delays. >> this morning police are warning women to be extra cautious around santa clara university a. was sexually assaulted near the intersection of franklin and sherman streets and the search is on for the attacker. abc7 news reporter is on the scene. matt? >> the sexual assault occurred here steps away from santa clara university. here is a sketch of the suspect from santa clara police. he is describeds as a white male with a white tan, 6' to 6' 2" weighing 200 pounds with dirty blond hair. the victim was walking alone and he grabbed her from behind and attacked her. the woman was able to fight him off and escape. 15 minutes later the university sent out an alert to students by e-mail and voice mail. >> an attempted sexual assault occurred. >> i got a call from my mom, we

live three blocks from here. >> the attack happened a politic away from the hut and a bar popular with the students. workers put up the sketch. summer school is in session here and santa clara police are not confirming if the victim was connect the to the university. a raging wildfire burning near yosemite national park has destroyed more than 63,000 acres twice the size of san francisco. the rim fire is only 1 percent contained in the national forest and has been burning out of control since saturday. the governor has declared a state of emergency to free up fire-fighting money. katie marzullo says fire officials have ordered campers and residents to leave. she will have an update in the next half hour. >> the fire has caused san francisco to declare a "state of

live construction cameras to see how close the bridge is to opening. when it ons we will notify you on twitter. >> former residents are filing lawsuits against an apartment complex after a deadly fire. the fire in july killed one person and left 100 others homeless. the 72-unit were apartments have been declareed uninhabitable and 22 former lawsuits have filed lawsuits and more are expected. tones claim the building should have had fire sprinklers. the fire was likely an accident started in a kitchen. the management company has not commented. >> family and friends of a 20-year old alameda county man say he left home wednesday and has not been seen. the man left at 2:00 p.m. for an unknown location and withdraw money from the bang and gave it to his mother. he did not take cell phone, wallet, i.d. or car keys and

wearing a plaid hooded jacket, blue jeans, and hike, boots and a backpack. >> a 44-year-old san jose man with diminished mental capacity has been found a week later. he was found in berkeley late yesterday afternoon. he disappeared at valley fair maul in san jose the previous thursday. the mercury news say authorities are trying to determine how he got to berkeley and where he was standing. they say he has the mental capacity of a two-year old. >> a san francisco martial arts studio what no defense for out-of-control car that crashed into the dojo yesterday evening at 6:30 in richmond district. you can see in the video the car blued into the corner of the building, smashing through a studio wall. the driver was shaken but no one was injured and investigators have not said what caused the crash. >> on friday morning, mike is

concord men are under arrest after they were linked to four armed robberies in concord the past week. police arrested a 57-year-old at his home this morning. inside police found the gun used in all four robberies. these are pictures of french being arrested. they also found evidence linking another concord man, 50-year-old to the same four robberies after robbing the four places in the last week. witnesses described then as homeless and armed with a gun. >> new this morning the president of the san francisco board of supervisors said he is ready to introduce a bill to limit bottled water sales. the "san francisco examiner" reports he is expected to introduce a finalized version of the legislation when the board returns from the summer recess in early september. he says it is part of an effort to reduce waste. right now the proposal would began vendors on city rot and in government building from selling

plastic water bottles. san francisco international airport and sporting events would be exempt. anasa has a plan to send astronauts to an asteroid and released this animation detailing the mission that would have astronauts landing on an steroid taking samples and returning to earth. the proposal is part of the budget for president obama but would not take place until 2020 at the emilyest. nasa says that the mission would probably take about nine days and would use the new space capsule. >> nasa is planning to launch a mission to study the moon's atmosphere in two weeks with a low cost spacecraft that will lit off from an island in virginia in september. this is a picture of the explorer developed and built and tested at nasa at moffett field. the spacecraft is the size of a small car and will orbit the moon in an unmanned robotic mission, the $280 million

