retrieve their possessions. many people just had to scramble and leave their things behind on monday dug the shooting. now, the investigation continues we learning about the disturbing warning signs that were missed. >> law enforcement authorities tell use that the washington navy yard shooter was a ticking time bomb on a final decent interest madness but no one connected the dots. on august 7, aaron alexis called the police in rhode island with a bizarre story documented in a police report obtained by abc7 news describing a confrontation with annan identify person would sent three people to follow him and keep him awake by talking to him and sending vibrations to his body. he recently sought help from v.a. hospitals in rhode island and washington, dc, if insomnia but officials will not discuss his mental state. >> two days before the navy yard rampage, aaron alexis visited a

investigation. >> the c.e.o. of coffee giant starbucks has a new request to gun advocates. the leave the weapons at home. abc7 news reporter matt keller has the reason behind the new call. matt? >> starbucks is a lightning rod in the gun control debate. the company c.e.o. is asking this discussion be taken elsewhere. advocates have held starbucks appreciation day in the bay area and across the country in support of the coffee store policy of allowing customers to publicly show their unloaded gun in states where it is allowed. the c.e.o. says he doesn't want the events if his stores say it is upsetting and unsettling and says gun control advocates have played a role in ratcheting up the rhetoric and con fronting customers. he wrote an open letter and posted it on the starbucks website requesting customers no longer bring firearms into starbucks or the outdoor seating area.

lanes. we are along highway 101 with more on this late night fire. >> there is so much traffic at this hour, can you imagine seeing this during your morning commute, a grass fire on southbound 101. check out this video, right before this area here, firefighters had to shut down a couple of lanes. when they arrived it was spread into the bushes and the trees along the highway and they got it out in 15 minutes. no one was hurt. there are some belongings here in the area and it looked like possibly there was a hopeless camp set up here that people may have been living here. authorities are still investigating what was going on and how this started. at one point, after the fire, they stopped someone in the city and brought in the arson investigator and questioned that opinion but they let that person go. they don't think he or she had
