it's happening cupertino. sky 7 where all northbound lanes are closed because of an injury accident. cars are being allowed to slowly pass by on fa'nx shoulder as you can see. the accident happened about a half hour ago. one car flipped over, we believe two, three other cars were involved. there have been several ambulances spotted at the scene no. word on how many

and it just caused, well, do you know what? looks like good progress sk made now, but what's happening when we were stuck in this is that you have nerve a dead stop, then, people running out of gas. other cars are overheating. then you have chp officers trying to drive in and it was back up on top of back up, we've got a shot of what the metering lights are. >> commuters thought they'd caught a break today. you can tell it's just been a mess out there. in san francisco we have more. vic? >> first of all, larry ought to move closer to the city. on a serious note can you imagine what it would have been like if there was a bart strike?

take a look now i'm told all rains -- lanes did open but that is to be expected. here is how it happened this morning. this is shot by a passing motorist. the truck moving west around 5 clb:45. he noticed something wrong with the right front tire. >> i feel like i2wu'ñ was on the front tire. then, i heard the front tire go out. >> i saw flames coming up from the wipers so i dropped the fire extinguisher. >> the driver managed to get out. and minutes later created a traffic nightmare. flames shooting 30 feet. it took firefighters an hour

to extinguish the blaze. but the fire had taken its toll. three westbound lanes were still closed by chp. this is a bridge traffic we thought would be caused by a strike. >> we woke up there was no bart strike. >> as commuters inched along, temperatures works on plans to move it from the roadway. destroyed by the fire with a contents of the truck food supplies made the truck heavier, more difficult to remove. >> they're probably going to have to cut the trailer in half and try offloading the debris. >> crews dragged them on to trucks. the trailer flattened and both take yaen way by 2:30.

breaking news in the south bay, two northbound lanes of highway 85 in cupertino have reopened now caused by a horrible crash. one car ripped over. chp was letting cars go by on the shoulder as they work to clear lanes we did see crews pushing the car off to the other shoulder so two lanes reopened.
