already sunny in concord. later on you'll see in the highs in the low to mid-80s. we'll talk about how long the cooling trend lasts and seven-day outlook. i'll detail it for you coming up. >> we have developing news in san leandro, a neighborhood is without water after an early morning main break. it happened just before 1:00 this morning on foothill boulevard. water officials say the six inch main broke sending water down. it took an hour to shut off the leak. the repair could take until tomorrow to get water back on. breaking news out of florida, seven people are dead including a gunman after a shooting at an apartment complex. police say the gunman was shot dead by a s.w.a.t. team after a standoff. at least four people were

found dead inside the building. another victim was found dead across the street. it's unknown whether that person was targeted or hit by a stray bullet. >> happening today, an oakland community will hold a meeting about getting private police patrols in their neighborhood. residents plead to city leaders to put an end to the violence. one was shot and killed in her car near her home. just last week 8-year-old was shot and killed during a sleepover at a friend's house. oakland residents say they are fed up with the random attacks and hope to hire patrols to help police. >> i think one more set of eyes and some sort of official looking vehicle, what do you have to lose? >> the private security firm residents are considering would patrol the neighborhood at a cost $15 per month per household. >> the family of a

21-month-old missing girl she was last seen by her dead. he told police he left convenience store and discovered her might have gone witnesses say they saw a woman walking with a girl matching her description. >> an 18-year-old pleasanton man faces charges after police say he ran his car into a two bicycles last month. he turned himself into police yesterday. 58-year-old died on foothill road. her husband survived the crash. they also arrested hull's father. his father is a convicted felon and banned from owning guns. they found two assault rifles when searching the family's home. >> a jury finds san mateo chief probation officer guilty of possessing child pornography. stewart forest argued that

a bart contract deal. this morning there are new accusations from the unions representing bart workers. they have filed a conflict of interest claim accusing one of profiting from the strike. provided shuttle buses at a cost of more than $12,000. the union says that is not fair but a bart spokesman replied that allegation is false attack adding the real amount was only $500. caltrans is going find out next month when the new east span can open. engineers will determine if they can open before seismic repairs are finished. original plans have the bridge opening labor day weekend. >> traffic is running smoothly on the bay bridge after it was shorter down for a short time yesterday

because of a safety concern. sky7hd was overhead and suspicious device was found at treasure island exit. it turned out to be a canister that ended up being harmless. it was closed yesterday afternoon. that closure lasted about 30 minutes. we caught some drivers going in the wrong direction to turn back. others who were stuck got oust their cars there and walked around while they waited. >> that bridge shut down during a hectic commute across the bay area thanks to two baseball games and three concerts. it was carmageddon across the a's game. people were jammed as they flocked to candle park for concerts. many people were losing their patience. >> what do you think about this traffic? >> it's a nightmare. >> other events includes the

>> what she is talking about the county is seizing her property under eminent domain to expand runways. the county is offering her $1735,000 for six and a half acres. it's assessed at $406,000. >> it's been emotional rollercoaster. our government should be protecting us and they are not. they are kind of taking our property. >> the family's attorney says the constitution guarantees a jury to decide but eminent domain, tax records can't be shown to the jury. >> they will never hear in my opinion is the biggest injustice in the case so far. >> the county's attorneys office says the airport manager would be speaking for the county. all he could tell you about he was barred about talking about case. >> you can't talk about price? >> no. >> you can't talkt

here is a look at live doppler 7-hd where all is quiet. we are tracking a very healthy marine layer, mount tam showing all great from above, but this will evaporate for most of you. san francisco only partial sunshine, right now we are sitting at 56 degrees and airport delays in san francisco. partial sunshine as you head down to the airport. it's brightening up a little bit. san jose still cloudy at 58 and mountain view staying in the low 60 from vollmer peak. mount diablo where we've been enjoying sunshine all morning long. gusty winds and a&m degrees in fairfield. that will be transporting the cooler air mass so high temperatures a little below average. we're looking at 55 in napa. golden gate, you may need your wipers and it's cool for the weekend, changes come

