being released at her family's request. she's the third passenger to die in the crash two. 16-year-olds were killed on saturday. doctors say the victim had extensive injuries. >> today we're sad to announce one of the victims of the plane crash expired this morning. she died of injuries. it is a pediatric patient who has been in our care unit. since the time of the crash. her family asked we not release any details about her, her identity, nature of the injuries or treatment that she received. >> woe know the child was a

leanne? >> we've been hearing the situation following the crash was chaotic to say the least. today the initial finding is that that young girl was run over by a yellow rig. the investigation continues. >> you know i was not aware they were going to come out to make that statement today. >> that is the county coroner after hearing police in san francisco revealed 16-year-old victim was run over by an emergency vehicle following saturday's plane crash. police say the ground was covered in white foamy fire retardant. >> the fire truck repositioned itself to continue battling the flames aboard the fuj lauj the victim passenger was discovered in the tire tracks of the truck. so it's confirmed the fire duck did go over the victim one time. >> the coroner told the parents of the 16-year-old their daughter was struck by that vehicle.

what we don't know yet is what she died from. the crash or being run over by the truck. >> we've been working with the family since the day they arrived. and so they know i will be meeting with them to go over the cause of death. >> one way to find out if the 16-year-old was already dead there would be no bleeding from the injuries sustained by the fire truck. >> we determine whether it's prior to death or post mortem. >> that is one way of determining the cause of death. the process involves interviewing witnesses and looking over police reports. and the coroner may have the report ready by next week. >> thank you so much. we're going to take a look at sky 7 hd at what is left of that asiana plane. as we saw in wayne's live shot he said you used to be able to see through the fence but now, they covered it this is the only way to take a look at what is left of the airplane.
