teen-aged victims, good evening. >> the county coroner confirmed the sad news today in front of a group of firefighters and first responder who's saved so many lives. 16-year-old was still alive when she was struck by a fire vehicle at the scene. abc 7 news reporter joins us near the airport now, heather? >> the coroner has confirmed the cause of death but will have to wait for the san francisco police department's major accident investigation, ntsb report to name i few to hopefully have more detail and a better understanding of how this could have happened. the coroner says the 16-year-old died from blunt injuries consistent with being run over by a motor vehicle. >> those injuries she was alive at the time.

>> saying she was sitting with another girl and a third girl died in the hospital on friday. the body found near the left wing about an hour after the crash. she had been covered with at least a foot of firefighter foam. >> my understand sthag she was not standing up, on the ground when a rig made contact with her. >> the fire chief says the kind of vehicle is likely one, or more of the specialized aircraft rescue firefighting trucks stationed at the air are port this, photo shows the large debris field around the plane are firefighters making rescues around the plane. hays white says the department is devastated calling it a tragic accident. >> after this, i plan to visit

you'll remember it's the same flight number as the plane that crashed this month. there is no explanation for the go around but faa points out these are not unusual and can occur for a variety of reasons. >> a domestic incident near summit hospital led to a frightening chase. a father rushing his infant into a stroller with a gun threatening to kill the babey and himself. officers moved in and she is live tonight at oakland police head quartier rers. >> this man is in police custody here in oakland. after taking his own child ran down the street threatening to kill her and himself. thanks to quick thinking on the part of hospital security it ended better than it could have. this is the culmination of a

bizarre chase on the streets of oakland. after a man took his baby from his girlfriend and ran down telegraph avenue with a dmild a stroll year so running down the veet with a stroller and a gun. >> yes. yes. to a boyfriend girlfriend dispute. >> a spokesperson for summit center tells abc 7 news after the 3-month-old was taken the mother ran in to one of their medical buildings asking for help. several security officers followed the man until police cornered him, guns drawn at telegraph and 36th. >> i heard them say get down. >> charles johnson lives nearby. >> it's crazy to endanger a child's live as well as yourself. in that type of situation.

>> with the baby in the stroller the suspect stashed his gun but couldn't get down on the ground. the police daysed him. minutes later the mother reunited with her young daughter. >> how is the baby? >> fine. the young baby reunited with her mom. >> the baby and mother both checked out there at the scene. also, the suspect was examined after being daysed. he now faces multiple charges. in oakland abc 7 news. >> good outcome, thank you. the family of a missing oakland girl will be an the streets trying to track her down. her father reported her missing last week. her faem father claimed he left the child m a car while he ran into a store there and she was gone when he came out. her father was arrested but not charged. >> in washington, d.c. today

president obama held an unkmekted -- unexpected news conference on the zimmerman fallout. zimmerman was aquitted of killing unarmed teenager trayvon martin. >> trayvon martin could have been me. >> the president said the nation needs to look for ways to move forward. his words resonated in oakland today leanne? >> well, there have been a number of marches and rallies near oakland but i think it was important for the community to hear the president say i get it, i've been there before. >> when trayvon martin was first shot the president said that could have been his son. today, the president told reporters he is now looking at it in a different way. >> trayvon martin could have been me 35 years ago. >> a picture whaft president looked like years ago seems to

reports -- aids say he is reluctant to talk about the verdict. trayvon marptin's parents thanking president obama and they said it gives them strength. the brother of george zimmerman says he's glad the president spoke since many have been waiting for it but he says believes peak foekusing on race does a disservice to the country. >> businesses in oakland preparing for potential fallout this weekend. businesses boarding up their windows and installing surveillance cameras. police are expected to be out in force. last weekend, protests turned violent when demonstrators threw rocks and damaged property. >> bay area muslim sorgss say they're standing with those who are against the verdict in the trayvon martin murder case.

jacinto mountains is rising above palm springs growing to nearly 25,000 acres and still only 15% contained. today, officials issued a warning for 700 homes in pine cove. that is on top of 6,000 evacuated three days ago. officials say the fire is spreading, it's a real challenge for them. and that smoke beginning to drift here to the bay area. abc 7 news is live with a look at how that is going to affect us. >> it's remarkable how upper level winds can carry smoke to the bay area, it's unfortunate that wildfire is burning down there. right now fog sitting near the coast here is a look at the smoke layers.
