>> we have breaking news at 5:00 a.m. >> the breaking news, police swat teams have surrounded a home in santa rosa after an all-night stand off with shots fired. katie marzullo is in the newsroom with the latest. >> we are headed into the sixth hour of the stand off with video from the scene. the reports that shots were fired at the house which is off 14 table -- off fountain grove came in last night. there is one person in the home. the home is in northeast santa

indeed, looming larger. the cooling-off periodents at midnight and the union could walk off the job after a set back last night. matt keller is at the fremont station with the latest. matt? >> the unioning still have that option of calling a strike weapon the 60 day cooling-off period ends tonight at midnight but they are expected to be back at bargaining stable. negotiations wrapped up last night at around 9:45. union members were upset that the management withdraw the offer. a spokesman said they did not withdraw any proposals calling it a miscommunication with the mediator and the parties. the union is committed to negotiating but say anything is still possible including a strike. we spoke with a bart rider about what a strike would mean to him. >> it will make my commute very hard because i rely on bart. i don't have a car. i will have to figure out how to get to the city. >> both sides say despite the

disagreement they will be back at the bargaining table after a bart board of directors meeting that starts at 9:00 including a closed door meeting with an update on the negotiations. riders have to wait to see if they have to find a different way to work. >> matt, thank you. >> the facebook page to find the woman who vanished from san francisco scene hospital is loaded with messages of condolence for the family and anger at the hospital. the hospital confirmed yesterday that the body found open tuesday is that of spalding. she disappeared on september 21 and wasn't found for 2 1/2 weeks. the family and friends want did know how that could happen. >> spalding died alone in a stairwell in one of the finest medicallings -- medical institutions in this country. the search wasn't very good.

temperatures will top out in the upper 40's in some places and mid-to-lower 50's elsewhere so very cool temperatures. and highs today around the bay area we are going to be trending cooler and the warm-up is for the weekend with temperatures coming up ever so slowly with the highs today in the lower 70's and upper 60's for most areas as you move inland to the valleys that is where we have the warmest temperatures at 76 degrees in antioch. at the coliseum it will be beautiful but chilly. no clouds to keep the warmth in but 69 as we start the game at 5:00. it will be chilly again with patchy clouds and then tomorrow will clear.

upper 40's and lower 50's no most areas. the seven-day forecast shows saturday and sunday we will be in the 60's around the coast and 70's around the bay and 70's inland and 80 degrees by monday. we have a couple of problems including one in millbrae which was a car and a deer. this is a stalled vehicle northbound 280 at 380 and 380 is at top speeds and both directions not giving us problem. we do have 680 looking clear from milpitas to the sunol grade. outside, we have a nice picture of walnut creek. it looks like traffic is building away from highway 4. you will still be at nine minutes to make the commute to the 24 junction.
