closed but tonight hundreds of residents gather and they had a lot of questions. >> a lot of about. >>reporter: tuolomne county resident hungry for any bit of information about the rim fire. >> we are asked to evacuate something we should be doing with our stored gasoline proshtion pain bottle that kind of thing. should we take it away from the house. >> as much as of that stuff you n get secured it makes our efforts a lot easier. >>reporter: one dig focus has been making sure the fire stays away from the area of tuolomne city and twin heart. tankers helicopters bombarded the bumper zone all day. >> not growing lake it did in the earlier day. but it is still active. still moving. still giving them fits. spotting. >> we appreciate it. don't let it get to sack toyshtion governor brown thanked firefighters in tuolomne. on sunday he got a call from president obama offering federal help. >> well i think we have what we need but this is kind of a

daily every day we take a look at it and whatever i'm requested i'll certainly not hesitate to call president obama if i think we need more than we have. >>reporter: the cost of the fire has topped 20 million dollars and is still growing. in tuolomne, abc 7 news. >> now what about the smoke and the weather conditions on the fire line? fch sandhya is tracking that tonight with live doppler 7 hd sandhya. >> yes larry. right now i show you the current conditions there. humidity has been increasing which of course is good news and winds decreasing. we watch the fog here in the bay area check out the conditions at the rim fire. skype degrees relative humidity has come up 45 percent. wind out of the north north west to 5 and certainly not as gusty as earlier today. here's satellite picture smoke from the rim fire you cap see it continues to clearly head into nevada and still moving all the way up towards reno into the

have the worst commute when that bridge closes. we also took a boat ride out to the first support beam east of the main tower where engineers figure out how to keep the bridge from rocking back and forth too much. to prevent the giant bearings under the bridge from rocking extensively these metal plate or shim wedged in place. the goal was to keep the bridge from wobbling too much. the process was quite simple. the shim are simply steel wedge. what you would do if you hadxd a wobble table and wad up a napkin to keep it from moving. we did that the unthe east bound and the westbound deck. >>reporter: the shim will be removed in december when the new saddle built to reinforce the defective bolt in almost delay the opening of the bay bridge. but not every delay can be avoided. when the bay bridge closes for up to 5 days starting wednesday night p.e. will have to cross the richmond gelleden gate bridge and bay bridge to get to work at the island cove market on treasure
