and one in richmond. authorities are type limited -- tightlipped about the shift in search locations. >> we have other steps and areas do look into but right new we are sending and focusing on this specific area. >> police say coke was last seen with this man, 56-year-old register sex offender who was charged with murder in the past. the two dated 20 year ago. he has been this custody since tuesday and is being held without bail. >> he is a "person of interest" and is currently in custody for an unrelated offense. at this time in the investigation he only is a "person of interest" because they were then to each other. >> sandra's family sent this statement to us this morning reading in part "we are enormously grateful for the efforts of everyone to find sandra, we want to do everything we can at this point to help

that search." deputies say they are prepared to continue the search until they find sandra coke or until they are certain she is no longer in this area. >> we are learning more of the man being questioned in coke's disappearance. according to a sex offend are registry is considered a high risk offender convicted of rape and kidnapping. our media partner reports that in 1983 he was acquitted for the murder of a woman he had known since elementary school. in 1988 he pleaded no contest to the killing of a fellow inmate and is being held if parole violation. >> the bay area is facing another strike threat from bart workers with talks resuming and the governor is watching the situation and could impose a 60-day cooling off period.

joined with more. the negotiations were scheduled to get underway at 10:00 a.m. this morning and we have seen both side going to the caltran building behind me and this is actually the second day of negotiations since the governor's board of inquiry hell the hearing on wednesday in oakland. the unions said they think they can get this done with concerted negotiations this weekend, bart, eastern, wants the governor to grant a 60-day cooling off period and the district told the board of inquiry that the two sides are still $100 million apart on the main economic issues and the unions say it is significantly less than that. bart lead negotiator told us this morning that talks are fence but cordial. >> i don't raise my voice or yell or scream and they don't, either, it is a polite relationship. everyone is trying to do their job. >> we are ready to negotiate and see to we can get any kind of deal. hopefully, the district is

foster parent for 16 years and volunteered at local elementary schools and has been involved with youth activities in the community. the santa cruz sheriff is asking for help from the public in identifying other child victims. >> a san francisco entrepreneur featured on oprah is due in court on domestic violence charges. this is video of the man during the 2008 interview with oprah about the secret to his mull -- multimillion dollar success. he was arrested at his luxury home. the d.a. said he is charmed with 45 counts of domestic violence including assault with a deadly weapon which was a pillow. he posted $125,000 bail and the tone denies the charges calling them over blown. >> high school students are retaking advance placement exams this morning because their initial scores were thrown out. this is after a court canceled a hearing in redwood city yesterday over a lawsuit filed

>> in southern california a massive wildfire growing if riverside county burning 85 miles east los angeles. 1,600 firefighters are battling the fire. it is jumping from home to home since it started two days ago. 26 homes and one commercial building are gone. it destroys 16,000 acres, several small mountain communities are under mandatory evacuation orders and five firefighters and a resident have been hurt. the fire, now, is about 25 percent contained. >> hundreds of kids are now ready for the start of a new academic year because of a charity's efforts giving out needed school supplies. and new to san jose with the story. >> a lot is happening.

this is by appointment only so it will be busy all day as students are reaching for their favorite backpack off the walls. organizers say the economy is improving, the heed for school supplies continues to grow. school starts next week for many students in san jose. being ready for the first day of class is not a given for some. that is why sacred heart community service has been giving away backpacks and school supplies for 11 years. >> this makes you excited to go to school? >> yes. >> why? >> look cool on the first day? >> i am a single mom so it's great for the children and myself. >> the first year in 2002, 150 backpacks were handed out and this year 2,462 were donated the many are starting to get jobs but often it is not enough.
