ammunition. the inspector recognized a 19-year-old from the video. he was shot to death three months after the dog fight at this bus stop. it was sad irony rice himself was a victim of an almost-fatal mauling by two pit bulls when he was only 11 years old. police also found other videos of pit bulls and perkins cell phone. this was shows two of them apparently being trained to bite by attacking hanging tires. silver suspects the pit bull street fighting goes on more than we know its not uncommon at aall the z it's under reported, i believe. >> silver told us street gangs use dog fighting as a means of controlling their turf. >> creates increasing era of violence in the neighborhood. >> police believe one dog may have died but, they would like your help in finding them, and if you recognize anyone nels

heard what sounded like a vehicle accident. the truck with alden smith at the wheel smashed into a tree. advancing on to property of kim din with, the engine racing the wheel gouged a brick on the lawn and left dirt skid marks. >> i see a lot of smoke. and then, the driver inside. he tried to knock the door. he woke up, turned off the engine. >> police did a field sobriety test. >> the officers were able to conduct their investigation and booked him into jail. >> smith lives eight miles away. no one knows why he was here. a fellow teammate lives just down street from where smith crashed. mcdonald was not home this afternoon. smith made bail and was released from jail in a malter of hours, he showed up at

this is the look of pride. graduating class of opd's 167th basic academy. the city needs more officers. today, 36 trainees given badges, took an oath, then sworn to serve and protect their communities. thee graduates will hit the ground and there there are 645 officers at the department. that leaves 200 officers short of staffing levels for a city this size but there are bright spots, today's class reflects diversity of a community it sefshz. -- serves. >> i grew up in oakland. i went to school in oakland. have family in oakland. i'm always in oakland. i don't know other city but oakland. >> if you're wondering where she developed a strong sense of pride, look no further jim

a 51-year-old construction worker was hit and killed today, sky 7 was over the accident skeechblt a construction site near flagship drive around 1:00 this afternoon. investigators say the driver of the big cat scrapper didn't not see the man as he was making a turn and struck and killed him. district police investigating a shotgun blast outside of a court house, one round struck the building about 7:40 this morning. detectives do not believe anyone signed of the building was being targeted. it appears the gun went on when a man picked it up. surveillance video showed him getting into this suburban.
