up in the eastbound direction. the drive is pack into san francisco. >> we have agree news from the mission district where a man was hurt in a shooting with a suspect search underway. police believe the gunman is holed up in a building between 22nd and 23rd, with the shooting happening at 4:30. the victim was not seriously hurt said the man would shot him lives in the building. >> we are following breaking news from san jose with firefighters responding to a house fire and found 100 pets need most of them not able to five. why did the homeowners have the animals? >> they are boarding up the front door of the house. it is not so much the structure but the 100 cats she was keeping

here that turned this into a tragic morning. firefighters are bringing out pet carriers with the seven cats that survived. the homeowner said her dog woke her up before 1:45 in south san jose. she smelled smoke, called 9-1-1 and was trapped inside the home. firefighters pulled her to safety but 93 cats were killed. >> it is tragic. they were my kids. i retired to take care of them full-time and i worried when i got in the car that i would have an accident or that i would fall and hurt myself and not be able to take care of them. i worried about outliving them. it consumed my life. >> the homeowner, carol miller, is part of an animal rescue group contracted with sanford university to spay the cats on campus and says it is a no kill organization and takes cares of cats that have nowhere else to go of the animal control said if

they heard of a home with this many cats this we would visit to check on the health of the animals and homeowners. they are investigating the cause much the surviving seven cats will be taken to the vet today to be checked out and she is expecting them to be okay. >> several businesses in oakland are damaged this morning following a third night of violent protests over the verdict in the george zimmerman trial. from oakland on telegraph avenue at 19th, you can can see there are a lot of boarded up ones if the area, and we were overhead as protesters clashed with police last night. police say it got out of the hand when the professors started throwing rocks at officers setting off fire f.b.i. -- fireworks. an employee of a restaurant was hit in the head with a hammer.

with investigators believing the motorcyclist crashed riding open highway one but the bicycle has not been found. teams are accepting the creek. >> a search is underway for two men accused in a violent attack on a pregnant woman about to give birth. the "contra costa times" reports the woman nine months pregnant was attacked at willow avenue in cherryland around 2:00 year. the woman was found sitting in the driver's seat of a car on the railroad track. the systems pushed the car on to the tracks with her pickup and smashed her window with a handgun and grabbed her purse. the woman was taken to the hospital where minor injuries and mom and unborn baby will both be fine. >> oakland police have released a new picture they hope to locate a missing toddler still the subject of an an better alert. the father of 21-month-old daphne viola webb reports her

missing open wednesday. the father said she was taken from the vehicle outside a liquor store in east oakland. this is a photograph of his s.u.v. they hope witnesses can help them put together where the two were before she was recorded missing. this week, officers searched the canyon area in the oakland hills with the trails near the family home. the father often took his daughter for walks in the area. >> from contra costa county, the pittsburg police department is spending $175,000 for a new armored vehicle and our media partner the contra costa times reported the city council approveed the purchase. the first purchase for that department will be used from granted. they new is to borrow one from the park center. >> new police chief will be swap into office coming from sacramento county where he served as commander.

half moon bay at 60 is the warm spot and the sunset is cloudy and vine and downtown san francisco more sunshine and low-to-mid 60's and same in sausalito and petaluma is the last area in the valley up north to see the sunshine and you are at 69. upper 50's at your beach. to the east bay shore the finding fog, you can see what it does to berkeley, san leandro, low-to-mid 70's. upper 70's to low 80's but, again, not needing the air conditioning to stay cool. temperatures tone low-to-mid 50's again with cloud deck overall of our neighborhood and drizzle possible at the coast with mist hanging in the air. as far as the cool area of low pressure it is spinoff the coast keeping us cool again and the highs though, will work its way back toward us and look at the flow clock wise so it is tapping

but moving along well. >> we continue to tall breaking news in san francisco where police stand off is underway after an early morning shooting sent a man to the hospital. police are surrounding a small apartment building between 22nd and 23rd streets and speaking to the suspect in spanish. the victim told the officers the man would shot him lives in the building and happened at 4:30 this morning. the victim is in stable condition and everyone else is out of the building with no word on a possible motive. >> developing news from oakland, where several businesses are cloning up again after another fight of violent protests over the george zimmerman verdict. abc7 news reporter joining us from 19th and telegraph and we can see the damage and destruction behind you. >> this trip of still graph -- this strip of telegraph was hit hard.

the "san francisco chronicle" is reporting a waiter asked the protester fought to break their windows and he was hit in the head with a hammer. this is the second time for the restaurant to be hit and was vandalized on saturday. last night, usually in the evening, the crowd moved to interstate 880 and blocked traffic. five people were arrested. the oakland police department and c.h.p. officers break up the crud and at that point it moved to downtown oakland and people continued to march around the downtown and police say some ones were smashed, graffitis with sprayed on businesses and people threw bottles at police officers and set shawl fires. the protest was to make a state about the verdict against george zimmerman and he was found not guilty in the killing of trayvon martin. this was the third day of protests here in oakland. police arrested nine people last night including a juvenile and say most of those arrested have addresses outside of oakland. police are asking anyone with

video of people committing crimes to please hand it over to the oakland police department. the profits turn violent in los angeles, as well, with 13 people face charges. 150 people broke off from a larger group and started attacking cars and businesses. a news crew was assaulted. authorities say 300 officers were called in. >> george zimmerman's parents tell abc7 news barbara walters in an interview they fear for their son's life in the shooting death of unarmed teen trayvon martin. he is in hiding. >> what are his expectations of being able to live a normal life >> only time will tell.

>> livermore police want to you look at surveillance video to help catch jewelry store bug -- burglars in livermore. they used their vehicle to smash the door and they filled their bags with jewelry. they get away with $100,000 in jewelry. >> the richmond city council will meet to try to determine how money last summer's chevron refinery fire has cost the city. the council will vote on a resolution to get expert data which will be used for public discussion before any settlement is worked out with chevron. it is estimated the fire in august led to a drop if property values in the city and school district. projected tax revenue for the fiscal year is expected down 14 percent or $6 million in lost revenue. >> we follow breaking news from

>> covering santa rosa, berkeley, san jose and all the bay area this is abc7 news. >> we are following breaking news from san jose nearly 100 pets dead after a fire. >> abc7 news reporter is on scene with the reason the animals were in the home. matt? >> this is a tragic scene, the homeowner has been inside the van all morning and you can see the love of her cats is on her license plate, reading "cat nest," inside the home 93 of her cats are dead. here is video of when of the seven surviving cats, the homeowner woke up by her dog and smelled smoke and called 9-1-1 and was trapped. firefighters pulled her to safety. but 93 cats were killed.

the south bay by noon and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70's and los gatos and morgan hill near 80 and portly sunny this afternoon and 70 in santa cruz. low-to-mid 70's on the peninsula with 68 in millbrae and will at half moon bay at 60's and sausalito will be 63, and 9 at petaluma, the last areas in the north bay to see sun and the rest of the neighbors in the low-to-mid 70's and at the coast the upper 60's and berkeley is the last place to see sunshine along the east bay shore like year. upper 60's around richmond and oakland and san leandro and hayward and everyone else, though, in the low-to-mid 70's and the east bay valley, free air conditioning again, upper 70's to low 80's and possibly 83 in brentwood for the warm spot and 77 in san ramon and pleasanton. the cloud cover comes back in again and best chance of drizzle is along the coast and best chance of mist is the bay bridge
