72 hours strike notice and the board is meeting this morning. abc7 news reporter at the bart station in san leandro. >> bart riders are upset and a woman told us she is going to cry, she is going did pray. a man said he wish he stayed on strike last month rather than putting commuters through this zigging and zagging. unions announced there will be a strike on monday if they cannot reach an agreement. that doesn't look likely. the bart directors who is witnessed the nexts say the talks have been bizarre and personalities getting in the way. commuters say they don't want to be the ones who pay the price for the inability to agree on a contract. >> we will lose 10 percent of our staff. i work at san francisco general and it is inconvenient for the patients and the people. and this is just the kitchen.

the strike last month resulted in long lines and clogged freeways and transportation officials are encouraging people who can work from home to do so. they say expect long delay if the trains are not running. negotiations continue through the weekend but the two sides are very far apart. >> one employee perk not being negotiated costs the company $2 million a year. our media partner, the "contra costa times" reports free bart passes for employees and their families for life. the board president said he is not convinced the policy should be changed because they only account for half of a percent of the 400,000 weekday trips. the's of the transit union says it is something that a lost companies do for their employees offering employee discounts or

our news reporter is on the scene with the damage. matt? >> firefighters put out the lat of the hotspots in the past 15 minutes but you can see the damage done by the flames, the carport melted, six cars were destroyed. this call came in at 3:15 with firefighters arriving and seeing flames 20' to 30' in the air and concerns it spread to the nearby homes. no homes were damaged. neighbors described to me what woke them up. >> people were pounding on the doors and as they pounded on the doors you do hear the tires exploding and that woke us up and popped out and you can see the major glow. it was scary. >> firefighters say they are investigating what caused this fire but you can see back out here the big mess it left behind and firefighters are still here and they are making sure they will have to clean up everything that is on the ground, the

grounds is very wet from all the water though had to use for the fire and we will be here all morning and bring you updates right here. >> thank you, matt. san jose police want to lend more this morning about the drowning of a juvenile who drowned on charm glow court in the southeast part of san jose. the tragedy happened after 6:00 p.m. and the santa clara medical examiner has not released the victim's name or age. >> a bay area mom faced child endangerment charges for leaving her son to watch a puppet show at the library while she went home for a hour. the woman was confronted when she picked him up in daly city. she said she went home to make sure the stove was off and eat lunch. the arraignment is slated for next month. >> we have learned that the city of richmond plans to file a lawsuit against chevron

oakland. police say that the motorcyclist crashed near 3rd street before 11:00 and a speeding driver in a car had a separate accident flipping their car and it landed on the motorcyclist. the motorcyclist died at the scene. the driver of the car was not hurt. the overpass will be closed in both directions until later this morning. >> police are investigating a deadly shooting outside a liquor store in northwest berkeley that happened outside bing's accomplish shortly after 9:00 last night. a 24-year-old man was found on the street with gunshot wounds. he died at the hospital. homicide detectives have canvassed the area for information and checking local businesses for surveillance video. >> a former elementary school was convicted of molesting self students and could be sentenced to life in prison. craig chandler was found guilty

on the bay bridge, the san mateo, and, now, the dumbarton, so as we start with the dumbarton this is where we have a crash, first reported as a metal debris in the westbound 84th at high-rise, and that caused an accident, so, right now we have one lane blocked and slowing in the area. further to the not on the san mateo bridge we also have an accident blocking at least one lane involving a big rig and as we led to the bay bridge we have yet another crash westbound side of the 80 at incline and that is one lane blocked and causing quite the slowing with the bay bridge metering lights turned on because of this. as we go to our maze as we look outside you can see how traffic is already starting to slow down as you make it out of berkeley toward the maze and that is all cue to the -- due to the crash. hopefully it will be cleared up momentarily. >> jamie lee curtis is resting after being rushed to a hospital following a traffic accident in