highs and fewer clouds in the afternoon as the marine layer stays not so stout and we will have warm temperatures tomorrow but the sea breeze is back on sunday and monday and our cool of the highs will coincide with that. today, mid-80's around los gatos and morgan hill and gilroy and headed to santa cruz there will be sunshine and most of the santa clara valley is from 77 in milpitas to cupertino and san jose at 80 and plenty of sunshine on the peninsula, and millbrae is the cool spot at 71 and much else in the mid-to-upper 70's with redwood city at 78 until you get to los altos at 79 and in the mid-60's along the coast to upper 60's around downtown san francisco and headed to south san francisco at 70 degrees and same in sausalito and through the north bay valley, low-to-mid 88 and if you find shade you will be country, mid-60's at the beaches and the east bay shore, you will stay in the low 70's and everyone else is comfortable in the mid-to-upper 70's and in

the victim was walking alone on wednesday morning just after midnight and a man grabbed her from behind and push her in the bushes and attacked. >> abc7 news has learned a san francisco police officer has been arrested in the east bay on child molestation charges. the officer has not been identifyied. san francisco police department is not releasing information right now on the officer. >> the san diego city council is set to vote at 1:00 o'clock today on a deal aimed at resolving the sexual harassment scandal plaguing the mayor filner. no details are released of the deal. a lawyer if one of women says she has not signed off on any deal. >> five, ahead of the five day close use of the bay bridge, several lanes of the toll plaza will be closed this weekend starting tonight. three lanes on the right side of the plaza will be closed so workers can add a new fast track only lane. the closure lasts until action monday morning. >> six, it is not foggy yet but there are clouds for the commute and we will watch sfo.

visibility out there is fairly unlimited in the horizontal but we have cloud deck on top of us that is not going to hang around so expect more sunshine and warmer weather today. this is how it looks from the exploritorium camera you can see the clouds out there. inland, it will be 81 in the north bay to 89 in the east bay valley and around the bay, close to normal at 70 to 80 and the coast to san francisco mid-to-upper 60's. now, the traffic. sue? >> starting to bunch up out of the travel valley and out of the antioch which is typical. highway four shows under 30 minutes between antioch and concord and up and over the altamont pass you are looking at 32 minutes between 205 and the livermore area so that is a bit of a slow grind toward the dublin/pleasanton and bart, muni, ace, all mass transit is on time. the san rafael shot shows the blinking lights is pg&e crew this morning, a van plowed through a tree and a power pole

and they are trying to get the pole repaired. traffic is light in the area and moving at the limit. we will watch it. >> in develop news, all lanes of highway 101 in san mateo are back open following a fatal crash that happened after 11:30 last night on northbound 101. the authorities say one person was killed. a sig-alert was in place if two hours while crews worked to clear the seen. in word on identity of the person who was killed and the cause of the crash is under investigation. >> developing news from the huge wildfire burning near yosemite national park tourists are leave chased away by the blaze that more than tripled and quadrupled in side in 24 hours. katie data has more. firefighters must be frustrated. >> the fire is hard to get to and it is out of control. so frustration and, finally, evacuation order. the sheriff says some people must leave the area now because

growing. >> yosemite is still open but it will take you longer to get there from the bay area, the best way is to take highway 99 and go on highway 140 or highway 41. >> if the drive takes you across the bay bridge three of the toll lanes will close tonight so another fast track lane can be added. amy hollyfield joins us from the toll plaza with more. amy? >> a rough weekend on the bridge. a few lanes will be shutting down starting tonight. the these lanes to the right of the toll plaza will be closing and that starts at 9:00 tonight and they will be doing that to create a new fast-track lane for the new bridge. they will allow cars in the two bus only lanes and they will make an exception to help keep traffic moving this weekend. there will be some inconvenience ahead and our reward is a brand new bridge that will come to us with a bicycle and a pedestrian

path, something new and different. and construction crews working on the bridge say it will be a really cool method of crossing the bay. >> the views off the bridge are incredible. even to oakland and also toward san francisco. >> here is a rendering of the finished product of the bicycle and pedestrian path on the southern eastbound lane 15.5' wide holding bicyclists and pedestrians so you have to be courteous so you can co-exist especially on opening day when the bicycle and pedestrian path will be very crowded. >> the closure will start late in the evening on wednesday august 28 and it will last for up to five full daze over the long labor day holiday and re-open tuesday september 3 the day after labor day.

