pressure off the coast that is bringing a red flag warning as soon as tonight for the next several days. dry lightning, possible fires around the bay area. we will talk about that, how long it's going to last in a few moments. katie. >> thank you, lisa. developing news. hayward police are investigating a fatal crash that left one man dead and two others injured. authorities say a pickup truck smashed into a parked tractor-trailer truck on industrial boulevard and hall road around 4:15 this morning. a passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. he has not yet been identified. the 26-year-old driver and another passenger in the pickup were taken to the hospital in serious condition. police say speed was a factor in the crash and they are investigating whether the driver had been drinking. east-bound lanes on industrial boulevard to interstate 880 are closed while police investigate. in the south bay, chp investigators are asking for the public's help in locating a ford pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident. last night, around 8:45, a man was hit while crossing the

street in san jose. witnesses say they saw a late-model full-size ford pickup with oversize tires drive away. it was described as being light in color, possibly with a stripe down the hood. witnesses could not provide a description of the driver and they did not see the license plate number. developing news, authorities in sonoma county are looking for the driver after pickup truck who slammed through the front door of a home and then ran away from the scene. it happened just before 2:00 a.m. outside petaluma on cleveland avenue. you see inned video the home sustained major damage. an elderly woman was asleep in the back of the house but was not hurt. so far authorities have not found the driver. the chp is investigating this one. delving news, police investigating a fatal stabbing at an ant -- antioch gas station. there was a man suffering from stab wounds. he was taken to the hospital where he died.

detectives say they are questioning a man who may have been fighting with the victim. a popular santa cruz surfing instructor is in jail this morning. he's accused of secretly taking pictures and recording video of his students, and that's not all. the 38-year-old dylan greiner was arrested on charges of lewd acts with children. we have more on what led to the arrest. >> 38-year-old dylan greiner is accused of lewd acts with two teenage girls. police say he lured the 14 and 15-year-old girls to his surf school by offering free lessons. >> he continues that relationship with him to the point it grows to an inappropriate relationship where he is making sexual advances toward him, and photographing them in very personal body parts. >> police served search warrants at his surf school and home. they collected computers, one with evidence that leaves detectives to believe there are more victims. >> there were videos taken in the store from the dressing room, as well, depicting young

girls who were getting changed into wet suits there at the business. >> dylan greiner has become very well-known on cowell beach where he teaches surf lessons. almosts credit him with cleaning up the beach after helping pass a curfew to keep home press people off the beach at night. >> he did a great thing and it made everything else happen. as you can see, they aren't here. he did a good thing. nobody had any clue. we are all appalled. >> right now police are trying to locate other victims. they are encouraging parents to have a talk with their kids if they have taken lessons at the santa cruz surf school. >> if you think there is something there, bring it forward, let us work with your child, and let us get the services that they need. >> dylan greiner is being held on a half million dollars bond. police expect to file further charges once more victims are

identified. abc7 news. police in union city have released this sketch of a suspect wanted for indecent exposure and child molestation. he's described asdrubal cabrera kegs, mid-50s, 6 feet, 200 pounds and either bald or very short wear. he's been spotted wearing a tan fisherman-style hat with a chinstrap and eyeglasses. police are investigating a payments shooting in east oakland. a woman is dead and two injured including a child. there was a shooting on mcarthur boulevard at 73rd avenue around 9:00 30 last night. officers found a man and woman inside a car with gunshot wounds. woman was dead. the man was taken in the hospital and is expected to survive. a 4 your old boy was hit by shattered glass but only suffered minor injuries. list have not released suspect information. police are looking for a gunman who shot four people over a stolen purse. john alston has details.

>> the shooting took place in uptown, oakland in the shadow of the fox theater and trendy eateries. three stylists from the bad boys salon were shot in front of their business, along with another person who just happened to be on the sidewalk. >> they went out there and saw the blood. doing my best to hold his wounds. >> the trouble began yesterday when somebody broke into the car on telegraph avenue and grabbed a purse. it belonged to this man's girlfriend who was a stylist in the salon. >> so i chased him down 18th street and i caught him. i got the purse back. him and his friend, whatever, they ran away. >> witnesses say at least one of them returned to the hair salon on a bike and with a gun. this man was in a cafe across the street. >> i heard a pop, pop. i walk out, and i see the gentleman shooting marquis when he's on the ground and i go over and render first aid. >> before i get back i hear a bunch of siren and i see people laying on the ground and they are shot, and i find out my girl got shot.

all of this over a broken window and a few meaningless possessions. it's pointless. >> police are checking several surveillance cameras, hoping it will lead to the gunman. it was on telegraph and 18th street. even though police say violent crime in this section of oakland is relatively rare, some neighbors are not surprised. >> it's not shocking. one of the things that the community really has called for is more presence with the police. >> john alston, abc7 news. >> san francisco fire chief banned firefighters from using their helmet video. it happen after the asiana fire crash. video shows a fire department rig running over a young passenger who was covered in fire retardant foam. the battalion chief was directing rig movements and

earthquakes. >> now i can't even remember where it was. >> lee baker looks out from his hayward hills home hours after csu east bay's warren hall was demolished. he can't remember it without the landmark that towered over campus and defined the city's skyline for the last 40 years. >> you felt like you were coming home when you saw the tower. contractors set off 462 pounds of explosives. the usgs calls it a man-made earthquake. it leaned and collapsed in on itself. the force created about a magnitude 2.0 quake. u.s.g.s. will study the impact it had on the area. it was study the hayward fault. >> it is the fault that has the highest probability in the bay area of generating the next large earthquake. the 13 story building that also housed classrooms was built along the fault more than 40 years ago. it has been abandoned for the last two years after it was deem the most seismically unsafe building in the cal state system. the usgs used about 600 of these

