disappearance and death of criminal defense investigator sandra coke, spoke exclusively with the bay year news group. randy alana is in jail for parole violations, including not charging his gps, resisting arrest and having contact with sandra coke. on friday his parole was revoked. alan na has a long criminal past, stay-away order to keep him from seeing coke but he said the two were in a loving relationship, and, quote, we won'tly talk about getting married. coke's family denies the twod hd any involvement since dating years ago. why would be or anyone else believe what he has to say? but alap na claims when he was not in jail, he was living with coke. sharing her north oakland home. when i showed his photo to neighbors who didn't want to go

on camera, few said they'd seen alana on their street over the last few months. >> yeah, right there. ain't to doubt about it. that's him. and it's bad. real bad. >> did see him walking to the store and back, about he never looked in my direction. >> the manager of uptown market and liquor tells me both alana and coke were regular customers of his but he doesn't remember seeing them together. authorities say the two were together the night coke vanished but they're being careful not to call alana a suspect. he is being held for parole violation without bail. those are the only charges he faces right now. notify other charges are filed he'll be released in six months. >> carolyn: the weather could take a few twists and turns. our meteorologist leigh glaser is here. >> leigh: today we had temperatures near 100 degrees inland, and tonight and for at

least the next two or three days we're talking about chance of isolated thunderstorms across the bay area. area of low pressure, you can see the counterclockwise spin just to the south of point reyes -- monterey bay. that's the culprit helping to lift the subtropical moisture that is causing isolated thunderstorms through the spine of the sierra right now. the subtropical moisture is expected to move west and possibly bring the bay area some thunderstorms monday night and tuesday, and lingering into's wednesday. today, it was very hot inland and we could see some isolated thunder. that's coming up. >> carolyn: the weather is making perfect conditions for wildfires. butte county is the site of one of ten wildfires currently burning in california. this is called the swede fire. new evacuation orders are in effect for hundreds of people. others are being warned to pay

extremely close attention to the wind conditions. cal fire officials say the flames are 20% contained. 400 structures are threatened right now. the fire has burned just under 2,000 acres in three days. >> and an argument may have led to a deadly stabbing in antioch. officers found a 49-year-old man suffering from several stab wounds just before 8:00 last night. at a gas station. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. detectives say they're questioning a man who was at the scene who fought with the victim. no arrests have been made. the south bay chp investigators are asking for the public's help to track down a ford pickup truck involved in a deadly hit and run last night around 8:45. a man was hit while crossing the street in san jose. witnesses say they saw a late model full-sized ford pickup with oversized tires drive away. it was described as light in

color, possibly with a red stripe on the hood. >> a home owner faces the task of rebuilding due to this mess, caused when a pickup truck plowed into her home. the truck smashed through a porch and living room before nothing down a wall. it happened at 2:30 this morning. the woman there, the home owner, escaping unharmed. she was in a back room, listening to music. the pickup's driver ran airplane from the scene. >> drivers can expect delays starting midnight on interstate 880 in san leandro. caltrans will close all lanes on southbound 880 at davis street. that closure will run from midnight until 4:00 a.m. traffic will be diverted off the freeway at the davis street offramp and directed back on to the freeway at the davis street onramp. due to a building of a new

>> carolyn: an unusual sighting it to. a mountain lion was season in san mateo county this morning. it was just before 3:00 a.m. when county officials received the sport -- report of the sighting. residents are being advised do not approach a mountain lion. >> now to the unrest in egypt. 36 people died when muslim brother ahold detainees tried to escape from a prison truck convoy in cairo. the convoy was carrying detainees rounded up during recent street violence between security forces and supporters of ousted president mohammed morsi. morsi belongs to the muslim brotherhood. egypt's interim government is considering a ban on the group. the death toll in egypt now

stands around 900. and back here in the bay area, local egyptians are demanding a stop to the violent during a rally at united nations plaza in san francisco. some demonstrators want the u.s. to cult off military aid to egypt. volunteers carrying clipboards urged fellow san diego residents today to recall mayor bob filner. as you no doubt know, filner faces accusations of harass. from morning a dozen women. the 70-year-old former congressman has ignored numerous calls to resign. filner's opponentses now have 39 days to collect the 102,000 signatures needed to put a recall measure on the ballot. filner is due back at work tomorrow after undergoing one week of behavior therapy. up next on abc7 news at 6:00, what researchers say is causing a severe rise in near sightedness in children. >> some wild weather possible this week in the bay area.

>> carolyn: a new study suggests more children and young adults are now nearsighted because of smartphones. the study says the constant connection is damaging eyesight. one problem most people hold their phones eight inches from their faces to read. readers hold magazines or newspapers an average of 16 inches away. another problem is how frequently we use our smartphones. >> either capable of taking the strain but for how long. the eye tries -- it's harder to see far away. >> researchers say there's been a 35% increase of near

this. as the low spins off the coast, if you're trying to make plans for this week, looks like monday night and tuesday could be the wet scenario. 11:00 tonight, we'll see the high and mid-level clouds. this is monday at 7:00 a.m. still cloudy. by monday night, 8:00, you'll see some moisture coming in. 10:00, 2:00 a.m. tuesday morning, and then the moisture will wrap around across the bay area, right on in through wednesday morning. the red-flag warning tonight with dry lightning strikes a possibility through wednesday so we'll keep it very, very unsettled as we head through the middle part of the work week. highs tomorrow, 85, san jose. 70, san francisco, still hot inland. livermore, 93. tuesday and wednesday. showers and the possibility of that thunder there, and then as the low kicks out by thursday, we'll clear things up, cool things down.

cheryl cheryl you and live doppler 7hd getting quite the workout. we're following developing news right now after a man fell 100 feet at the half moon bay golf course. he was near the 18th hole. lillian kim is joining us live now to bring us the details of what happened. lillian? reporter: carol lip that man is suffering from major injuries. it happened in half moon bay. emergency responders say the man fell off the cliff near the 18th hole. crews don't know if the man was a guest of thorites. all they know is he is 25 years old and he and a group of people he is with are not from the area. it's not known what led to his fall. there's a paved public access walkway several treat from the cliff's edge and several signs that say, unstable ground.