been arrested on child molestation charges. the officer who has not been identified was arrested in concord. we are told the san francisco police department is aware of the investigation but is not releasing information on the officer right now. the officer was arrested and released. >> marin county sheriff deputies are looking for the person who opened fire on an occupied car hitting one person. the shooting happened on drake avenue around 7:30 last night in marin city. our media partner, the marin independent journal report as 21-year-old vallejo man was shot several times in the chest. he was taken to marin general. his condition isn't known but police say he was able to speak to investigators briefly before going into surgery. authorities say that the shooter is described as black man, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and ski mask. authorities search for an 18-year-old suspected of stabbing his pregnant teenage girl and a family dog. johnny madden ran from the home on wednesday morning after stabbing his 16-year-old girlfriend in the leg and

abdomen. she is pregnant with tins. the condition con times reports that the girl and her unbeen children were not seriously injured. the dog, six months old, need surgery and had part of the liver removed. >> a 10-year old boy injured in a pitted ball attack has a long road to recovery. hunter kilbourn visit add doctor who said he needs more surgery. he suffered nerve damage and doctors are still waiting to see if a skin graft will take. a hearing will be held to determine the fate of the dogs involved. the owner has equaled the hearing to avoid euthanize the animals. a man who lost two daughters in a crash on black friday is facing criminal charges. the prosecution have filed manslaughter charges against the 48-year-old man who was driving on highway 101 in palo alto in november when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed the s.u.v. the two daughters were ejected and died.

president mubarak from prison to a military hospital. the court ordered the release but mubarak could go back to prison if he is convicted in the death of protesters during the 2011 uprising against him. high is under house arrest after spending two years in jail facing corruption charges. >> a deal aimed at resolving the harassment involving san diego mayor filner could have hit a snag. the city council will vote at 1:00 o'clock but the attorney representing one of the 17 women suing the mayor says that she can did not sign 506 on the deal. no detail on the deal have been released and the lawyer is unaware of the terms and says she hopes the agreement calls for filner's resignation but says it should not include the promise to pay the legal bills. >> this morning, two people are under arrest in nevada accuses of lotting to capture and kill a

las vegas police officer. the 67-year-old man and the 42-year-old are facing a long list of conspiracy charges, the couple belong to a sovereign citizen movement and expressed a deep hatred for police during an undercoverration. according to investigators, the two planned to kidnap a random officer and put him or her on trial before executing the officer in a vacant house. >> the san francisco fire department is reviewing the policy that bans firefighters from using helmet cameras. the chief spoke of the ban yesterday at the san francisco fire commission meeting and the policy has been in affect since 2009 but was reemphasized just days after the "san francisco chronicle" ran images from a video that show as fire truck running over a victim of the july 6 asiana flight 214. >> we are evaluating at this time and we have had 12 policies from other fire departments

mike nicco? >> good morning to you. we are waking up to cloud cover outside. it is very dark. in fact, we have cloud cover just about everywhere this morning and we will keep an eye on sfo to see if flight arrival delays will develop as we head through the morning. as far as what is going on weather-wise the clouds will dissipate an hour quicker and we will have more sunshine at the coast. today and tomorrow are the better days for the coast with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60's as more cloud cover rolls in on sunday and it will be brisk and cool at the coast. temperatures today run from 70 to 80 around the bay and about 80 to 90 from the north by to the east bay valley. i have a couple of things going on today we have at&t park it will be busy with the pirates and the giants partly cloudy and 61 at first push at 7:15.
