>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> good morning, thanks for joining us. >> stanford university is working with experts to determine how a hacker broached -- breached the highly secure computer system. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo is on campus. what is the latest? >> it is summer. we have been talking to people since this morning so only now word of the massive hack job is making its way around campus. some people told me this got the official e-mail from the

university this morning. others say they saw it on the news first. i talked with a lot of people with faculty, staff, students. some immediately changed their password. others say they did not get to it. the stanford university network is where students and faculty go for everything. some every day. a woman uses it as remote access for math processes for a your and her financials and to access stanford library. many, as important as it sounds, shrug and are not surprised this has happened and are not worried. they have total trust that stanford will take care of it. >> i wasn't surprised because that is going on at major research institutions which is what stanford is. i changed my password right away. >> i received that e-mail but i have not done anything yet but i receiveed the notification from

the university. >> i changed my password and i hope the university has found ways to protect us from the intruce. if this university cannot protect us, i don't know who can. >> stanford university would not go on camera but they released a statement reading in part, we are not aware of any protected health information or social security numbers being compromised, and stanford does not conduct classified research. but, at the same time, stanford admits it does not fully know the scope of this hacking incident but the university is working with information security and law enforcement to get to the bottom of this. >> thank you, katie. we have breaking news from campbell. a car has crashed into a hair salon. look at this.

police say this morning a 92-year-old woman accidentally hit the gas rather than the brake and slammed into the salon at the campbell shopping center. there were four people in the salon. no one was hurt. when the crews removed the car the woman drove away. police did not cite her. >> and now the food trend is landing at sfo kicking off a few minutes ago at the airport and abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is there. amy? >> we are getting a lot of questions about how will this work. as we all know, space is at a premium at the airport. it is hard to even find a spot on the curb to squeeze if to drop off your bag so we are not parked by the food truck. they are way out at the very end of terminal one. we could not even park our tv van there. it is not just the bags you can check. for four thursdays can you check

out some food trucks. >> it began as an employee suggestion but it has opened to airport employees and airport passengers, as well. we are excited. >> passengers think it sounds cool, too, but they have questions about logistics. >> it would be good but the parking will be bad. traffic is bad anyway. >> officials realize the food trucks can not squeeze here among busy travelers and they will be tucked away at the end of terminal one with tables just inside where you can eat. >> we want to maintain the safe movement of our roadways so we were only able to accommodate two food trucks at a time. >> we heard concern for airport restaurants. >> it is not great. it will take away from the restaurants in the airport and around the area. >> officials say they told the restaurant employees about the trucks. >> a lot of them are very excited to try themselves and part of it is just the fact that

"scott" rachfal and numerous computers were seized from his he. he admitted to downloading child pornography for six years. kachkar-stylerichard "scott" raa part time professional photographer. >> a high speed chase helped with a big splash when a car crashed into a fire hydrant. it started in oakland when police went to check out a call of shots fired in a neighborhood. when they arrived they chased the car until it crashed. officers arrested a man and woman at the scene and they say the car they were in was stolen. the water was shut off after the crash. >> crews worked through the night to repair a broken gas line and the street around it in alamo. we were overhead as crews worked to can't leak after a construction crew broke the line yesterday. police evacuated homes and businesses near the leak and let everyone back in five hours later. >> oakland police hope surveillance video provides

clues into the shooting death of a woman driving through the fairfax district. 66-year-old judy salamon was shot on 3rd street yesterday less than a mile from her home. police say judy salamon crashed in a parked car and died at the scene. detectives are asking for the help of the public in identify the shooter. crimestoppers is offering $10,000ry ward for information leading to arrest. >> now the crash at sfo. the remains of three girls killed in the crash of asiana flight 214 will be cremated today according to chinese reports. the families took part in a private service at the cemetery in colma. san francisco mayor and the chinese counsel general offered condolences and the families will take their daughters' ashes back to china on saturday. a city attorney is working with law firms representing half a dozen crash victims and says 9 company is trying to settle cases before lawsuits are filed especially in the united states where the claims can run into

>> the death toll from the passenger train crash in spain is at 80 and startling video was released of the moments when it host control and left the crash. here is a look at the security camera footage, you can see the first two passenger cars crashing into a concrete wall at a town under a bridge and knock, out the camera. train was traveling 118 miles per hour, twice the permitted speed. the train was behind schedule and the driver now admitted he was going too fast trying to make up for the delay. a witness describes the scene. >> we heard a huge explosion. there were lots of people injured. we started to help the injured and we went to the other cars and it was shocking, not

>> an amazing underwater rescue of an injured shark off the coast of australia. seaworld released this video showing the team of divers lassoing the shark to bring it to the surface and remove a large hook stuck in its mouth. it took a while but dives got the shark up to their boat and worked to remove the hook. experts say it was an important rescue mission. there are fewer than 1,500 of these type of sharks off the east coast of veilia. a study points to a disadvantage of being a tall woman. for every 4" above average height there is 13 percent higher risk of developing cancer. average height in the united states is 5' 4" and most menopausal women were looked at with a link even after factoring able, hormone therapy, alcohol use and ethnicity. tall women get normal screening tests and try to reduce live

small craft advisory is what we have this afternoon if you are head on to the water it will be can choppy and breezy at 15- to 25-knots into the delta community. our wins are fastest at sfo at 16, and we have it will-mile-per-hour wind at concord and 20 at fairfield so the sea breeze is stronger today than yesterday. that is why we are seeing the clouds hang around the usual spots with a stronger sea breeze from daly city and colma up to friend and reaching across the bay bridge toward oakland and alameda and berkeley is where we have our best cloud cover besides the coast, of course. we will talk about temperatures, clouds are keeping us in the 50's in most areas in san francisco, and downtown, if you are headed out to lunch, at 60, beating the crowds. as far as richmond, 56, and it will in the 60's around san leandro and union city and palo alto and petaluma and 77, though, at santa clara for day two of 49ers' catch and today,

in napa, the rangers are opening their catch and 82 in walnut creek and pleasanton for the warmer spot. from the east bay you can see the shoreline is clearing and how the clouds are retreating toward the coast. we have a summer spread this afternoon and we could be 60 at the coast 100 inland. mild tonight and fog tomorrow morning and cooler through the weekend, especially our inland neighbors. when you are in the upper 90's you have the greatest amount capacity to fall. the clouds this morning stayed mainly around the bay and into the north bay valley, and as we head in the afternoon hours we will see sunshine in a lot of areas and probably not is much at the coast but the weather that is problematic will be in the sierra today and through the week. mid-80's if most of the south bay, and 90's around los gatos and gilroy and mid-to-upper 70's at millbrae, and upper 60's to near 70 downtown and south san francisco, and mid-80's to near