tuesday, but i think you'll feel them more significant low wednesday. areas of low pressure, it's continuing to spin well in the great basin and that is producing the southern showers around yosemite and northeastern california. for us it means a steady onshore flow. southwest winds, 10-20 miles an hour. keeping it gray towards the coast but the financial district will be sunny and giants should see sunshine. 80 in afternoon in san jose. maybe upper 70s. temperatures will cooler than average and we'll be looking at peninsula numbers ranging from low 70s in san jose. as you head further south, palo alto upper 70s today. san francisco we talked about some sunshine for you. mid-60s up in the north bay. drag races for sonoma are cooler afternoon for you at 75 and in the east bay, we're looking at berkeley today, festival, upper 60s, nice

welcome back. it's 8:30. thanks for joining us. we are starting a quick look at the weather with lisa argen. >> good morning to you. here is a look from mount tam. earlier i said a little fog, it's a lot of fog. we are looking at mist and drizzle and airport delays. another cool day downtown with temperatures in the low to mid-60s and only partial clearings. if you head out of the city we will look for more pleasant afternoon. san jose right now, 58. 55 in half moon bay. we are looking at temperatures to climb through the 70s, near 80 degrees in gilroy. it is gray in well in parts of gilroy but later at 10:00, 61 degrees. by 1:00, in the mid 70s, upper 70s by 4:00 and look for breeze to kick in by the evening hours. temperatures are trending

cooler from yesterday and right on through tomorrow but i'll let you know when things turn around. we're talking a lot warmer in the seven-day outlook. >> new this morning, crews have contained a brush fire that burned three acres in pittsburg. it broke out just before 9:00 near john henry johnson parkway. it was closed last month due to budget cuts. a former police officer who pepper-sprayed students at u.c. davis previous the is now seeking payment from the state. he was fired for his actions but now he is filed a workers' compensation claim. nannette miranda has the story. >> reporter: john pike the former u.c. police lieutenant who got worldwide criticism for dousing demonstrators with pepper spray wants

meteorologist lisa argen joins us now. if you like sun, fog, wind, cool temperatures. you've got it all. >> maybe too much in the way of fog in the city. it has been gray and that will continue for the weekend and subtle changes. we're not talking extremes anymore except for the gray because that has been pretty extreme in san francisco. usually we get some clearing. there hasn't been much. today partial clearing in downtown san francisco. live doppler 7-hd. there is a sweep. we are looking a reason why this marine layer is so expensive. it's over 27,000 feet deep. a picture from mount tam and we will look for burn back to begin in parts of the north bay. the temperatures are going to be much cooler than average in the north bay. 56 in san francisco. some sunshine around the

airport with delays over an hour. san jose, 58 and we're getting some sunshine there with mid on ao7s at the coast. -- mid ao7s at the coast. and it's been mid-50s at the coast but the numbers still in the cool side through livermore. 61 in los gatos and winds will keep it cooler than average in the inland east bay. few peeks of sunshine in san jose. drizzle at the coast. cooler weather on tap and this is below average. things will change by the middle of the week but not a lot warmer. we're talking more average temperatures for late july and into august as we begin august. here is the reason why the marine layer has been with us so extensively. as the weak low moves closer

to southern california and here is the week ahead in san jose with a cool start on monday. your warmest day looks about friday and then dropping a bit towards next weekend. nothing extreme but we are still looking at the showers and thunderstorms here as area of low pressure spins. and 95, risks of thunder and mt. shasta could see a few thunderstorms. 64 in monterey. back home, 25 degree spread from our coast to our inland east bay, 85 in livermore. 72 in richmond and santa cruz coming in with afternoon sun at 72. game is 6:00 tonight for the giants and hopefully they can do something. dropping to the ao7s and sun setting at 8:23. it will be breezy and gray will be back. temperatures staying pretty much where they are right on through the early part of the
