a new state law offers domestic violence victims more protections from stalkers. the law increases the length of a civil harassment injunction from three to five years. san francisco assemblyman phil ting wrote the law after meeting with local groups. advocates say making it longer keeps victims safe, while they seek a restraining order. >> when talking about stalking we're talking about premeditation, very -- um, focused efforts by the stalker. and so, it can take years before really that person gives up on the victim. >> the stalking law does not increase penalties against violators one in four women in the u.s. say they have been victims of a stouker. >> coast guard crews rescued a worker that had a medical condition that needed attention. you can see the person being
