engulfed in flames, we can tell you five, possibly six homes were damaged or destroyed. >> now 50 others have been evacuated including an apartment building on north texas street. and an evacuation center has been established for all of the people who had to leave the neighborhood. >> we have a view of the fire fight. the roarer newspaper shared us this video using tout video sharing app. crews fought the fire using ladder crews, you can see the concerned neighbors looking on as firefighters rushed to the scene of basically every time they turned another fire was breaking out. >> travis air force base sent crews to help battle this, they do now have four units on the scene. we have a view to share with you this, is from one evacuee

describe what you encountered when you came on the scene. >> we got on the scene there was a small roadside grass fire that quickly spread to seven alarms. it was 40 acres and we have two complete -- houses are lost three other houses are insolved with various insolve frmt minor to major. we're doing overhaul on that. there are no active fire lines as we can tell from -- no active fire lines just doing mop up for the homes that are on fire. >> yes. there are still homes on fire then? more than ones we've been able

that goes up, seems like at r a fire breaking out in front of you, behind you. the wind squirreling. -- swirling. how do you deal with that? >> we train often in these situations and try to use all of the resources we need. we have good resources for mutual aid. they try to get as many resources to get it done as we can. >> did you have issues getting mutual aid? did you have a good response? >> that was a concern but they were great and helped out. and they responded quickly. >> how concerned were you that you might not be able to stop

the fires from spreading from home to home because it seemed for a while it was scarey and happen hazard. how worried were you this would co-get out of hand? >> yes. it's quite a scary situation when you're not sure where the sfir going and rely on training to get it done. >> and as far as evacuations were most people willing to get out? >> yes. the police department was able to do evacuations for us. interest tl was in issue there. and grabbed belongs. >> one thing we did notice is how close homes are together so it must have been terrifying for neighbor that's caught fire. >> a lot of neighbors in the

has grown to become the seventh largest in state history. it's spread across 30,000 acres and the flames have now reached hetch hetchy reservoir. two groves of giant sequoias do replain maine threatened bit fire. firefighters estimate they vit 0% contained. abc 7 news is near the fire line was the latest for us. >> the beat goes on here, they're trying to make sure houses stay safe behind me, one of the several helicopters have been stopping getting fire retardant in these giant bags rg then, they take off and dump retardand on fire areas or buffer zones. these cranes contain about 2000 to owe 3,000 gallons of

fire retardant. and will keep going. ash has hit hetch hetchy reservoir which is the main drinking supply and smoke has closed schools in tuolumne county. >> groveland is near the area, there are still concerns. schools in the area weregq[z closed yesterday and today, and parents just got word there will be no classes for the week. the massive fire enveloped much of the valley. >> really smoke qlee. because there is lots of smoke everywhere. >> safety because of"ms÷ the smg and smoke has been terrible here. i'm sure they're worried about

children, especially that have prits tori problem autos rim fire is dropping ash on the hetch hetchy reservoir. the city says water is withdrawn 260 feet heading down these large lines on the way to the bay area. water department was draining water from the hetch hetchy before the fire but is now taking more and storing it, destroying 100 structures so far stressing out anyone who owns property in the fire phone. i drove sunday got up here but it's pretty apprehensive knowing so otsdz are not too good but it's a relief getting there seeing the flais still there. >> the cost now hit $27 mill
