[ male announcer ] choose at&t and build your bundle. it's whatever works for you. ♪ >> abc7 news starts right now with breaking news. >> this is the seen of a tragic accident which killed a 12-year-old boy riding his bicycle to a middle school in contra costa county. >> kristen is on assignment. a mother of three hit the boy according to the highway patrol. we will get to abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield with more on what happened. amy? >> the boy was killed right here in front of his school. grief counselors are on the thai here now to help the kids at the

middle school. this happened at 7:45 a woman pulling out of the school driveway on to the highway hit the 12 year old boy who was riding his bicycle the he was wearing his helmet. investigators do not think speed or alcohol was a factor and they are calling this a tragic accident. the woman stopped and has not been arrested or given a citation. they have not released the name of the boy. they do not know if the woman knows the boy but there is a good chance she does, it is a very small community with only 1,200 people living here, a small, tight-knit community. there are two ones but if anyone else saw it, you are encouraged to call the california highway patrol. the ones are adults and they do not think any children saw this happen. the boy did die on the scene. he is from discovery bay. his name is not released. the c.h.p. is telling me this is a good reminder for all of us, look both ways -- twice -- just

siege. on saturday, terrorists took over the mall throwing grenades and firing automatic weapons aiming to kill as many as possible. >> it went off at the same time he shot and my son missed the bullet, his head, by an inch, bouncing on the wall and hit the boy next to him. >> kenyan authorities secured all the floors of the building by afternoon rescuing most hostages. the terrorists were believed holed up in the have market along with an unknown number of hostages. kenya has killed three of the terrorists they say. the death toll now stands at 62 with many more wounded. among the injured, at least five americans, including one child, as the battle goes on, the death poll will surely rise. >> uc berkeley graduate is one of four americans injured in the attack in kenya and suffered

>> now a story that we first reported here on friday. investigators took this cell phone video from one of three suspected gang members now arrested for running an illegal dog-fighting ring. it shows two pitt bulls fighting as the owners and bystanders provoked them to fight more. this morning, police released the still images from the video and show four other people police say were involved in that
