>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. the long-standing giants and dodgers provide valerie was peaceful on the field but off the field it was deadly when fans clashed after the game. thanks for joining us. >> san francisco police have detained several people after a man wearing dodgers apparel was stabbed to death a few blocks from at&t park.

our reporter has information just in on the confrontation and the victim. amy? >> we are told three people are detabled at the police department and are at jail. they are still interviewing witnesses. we met with one witness headed into the building. he was shake khalid sheik bragg, a girl who went to high school with him said he was very, very sweet, he was quiet but was always smiling. he was wearing dodgers gear when he was killed at 3rd and harrison. after the giants and dodgers game he was stabbed after a fight. a police spokesman will not say whether the fight was over the rivalry between the two teams but the police department is

concerned for baseball fans. >> we are concerned this may have been what took place. the department and mayor want to make sure everyone is aware there is no place in san francisco for that type of violence, the rivalry needs to stay out on the ball field and not in the stands or in the streets. tonight, we have an increased police presence going out. >> there will be extra officers in uniform and plain clothes at the game between the giants and the dodgers. the giants have not commented. a team spokeswoman said they plan to release a statement. the police chief is going to address this in 15 minutes. he is going to held a press conference. stay with us as the story continues to develop. we have a reporter headed in to

our reporter is in the newsroom. >> police found a lot of guns at the suspect's house. that house is three blocks away from the crime seen in the oceanview neighborhood near where the victim lived. a college student with a bright future. >> my heart fell through the floor. >> jessica is struggling, a senior at the high school in san francisco she worked as a lifeguard long side 20-year-old justin valdez. they were fast friends. >> he also the person who you could look to, to make you smile. >> he was shot and killed getting office a streetcar at randolph street on monday night. police arrested a suspect the next day, a 30-year-old man. investigators have been circulating surveillance and they say it led to the suspect. police believe the killing was random and unprovoked which only makes it harder on people who knew valdez like the high school prince pam in southern california. >> for someone who lives his life as one of the strongest

students on and around campus. police found on seep -- obscene images of children on his equipment. >> a warning to students on the peninsula a man offered a ride to students leaving elementary in san carlos. he is white man in his 50's with salt and pepper hair and a border. >> breaking news with passengers trying to fly out of oakland airport cannot go anywhere because of a power outage that is affecting terminal one and the u.p.s. building. those were on a plane are stuck because the power outage means the airliner cannot pull away from the gate to take off. the southwest airlines terminal is not affected. this started after 10:00 a.m. and power is expected to be restored soon. >> pg&e suspects fast winds could be to blame if a major power outage when 3,100 customs

lost power including the medical center in castro valley. backup generators kept the hospital running if several hours until power was restored. crews spent hours restoring damaged lines when hundreds had to deal without their electricity. >> that happened a few hours into a red flag warning issued for the bay area today. spencer christian is here for mike nicco. >> we do have this red flag warning for high fire danger ir. here is live doppler 7 hd showing you we have sun, clear conditions across the bay area, but we still have the strong gusty dry wins, coming from the north and the red flag warning is in effect through 3:00 p.m. tomorrow and winds will be generally out of the north at 15 to 25 miles per hour and this warning is for the higher terrain, the north bay mountains and the east bay hills and the santa cruz mountains. ends are gusting from time to time between 35 and 43 miles per

striking. >> bay area democrats say there ought to be a law banning transit workers from striking in california. abc7 news reporter matt keller joins us with this story. matt? >> local politician was handing out this flyer at the bart station encouraging passengers to sign the petition banning bart strikes. not everyone is onboard with the idea. a city council man says he is looking out for the average joe, caught in the middle of the negotiations between bart management and the unions. he spent a few hours this morning at the orinda bart station handing out flyers promoting the online petition. >> people cannot get to their jobs, get to doctor's appointments and school so they want their voices heard and i am happy i am getting the support we are getting and we need legislation that bans transit strikes. >> standing against the wind.

the vocal support is being pushed by republicans in southern california a man saying he worked for bart but supports the unions and showed up, saying this petition sounds politically motivated, especially since this councilman is running for assembly the. >> i am surprising that a member takes it upon himself to bring this up. what is his connection to bart? >> the passengers do not want another strike but were split whether the state should ban workers from walk off the job. >> i don't understand why they want to strike new but i don't like the idea taking away anyone's right to strike. i support unions and the right to strike. >> it affects more people than just the bart workers. it is hard if them to say to me, you need to be inconvenienced, you need to pay me more and take home less. that is troubling. it is a vital public service. >> the councilman will push for a ban even if an agreement is
