>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> good morning, former president george w. bush is resting in texas hospital after having unplanned surgery to open a blocked artery to his heart. abc7 news reporter joins us to discuss it. >> former president bush had the surgery this morning two re-open the artery using that is called a stent, a wire tube inserted in the blockage and inflated by a balloon to re-open the passage. the block average was discovered during a test during a routine

midnight if an agreement is not reached. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo joins with the temporary transbay terminal of san francisco. riders are anxious for a resolution. >> i can tell you we wait to hear what a.c. transit has to say i have talked to a lost bus commuters and they say if there is a strike they can take bart if they have to. they don't have to like it. a lot commuters coasting into san francisco on board an a.c. transit bus say they sympathize with the workers. >> it is a hard situation when a strike is your only recourse, when you are trying to negotiate in these circumstances so what else are they going to do? >> more than 1,600 employee could walk off at midnight, drivers and staff, more than 180,000 riders would be left in the lunch. their sympathies could diminish if they cannot catch the bus. >> i am for the workers but for

>> lincoln boulevard was closed and just re-opened after being closed all morning because of the fire. the national cemetery remains closed to the public for now. firefighters mop up the blaze which as you can see happened in the southwest corner at the presidio. this fast moving brushfire inside the presidio was a challenge for firefighters as it burned through this grove getting into the grove was tough, and water had to be trucked in because there were no hydrants. by sun, the fire was out but plenty of hot spots remained and one thing became very clear: just how close the fire came to the national cemetery. >> our concern is the residents and tenants here on the presidio but we have a lot historic and natural resources we are worried about, as well. >> some of the gray sites date back to the civil war. >> the cemetery is to us, sacred

francisco for abc7 news. >> new this morning, property owners are picking through what is left of their belongings after a three-alarm fire in san jose. it break out at the public storage facility just before 7:00 and firefighters were able to knock it down before it got out-of-control but not before four storage units were destroyed. no word on the cause. >> developing news, a statewide amber alert is in effect for two children taken from san diego county. a 16-year-old hannah anderson and her eight-year-old brother are reported missing and they are looking for james dimaggio who killed or kidnapped them after killing their mother. he is driving a blue nissan. san diego county deputies say that crews discovered the body of christina anderson, along with a child's body, inside this burning house last night. the child's identity has not

been released and police say dimaggio owned the home and involved in a close relationship with the mother. the use of technology in emergency alerts have gone do a new live part of a national program from the fema this year. matt joins us from san jose with that story. >> caltrain signs are useful for amber alerts include this one on 880 letting drivers know about the suspect's vehicle. but a new program is reaching people everywhere, through their cell phones, whether they like it or not. the text message of two missing kids near san diego came late last night in the bay area and the amber alert was expanded state-wide, phones lit up with the noise some described as a fire alarm scaring many people sleeping in bed. this facebook posts says was awoken with a jolt and near heart attack by an amber alert. twitter pages were hit with so many questions they tweet add link to explain what the alert was about.

>> i weather up to my phone it rang and i text, i looked offer and it said amber alert and i was, like, what? who sent this to me, i don't remember signing up for the adirts. >> many did not sign up for the emergency alert program that started at the beginning of the year and is operated by the federal emergency management agency. if you own a phone capable of the alerts and you in the area where an alert is issued, you will get it. >> i had no idea they would send it from the iphone until i saw it there. >> it is not just amber alerts but a president can use the wireless emergency ahurt program to send you a message and government agencies can can also let you know of an imminent threat in your area like extreme weather or chemical spill. most cell phone calls do not charge for the alerts. some people we spoke with today said that in theory it sounded like a good program but they reported some trouble with it saying it disappeared when they tried to find it or this was a lack of helpful information or

>> the state department is urging all americans living in yemen to leave the country immediately. the new warning came at 1:30

this morning. government workers are evacuated. the state department says that terrorist activities and civil unrest are making it unsafe for americans to stay. this new warning comes as embassies in the middle east remain closed. a senior official tells abc7 news it is related to a terror plot originated in yemen called for using vehicles to attack the american embassy along with other targets. >> penn state police have a shooting suspect in custody after he opened fire at a municipal meeting and killed three people. it happened last night at ross township 85 miles north of philadelphia. a witness says that the gunman fired through a wall into the public meeting before a local official tackled him and shot him with his own gun. investigators say the suspect had an ongoing dispute with township officials over the possible condemnation of his property. >> take a look at this. a massive sinkhole swallowing up

>> exactly. if summer does not come back people could get mad at the messenger. this is supposed to come back, say, in november, and supposed to be one of the hottest months in the bay area. everyone jumped up to ten in the last 15 minutes and the cloud deck is rising, no drizzle out there, we still have flight arrival delays if sfo at an hour and 13 minutes so check out the flight tracker at abc7news.com. look for the airplane. the dry air is moving in the upper part of the atmosphere and work its way down with a slower reveal of sunshine because it is not getting everywhere in one spot. the east bay and south bay usually clear out and it works its way up but now it is clearing everywhere. what will that did?

it will keep our temperatures cool, oakland and san francisco and half moon bay are stuck in the 50's and everyone else is in the 60's until you get to antioch at 72 and in san jose, 64 and same in san ramon and 60 in hayward, and same with novato and napa. the golden gate bridge is not bad for picture taking because we can see the bridge and blue in between the clouds. this is the same every day until the weekend when the dry air will move in the lower level of the atmosphere. from the embarcadero here in san francisco, where it is going to be 61 today and seven degrees cooler-than-average and it will be worse, or, say, greater, in napa and san jose, and livermore and redwood city mine and ten degrees cooler-than-average. here is what will go on in the south, 73 in san jose, and los gatos and morgan hill and gilroy possibly making it to 80 and sun around santa cruz and 68. we will have low-to-mid 70's in the the peninsula and we will

struggle to reach 60 along the coast and 61 downtown but 66 in south san francisco and petaluma at 69, and low-to-mid 70's for everyone else in the north bay valley. at the beaches, a struggle to reach the upper 50's and midtown more 60's for the east bay shore and castro valley and union city and fremont possibly the low 70's and the free air conditioning in the east bay valleys up to 80. at the game, dress warmly, it is 60 at 7:15 with drizzle likely again bit end. here is the pool air and as it moves to the north it will bring us a better chance of drizzle tomorrow morning and thursday morning, and thursday afternoon, though, the thunderstorms to our north and to our east, so, high fire danger will develop to our northeast on thursday and the thunderstorms will move away and solve the wet weather and bring us the warmer temperatures saturday, sunday, and monday. until then, summer is on break again. >> okay, usually september and
