>> abc7 news starts right now with breaking news. >> good morning, the breaking news is in san lenadro where firefighters made a disturbing involvery in a burning mobile home. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has the details. >> the fire is out. the fire department confirms one person was killed in the fire. you can see what is left of what is described as a travel trailer beyond the fence line. this is a mobile home community, a one-trailer damage. they cannot confirm the gender

or identity of the victim. a neighbor tells me it was a woman, a disabled woman and someone no one in the trailer park had met. the 9-1-1 calls came in after 3:30. the fire department was on the scene five minutes later but the trailer was engulfed. neighbors say they tried to break open the windows. they heard the woman's voice, asking if she was okay and the fire department said she was probably dead in the first few minutes of the fire. no other trailers damaged or homes damaged in the area. police working to find the victim if it is a woman. the victim's relatives, as well, to five them she has died in the fire. the police department is working on that angle. >> we want to check on the

>> he claimed he was sexually assaulted and addicted to pornography and the sex with the three women was consensual. >> unlikely to forgive give the word of a relative. >> to arrow -- ariel castro, may god have mercy on your soul. >> in contra costa county, a second victim in a school district sex abuse scandal has reached $1.8 million settlement. a 30-year-old woman who lives in the central valley sued the school district in january claiming a teacher sexually abused her repeatedly when she was in 8th grade in then anyone claiming the district and school officials failed to report two early student reports of sexual abuse from the same teacher which allowed her to be victimized. the swim coach received a settlement of $2.5 million.

lenadro where a woman has been killed at a fire if her home. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has the news. >> neighbors are scrub eling trying to help but they feel helpless. you can see the trailer home. fire department described it as a travel trailer used as a resident. the fire department can fought confirm who the victim is but we know one person died in the fire. neighbors say it is an elderly disabled woman but someone they have never met. they say they hear her and tried to get her out but the chief on the scene says that was a mistake. >> the neighbors recorded hearing the occupant banging on the doors breaking out windows and they broke out the windows and there was smoke and actually that lit up the property, unfortunately. >> this fire break out after

that lasted into the night. amy hollyfield joins us with the the toll plaza. amy, how does it look? >> still early so not too bad, matt. this is the time to cross. the metering lights are not on at the toll plaza. the evening commute is what was painful. look at the congestion. we had one commuters say her trip of 25 minutes took 80 minutes and the c.h.p. believes it is because people are slowing down to safer -- savour the new bridge. there is a slow down of traffic under the suspension part of the bridge and then traffic picks up beyond the tower. c.h.p. thinks the slow down could last for a week. >> taking pictures while driving you could be subjected to the speed law, so what is a safe speed to take a picture while driving? we determined that is zero.

murder. a judge sentenced castro to life in prison plus a thousand years. >> sentencing begins today for convicted serial killer joseph naso. a jury convicted him last month of killing four women in the 1970's and 1990's and we have learned the prosecution have evidence tying him to another victim and will present the proof in the sentencing phase of the trial. the body was found on a beach in 1981. naso is suspected in another murder in 1992. the jury will have to decide whether he should be executed or imprisoned for life. >> classes will take place at a newark school this morning after a fire on campus last night. it started at 9:00 p.m. when firefighters say a double wide trailer caught fire the home of a school caretaker not home. firefighters rescued two dogs and three parrots.

>> santa clara county's struggling ambulance company wants to renew their five year contract with the county. the arizona based company claims they are looks $5 million a year under the current terms. rural metro filed for bankruptcy last month. last year the santa clara county hit the company with a $5 million fine because of slow response time and van breakdown. rural metro says it would rebid for a new contract if it is let out of the current contract. >> president obama has started the three day overseas trip where he will try to build more international support for action against syria. the president got off air force one a few hours ago in stockholm where he will meet with sweden's prime minister and leaders from other nordic countries. the northern european stop was added to his itinerary after he canceled plans to meet with russian president my pin in now.