visibility. just 57 degrees. from mt. tam a little bit in the way of high cloudiness. we will see more of that tomorrow. today featuring the sunshine and rapid warmup. 17 by the delta right now. we are looking at those winds shifting offshore throughout the afternoon. look at all the 60s, from santa rosa, livermore and concord. so we are looking at the pollutants already getting gathered down toward the surface. so the ozone is really increasing and that's allowing for a spare-the-air day today. not much in the way of coastal clouds for the next couple of hours. maybe an hour or so. ed headline today, heating up, and thunder threat with the possibility of dry lightning early on and maybe wetting rains in the days ahead. here's a look at a sunny san jose. the poorest air quality will be in the east bay today. be advised of that. it's a one-day event, though, our heat-up. here's why. you can already see the rotation from an area of low pressure well offshore, bringing up the

mid-level clouds, the subtropical moisture that will feed into the low in the section several days. we will be right in the middle of that as this area of low pressure gets closer and then hangs on offshore. today it's about the high pressure cell that's bringing the heat that's correct one-day warmup, and then it's this system here that's initiated the fire weather watch for late tonight into tomorrow, and possibly right on through wednesday. so gusty winds. the potential for that with the dry lightning and then some wetting rains. but with that the lightning always a concern for new fire starts with that tender-dry brush. already in the 80s above 1500 feet. critical fire weather the next couple days. 85 santa clara, 83 in sunnyvale with 80 in santa cruz. warm day today on the peninsula. 87 for redwood city and even along the coast we will get warmed to. 75 downtown. up in the north bay look at the triple digits from ukiah to

new research could help in the fight against fibromyalgia. health and science reporter carolyn johnson tells us about a new test that might finally help some. >> is there anyplace that doesn't hurt? >> nearly all the key points on her arms are painfully tender. it's one of the ways doctors diagnose fibromyalgia. a chronic neurosensory disorder that causes widespread muscle pain, joint stiffness and fatigue. >> i cried for everything. i was in pain all the time. >> on average it takes about three to five years for patients like her to get a fibromyalgia diagnosis. >> so i was getting depressed because i didn't get anything accomplished. >> people shouldn't be looked at as if they are neurotic or hysterical or hyperchondriacs. this doctor has developed what he said is the very first blood test to diagnose fibromyalgia. in the lab he measures blood markers found in the immune system. >> white blood cells produce normal proteins but when you have fibromyalgia, research shows you have less production

of two specific types. >> we were struck by the fact they were not producing these proteins in normal quantities. >> in a study of 110 patients with the fibermyalgia diagnosis, the test was positive in 93% of the cases. he said a lack of the protein suppresses the immune system which may explain why patients are vulnerable to all types of stress. >> it plays a role, for example, in a person might have depression, why a person might develop extreme pain anywhere they are touched. why they are terrible fatigue. >> another doctor told blanca she might have fibromyalgia but she felt a blood test would be. more definitive and bring her a peace of mind. for this story, epigenetics covered the cost of that test. >> the only proof i have is how i feel, right? i don't have anything that tells me, yes, you have this. >> but other doctors who treat the disease said the test won't tell them any more than a physical exam reveals. they point out the protein markers may be found in people

offsetting the warming the poorer air quality. higher pressure is moving in and that will make for a spare-the-air day today. poor quality in the east bay. but the fog is banked up along the coast. also the red flag warning that goes into effect midnight tonight for most of the bay area. it's going to stay with us probably until early wednesday. so these highlighted areas we can see dry lightning, thunderstorm activity and even wetting rains and all of this could he ignite fires with the dry fuel around the bay. you see it looks hazy right now. we will look for a rough day today for parts of the east bay. already in the 60s and 70s in the higher elevations. san francisco in the low 60s. san francisco 64 with 57 half moon bay. still fog there but that will disappear. from mt. tam you can see some of the fingers of fog and clear above with numbers in the 60s in the north bay. by the delta already in the 70s. concord 63 and 68 in the livermore valley. take a look at this picture from

our sutro tower. you can notice that, yeah, not a pretty sight. but we will be looking at mostly sunny sky throughout the entire bay area today. with that heat up, we are well above normal. red flag warning begins tonight and the winds already very light going offshore. looks nice and clear here in san jose. but once again the spare the air day for the entire bay area. out in the east bay you will see it, you will feel it, and here's a look at our visible satellite. also seeing the different types of clouds. we have the low clouds and fog here already burning back to the coast. but moisture pulling out from santa barbara a, southern california, and it's this moisture that will interact with an area of low pressure that is just going to sit here for the next several days. once it allows for that moisture to move on up, we get heating of the sun, it looks like the best chance of showers and thunderstorms will be overnight monday into tuesday with that low. we will look for some of these areas to contain the build-ups,

the cumulus clouds throughout the afternoon tomorrow. but late tomorrow into tuesday i think we could see a better possibility of thunderstorms and some gusty winds with the potential for the lightning and the fire strikes around here. but it's not only the bay area warming up and heating up with the high fire danger, all the way into the sierra nevada with temperatures in the 80s and 90s. 101 in sacramento, 104 in fresno. we are looking at very warm temperatures. this system just sitting offshore for the neck -- the next several days. until about thursday we will be set in this pattern with the high humidity and moisture. today sunny and warm in oakland. 82. 85 in palo alto with temperatures above normal in san jose. 86 for you. if you are headed out to the ballgame, it's going to be very warm out there with mid-70s to near 80 throughout most of the afternoon. we will look for the best chance of thunderstorms late tomorrow, overnight into tuesday morning, and looking at the thunder
