afternoon below average again from mid-60's along the coast, 68 in san francisco, a lot of low-to-mid 70's around the bay shore and upper 70's in the south bay and the north bay and low-to-mid 80's in the east bay valley. we will see more sunshine than yesterday. >> we have reports of wet conditions on the bay bridge in san francisco away from treasure island. other than that, we are in good shape but for the problem on 680 near main street we have a truck with a fat tire and i saw emergency crews moving down to help them out and the traffic is slowing down but still slowing. the 24 drive coming into orinda you are at top speed and not a problem. this is away from 17, all the

traffic is moving swiftly. >> thank you, leyla gulen at 5:02. bargain hunters are lining up at a new nordstrom but not everyone is happy about the grand opening. neighbors worry it will make a bad traffic situation worse. >> the traffic situation is bad because look what is in the parking lot of the nordstrom rack a safe way gas station, a popular safe way gas station. there are signs of concern all over the place. there are literally traffic signing trying to control the traffic with rails up striking to show people where they can and cannot go and keeping the two customs separate from each other. gas station customs tell us there are already lines to the gas station and they cannot imagine what the store will do.

the united states from russia president putin. abc7 news is in the newsroom. >> secretary of state john kerry arrived in switzerland two hours ago with video arriving getting off the flame. experts will meet with their russian counterparts in geneva today and tomorrow and the russians say they can convince syria to hand over the 1,000 tons of chemical weapons if the united states drops the threat of a military strike. kerry wants pesks: how will they be destroyed in the middle of a civil war? >> there are technical aspects involved in a plan for securing syria's chemical weapons. >> russian president putin is delivering his antistrike message directly to american citizens with an op-ed piece in

at san francisco we are coming away from sfo into the city and you can see 101 at top speed with traffic in the southbound direction. it will take you ten minutes to reach 3rd street. this is going to be the golden gate bridge so foggy and you can see the lights glistening 50 of the roadway indicating a bit of moisture collected on to the road surface. you may want to slow down the speed. it will take you nine minutes to head out of sausalito to van ness. >> the bloomberg business report is next. >> a big announcement from prince william. >> there could be major service trains for a.c.

releasing thousands of inmates. that includes the governor's plan to lease cells in private prisons and county jails if the court sticks to the original deadline. the state is under federal court order to reduce the prison population by 10,000 inmates by january. a.c. transit wants to run more buses across the bay bridge as part of the big service changes. the a.c. transit board is considering a proposal with a number of changes. $48 million worth of changes. there is a proposal, too, to add routes in oakland with a park-'n-ride opening. the increases service could lead to higher fares. a.c. transit said there will be public hearings. >> there are more signs the housing market is on solid ground. here is jane king with the bloomberg business report business. >> foreclosure activity declining as the housing market improves.

the santa clara valley and we will have temperatures flirt with 80 from redwood city to lotion altos and low-to-mid 70's in san mateo and upper 60's this downtown and south san francisco and along with sausalito and mid-to-upper 70's through the north bay valley and mid-60's at your beaches. most of you will notice a jump in the temperature in the east bay valley low-to-mid 80's afterening in the 70's yesterday. tonight the temperatures are in the 50's and 60's with clouds but not so much drizzle at this morning. the seven-day forecast is two to six degrees warmer and we hold steady and we may drop back a couple of degrees on sunday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday but nothing too out of the ordinary. >> we have a report of an accident northbound through santa rosa, now, involving a vehicle that hit the guardrail and it is blocking one lane and you might see slowing as a

points. matt keller is live with more. matt? >> we are beyond the midway point for the 60 day cooling-off period and bart management and the unions have not come back to the bargaining table to negotiate the big should like salary and benefit. the two sides will be meeting to negotiate supplemental provisions. this week is the first time the two sides have met since governor brown called for a 60-day cool off period august 10. if in deal is reach another strike could begin october 11 and the governor would be power less to stop. bart riders are hoping another strike can be averted. >> it would be very disappointing, the last one was very stressful and not looking forward to another one. >> management and the unions appear to be far apart on raidses. management says they need to take into account the rising employee costs and replacement costs of aiming -- aging

infrastructure. the union members say it would be a pay cut because of rising costs. the next meeting is on monday at 9:00 a.m. where they will talk about the economic provisions. >> in colorado, gnash flooding has last two people dead this morning. emergency evacuations are underway. the national weather service issued a flash flood emergency for boulder and jefferson county of the it has been raining for several days and the main highway through the city is closed. mandatory evacuations are under way for jamestown where there are reports of homes collapsing. one was found dead there and another by the colorado springs fire department. >> there is progress on the wildfire in mt. diablo. the 3,100'

the big concern is replacing vegetation that keeps away the erosion. a sheriff deupty found the body of a 56-year-old man yesterday in an area bun by the clover fire. the fire has destroyed 37 hopes and 77 other structures and has grown to almost 8,000 acres and now is 50 percent contained. >> this morning an urgent plea to women in abusive relationships from the daughter of a san jose woman killed in a domestic dispute get help before it is too late. the 39-year-old was stabbed to death on saturday night. they arrested her husband of more than 20 years. investigators say he murder her while out on bail for an incident from last month. the 22-year-old daughter of

have something in common, all on 101. starting in south bay, san jose, southbound 101, we have this accident on the shoulder and it did hit a poll so someone was out there standing in lanes and it looks like everything is pushed to the shoulder northbound not a problem. we reported this accident involving a car swerving uncontrollably and finally hit a concrete walking northbound 101 at sfo and it appears that c.h.p. is out there trying to location it and they cannot find it. we will keep our eye on that. i checked with our app and i do not see waysers reporting an accident. to northbound 101 we have an accident north of santa rosa. one lane is blocked. we do not have delays. the bay bridge toll plaza shows the cash-paying lanes are loading up. fast track is still moving well into san francisco. >> east bay yards turned into

>> oakland police home a new sketch will help police catch a man who shot an 8-year-old that happened in east oakland in july. the eight-year-old was hit when someone fired through the front door of the apartment. two other children and a grandmother were wounded but they survived. the motive has not been revealed. police used witness descriptions to put together the sketch. >> s.w.a.t. teams gather not because of any trouble but for the best in the west swat competition. 30 of the top swat teams will take place in the two day event at the santa clara sheriff's range in san jose. the competition tested weapons brother efficiency and teamwork. organizers say it is a work shot to improve skills for swat operations and is closed to the public because safety and
