abc 7 news. >> announcer: live from the kgo broadcast center. this is abc 7 news. >> hot temperatures and high fire danger. tonight, crews mopping up house fires and a grass fire. we begin tonight with developing news out of mountain lane in one of the homes. while firefighters tried to put it out, the! 'é fire jumped to neighboring house. no one was hurt. other houses in the neighborhood were evacuated. >> there is a chance that the gas line that is running to the home may be involved as part of the fire. because of that, we are keeping people at a safe distance. >> pg&e arrived to check the gas line and made any row pairs. here's a live look outside right now. let's look for our first check on weather.

given the hot weather conditions. abc 7 news reporter joins us live from south san francisco with more on the efforts of this fire. >> more than a hundred firefighters battle this blaze and many will stay through the night to make sure that this fire does not reignite. at one point, they were so tall, they were as high as these euchalyptus trees. flames quickly at up the dry af. >> the aircraft was really the saving grace for slowing it down. >> slowing it down was nowhere near knocking it down.

tomorrow when it would be even hot r, stld be much worse. >> because of the high fire danger, alimar park in san jose will be closed tomorrow. the park will also be closed on monday, but that closure is from budget cuts. the cost of fighting the wild fire burning in and around yosemite national park has now topped $89 million. federal teams are now on site to assess the damage. a four-alarm warehouse fire injured a dog and flames to buildingings. you can see it provided to us with amanda savage. it happened on north king road near v[xjmayberry road around last night. >> the family of a sunnyville detective social security trying to find some answers tonight.

here's their story and it's only on abc 7 news. . >> reporter: from a sky 7 hd, you can see what looks like the aftermath of a shootout. according to police, this was a drug arrest that went bad. but the family tells us this was not a shootout because he never fired a shot. >> our question was, you know, was he armed? he just told my brother, no, we never found a weapon.ver found  >> he was shot multiple times by six different officers. according to investigators, he had allegedly sold a pound of methamphetamine to undercover police. those officers say they threatened him and thought he was reaching for a weapon. >> they show his truck being boxed in. he had a stroke recently. so it's, like, he wasn't going to run from them. >> the shooting is being

investigated by the sunnyvale police. they confirmed that a weapon was fot found on him or in his truck. the family says this is the first they've heard about any involvement with drugs. >> if he was in the wrong, fine, you know. we'll accept it. but, right now, they don't have any proof that, you know, he was armed or e had a weapon. >> >> san francisco police rescued a man from the bay. it's believed the pan intentionally jumped into the once crews reached him, he was able to climb back out on to the peefr on his own. police have not said why they took him into custody. a busy road was closed for most of the day after a car accident

the students tumbled to the ground last night during the game at a school field near columbus, ohio. everyone who was hurt is expected to be okay. >> ifgs on the top part of the bleachers when it fell.ú9tt so i just fell on ton of everyone else. >> students were crowding that section of the bleachers, trying to get in front of the camera when the collapse happened. wee just a week ago, a dozen people were injured when a bleacher railing collapsed at a cincinnati area high school game. and you may remember similar accidents at at&t park. some students went over the edge and fell on players below, but there were no serious injuries. nasa's has run into some equipment trouble. >> zero ignition.

a long time resource center for the disabled in san francisco is hoping to move to a new facility because of concerns over the safety of its old site. there's only one thing holding them back. money. it's a story we first learned about last month at an abc 7 news report's decision. here's our story tonight. >> the ind pen dent living resource center has been helping people with disabilities for more than three decades. it offers a full range of services to more than 5500.

>> jesse lorenz heads the center. she says many of the clients have invisible disableties. >> stuart christy is a regular client. >> they'd love me to accept my limitations after the brain aneurysm. and to live with them, you know, rmtble, dignified way. >> the center hopes to move to this newer building on howard street. the center is on the third floor of an old building. it has only one elevator. it breaks down regularly and it's so small it can only fit one wheelchair at a tame. >> a lot of the newer scooters and wheelchairs can't even fit in the elevator.
