>> happening right now. lightning popping around the bay area tonight. this is san mateo. concern tonight is that one strike could spark disaste disaster. we caught lightning strike tower cam are video from our emeryville camera overlooking the bay with san francisco in the background as you can see. taken just after 8:00 p.m. you can see multiple strike which we have edited together to give awe sense of what happened during the evening. here's a look from our san mateo bridge camera. see the lightning strike there in the upper left portion of your screen. fairly dramatic. an with all that lightning we are seeing some rain. here's video sent to from us a viewer if san jose. you can see the rain hitting the pool in the back yard of this houseñ#rib on fields drive. now here's a look at you report photo sent to us by bay area viewers. mike tweeted this shot from a lightning strike from dublin

for 400 homes issued. it is the largest of self southern california wildfires sparked by lightning streaks. now around the bay area tonight firefighters are watching the weather very closely and in some spots they are doing more than just watching frankly. nick smith live in mill vale and out on patrol tonight as they warm homeowner to be on guard. >> in fact they also told to us look out for light new england ourselves and we have seen few light new england streak just warning in effect for parts of the north bay until wednesday means that dry light new england if it connects with fuel it could be dangerous. >> we took out some cedar. we took out some different things we learned were more flammable. >> doing what firefighters wish all homeowner who live in areas with heavy vegetation would do. remove the brush and debris that can become fuel. >> you do it once a year then

that and reaction from the driver himself. lillian. >> today announcement confirmed what abc 7 news reported friday that the cause of the fear was mechanical and that cautions against limo driver were unfounded. >> some tragedy are cems and some are not. this one is not. hence will not be any criminal charges. >> took three months for investigators to claw that the fire was accidental. in all 10 people were inside the limo when it burst in glimpse on the san mateo bridge. 5 female passengers died that night. >> primary catalyst of the tragedy was the catastrophic failure of the rear suspension system which allow the vehicle drive shot to ultimately kilometer into contact with the floor man. >> investigators also cleared the limo driver of any wrongdoing sense the fire orvilleñr brown under intense scrutiny. >> help me help me. >>reporter: one survivor claimed brown didn't do enough to help she and her friends

escape. the estranged wife said he was talking on the cell phone with her playing loud music before the fire. but investigators found none of that was true. >> upon rae view of the cell phone records chp and district attorney investigators determine mr. brown was not on his phone at the time of the tragedy. >> disturbing very disturbing going through stress from the accident alone and then to have something like this it hurts. >>reporter: despite no criminal charges the p uc is finding the limo operator 7500 dollars for allowing more passengers than seat belt. investigators say they will never know if those 2 extra passengers contributed to the failure of the rear suspension system. this is abc 7 news. >> well dramatic 911 calls made medley after the fire spread show the panic as victims tried to escape. pretty upsetting stuff we won't air parts of the recording because that would be too much for the victim family

argued the prosecution did not proof that he was capable of killing for northern california women in the late 70's and then early 90's. he then had a letter slipped to the abc 7 news i team that details who joe claims are other possible suspect in one of the murders. he faces the death penalty if convicted again in the hands of the jury. >> mayp written biologist buried 42 foot whale at stinson beach after unable to save the life today. whale washed ashore barely breathing early this morning. group of people tried to get endangeredmy whale back that the water but wouldn't budge. whale died around 10:00 a.m. marin biologist say barely breathing and scratches on the belly. performed a test to help figure out what caused the whale to beach itself but no word on the result. they are endangered. 3500 of them left in the wild. >> l more to bring you tonight. school starting up again. students are really experiencing sticker shock and

look towards this area lightning push off the coast here. a lot of people posting on twitter and facebook and seeing the lightning. they are seeing some rain in some spots. this is a cell moving towards portola valley. should be there in about 29 minutes so watching that carefully also just west of the monterey and south west of monteray area we developing here which is why a special marine warning issued. seat fog down below and this camera has been lighting up as well. we have seen some strike on there as well. 59 in san francisco right now. it is 56 in oakland. 70 degrees in san jose. pretty pleasant there. and as you look at the view from the emeryville camera you can see the bay bridge there. this one also has been seeing lightning strike. send us your pictures. you have been great about telling me what the weather conditions are in your area. 57 right now in san francisco. it is 59 in novato. still pretty mild concord livermore in the 70's. from
