you report /tv.com. >> let's get the latest pr sandhya -- from sandhya patel. >> the winds just picked up and let me show you live doppler 7hd. we'll talk about the current conditions and what the forecast looks like. the fog is back and it is socked in along the coast. we have fog around the bay and this is definitely bringing about some changes. let's look at the current weather conditions. 75 degrees and the relative humidity is 20%. check out the winds out of the west northwest and gusting to 42 miles an hour. obviously it is still dry up there and very gusty. the winds have kicked up this evening and we are watching those winds. overnight it is expected to remain in the west northwesterly in the 30 mile an hour range with the higher gusts. a little cooler tomorrow looking at the smoke advisory continuing for con tau costa and alameda. from our east bay hills camera you can see this time lapse from earlier this afternoon as

pipeline explosion that destroyed a neighborhood. 8 people died and several more were seriously wounded in the blast. 38 homes were destroyed. state and local prosecutors decided not to file criminal charges against pg&e. federal officials have two more years to bring a case if they decide to. the utility faces more than $2 billion in fines from possible safety violations. a former stanford hospital technician faces sexual battery charges in a case involving a patient. police arrested bradford from fremont. they say on two occasions he inappropriately touched a woman while she was semisedated. there are no other known victims. prosecutors are waiting for more information before discoiding whether to charge a san francisco -- before deciding whether to charge a san francisco city worker for running over a woman and killing her. he is currently out on bail. witnesses told police he ran over the woman in a city truck at holly park last thursday and then drove off. he was found by police a couple blocks away.

obama's address to the nation on syria, a possible breakthrough on the crisis tonight. the white house says it will consider a proposal that could put off a military strike. abc7 news reporter lilian kim is in the newsroom with the story. lilian? >> president obama and syrian foreign minister are embracing a proposal that russia came up with. it alls for syria to place its chemical weapons under international control. >> is military strike on pause? >> absolutely. >> in an interview with abc's diane sawyer, president obama said while the proposal put forth by the russians appears promising, the threat of military action against syria

needs to stay on the table. >> i don't think we would have gotten to this point unless we had maintained a credible possibility of a military strike . >> these latest developments came as support in congress for a resolution authorizing force was slipping. the senate majority leader says he is postponing the vote planned for wednesday. all of this is good news for the dozens of protesters who gathered outside the federal building in san francisco. this was one of nearly 200 demonstrations across the country aimed at putting pressure on lawmakers. >> we are barely out of iraq and afghanistan. now we are planning to bomb to smither reins yet another middle east country? that's wrong. >> the president hopes to convince the american public otherwise in a nationally televised address tomorrow. janeen is a guest lecturer and correspondent for the "washington post." she said the clock for mr. obama to make his case is ticking. >> right now everybody is talking about syria. should we strike?

jobs at abc7news.com under see it on tv. apple is expected to unveil the iphone 5s at a special event in cupertino tomorrow. the "wall street journal" confirms the 5s will feature a fingerprint scaner for greater security. it is also rumored to have a better camera, faster processor and new champagne gold color option. some analysts believe apple will announce a deal as well with a chinese mobile carrier that supports 700 million new potential customers. forget batman and robin. there is a new dynamic duo keeping the streets safe. batman and captain america, or those dressed up as the super heros. they rushed to a fire in west virginia this weekend and they were actually entertaining kids next door when they saw the flames. the duo then headed into the home and pulled a cat free which then had to be resuscitated. one of the men is a former firefighter who served in iraq. the pair insists they are not heros.
